The Obama radio ad for Martin: ‘Turn out one more time’
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
President-elect Barack Obama has cut a radio ad for Democrat Jim Martin in the U.S. Senate runoff.
It’s the first direct involvement by Obama in the extra four weeks of campaigning, and foreshadows at least one TV spot that you’re likely to see soon. No word yet on where or how heavily it will play, but common sense would say that African-American stations in Atlanta will be airing it many, many times.
Two things you won’t see in the script. One is the word “Democrat.” The other is the number “60.”
Read it below:
Obama: This is Barack Obama. I want to thank everybody who turned out and voted for me in November. Together, we can get America moving again.
But the elections aren’t over. In Georgia, there’s a runoff on Tuesday, Dec. 2. And I want to urge you to turn out one more time and help elect Jim Martin to the United States Senate.
Jim supports my plan to cut middle-class taxes, make sure every American has access to affordable health care, stop spending $10 billion a month in Iraq, and get our economy moving again.
Jim Martin’s a man of his word. And I know he’ll do everything he can in the Senate to help me change Washington and get America moving again.
Please join me in supporting Jim Martin for the United States Senate, on Tuesday, Dec. 2. And head to the polls just one more time this year.
Martin: I’m Jim Martin, running for Senate, and I approved this message.
Narrator: Paid for by Martin for Senate.

That was dumb of Obama…..Now, when Martin loses, Obama will take it on the chin too! Personally, I’m glad he did….very dumb on his part!

Why would the President Elect put his reputation on the line for Jim Martin? Jim Martin has the charisma of a bar of Ivory soap. Sometimes you have to just tell a guy he’s on his own. The Republicans would love to spin a Martin loss as a sign of buyers remorse to Obama’s policies.

If Obama made decisions based upon what people thought then he would not be President-Elect of the United States of America. Personally, I am glad the he and all of the other Democratic leaders are turning out to support Jim Martin. By the way, Jim does not want to win a popularity contest, he just wants to help the middle class! Leave the popularity contest to bully’s like Bush and Chambliss. By the way, why is Chambliss runnning away from the Imperail Sugar Investigation. He is certainly Slim!

The election issue for Georgians is really quite simple and straightforward: Would you rather have a Senator Martin sitting in the power centres of the Senate, deciding the form and content of policies being formed to deal with Bush’s economic disaster, Bush’s foreign adventurism, and Bush’s deficits? Or would you rather have a Senator Chambliss sitting over among the nay-sayers and Bush clones, with no power to do more than yell, “NO!” Choose, Georgia!

Canada should stay in Canada. We need Chambliss to keep what very slim system of checks and balances we have left or the left wing nut jobs in Obama’s Washington crowd will go totally nuts and destroy this country and our way of life as we know it.

“Sure, Chambliss is a lousy candidate and a proven corrupt incompetent… but we’re not voting for HIM, we’re just voting against the Democrats!”
This is what passes for thinking among the dwindling remnant of conservatives in Georgia—and it’s why they will keep losing elections.

Back when the Democrats were in the minority, Republicans decried the use of filibusters in the Senate as “obstructionism.” Now Sissy Saxby’s whole campaign is a promise to thwart the will of the majority. Well, that and helping lobbyists.

Saxby will be reelected in a landslide. Jim Martin is too liberal for GA values. If Saxby is elected then the will of the people will dictate that tyranny of the majority will be less powerful than it is now. I hope the Republican party was taking notes from Sen. Harry “THE BODY” Reid (D-Stoplight, NV) on how to stop the majority from completely taking over.

I made a pass a Saxby years ago and he rebuffed my advances. He is not a homo like me. Maybe Martin will take me up on my offer. Martin does look like a girly man.

Vote for Jim Martin on Dec. 3rd. Democrat runoff day is the 3rd. Republican runoff day is on Dec 2nd. Do not let Saxby try to steal this election by having you vote on the wrong day. Martin is the man!!!!! Saxby is bad.

Somebody has stolen Sissy Saxby’s name. That’s OK, Saxby is a big enough Sissy for everybody! He dodged the draft, and now he attacks Veterans! He is a big sissy!

So this is what passes for intelligent argument? Calling someone a ‘Sissy’. Whooboy… It’s real simple. You want the Democrats to have a 60 vote fillibuster proof margin, then vote for Martin. If you want the Democrats to moderate their policies and listen to someone other than public worker unions, UAW and other tax and spend liberal constituences, then vote for Chambliss.
