DSCC ads to hit Atlanta airwaves, greet John McCain

We hear that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has re-joined the contest on behalf of U.S. Senate runoff candidate Jim Martin, with a five-day TV buy in metro Atlanta that’s to start Thursday.

No video has been associated with the purchase — yet.

But the ad buy seems timed to dilute televised images of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who comes to Atlanta tomorrow on behalf of Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss.

I’m sure McCain won’t be mentioning the pork barrel farm bill that Sissy Saxby was so proud of.

With a full blown recession or worse Georgia could use some major clout in Washington to get some relief for it’s citizens. With Republicans filling the Governor’s seat and both senate seats it could be a very long, cold, and hungry 4 or more years! Well, who knows? Maybe Obama will throw us some crumbs? We’re probably going to really need them! Good luck Chambliss? You get the same pay even if you do nothing for us for 6 long years!.

Jim Martin needs to appear and speak in some of his own commercials. It’ll make him more human - like a regular, approachable guy - and down to earth. Saxby speaks in his commercials and it works for him - and he’s far from being human and down to earth.

I am glad that Mr. McCain in standing up in support of Mr. Chambliss. We need someone with morals in Washington. We do not need anymore senators who will support the socialistic policies of Obama-Biden-Pelosi-Reid. Welcome to Georgia Senator McCain. Thank you for a well-fought out campaign. In this case the better man did NOT win.

i guess you couldn’t take one minute to go to the DSCC’s YouTube page where their ad was posted on Tuesday, before this “political insider” blurb was posted. Google is your friend.

apologies.

the DSCC Youtube thing is just a web add, but it’s probably the basis for their TV ad.

Chambliss is a draft-dodging coward. His immoral, repulsive 2002 ads questionining Max Cleland’s patriotism and comparing him to Osama bin Laden will never be forgotten.

Hey ald1968,

Wondering what kind of morals you’re talking about. You mean like cheating on your first wife, dumping her, and then marrying a rich trophy wife? Those kind of morals?

Or do you mean the kind of morals where you get five deferments from service, some for “knee injuries”, yet today be one of the top golfers inside the DC Beltway.

Oh, I get it, you must mean REPUBLICAN morals.

Yeah, we stupid Democrats still believe in staying married to our first (and only wives), not dumping them when times get tough. We also believe in service to country, hey even volunteering when our daddies ain’t The Admiral, not lying about bad knees and hiding behind mama’s skirts.

ald1968, do you actually believe Saxby Chambliss has morals? You’ve got to be kidding me! I’m from Georgia, and I know what kind of morals Saxby Chambliss has. I also know what he has not done for Georgia and especially what he has not done for the military and our troops despite the fact that he wants people to think he’s so big on national security and the military. It’s time for Saxby Shameless to go. I wish we hadn’t moved to Florida this year so we could vote for Jim Martin on December 2. At least my son and my sister and lots of my friends will be turning out to vote.

Saxby Chambliss is a draft-dodging frat boy!

He is just like all the other phony republican chick-hawks bush/chenny/rumsfield/ashcroft!

He needs to held accountable for the dishonest and despicable smear campaign he ran against a true American hero, Max Cleland.

Any veteran who would vote for the coward No-Sack Chambliss should be ashamed!

Jim Martin overcame polio and served in Viet Nam—his polio history could have gotten a deferment. Chambliss? He has as many deferments from Viet Nam as Dick Cheney. Chambliss’s excuse? A bad knee. This was the line all of the rich connected kids used to dodge the draft. Chambliss is a coward who disgraced a man that left 3 limbs on the battlefield in his ads against Max Cleland. John McCain called his ads reprehensible then, Now? John McCain campaigns for him. Attention ALL veterans—Put Chicken hawk Chambliss out of a job!

Chambliss: Draft-dodger, slandered a true patriot, did everything he could to make Bush’s war happen, did everything he could to make Bush’s recession/depression happen, took dollars from Sugar industry to help cover up plant deficiencies that killed Georgians. Martin? Served country honorably in Vietnam, promised to be part of culture of change we all voted for in Washington. *Easy choice for anyone paying attention. *
