My daughter Carol toured Oakland Cemetery on Saturday. Someone had made sure that Maynard Jackson, the late mayor of Atlanta and godfather to African-American politics in Georgia, was informed of Tuesday’s results. Jackson’s been dead these four years now.

SweetPea - Before the election the Paleocon wingnuts couldn’t decide if Obama was Muslim, or if he was a member of an EEEEEEEEVULLLLLL Christian church.
If they can’t perceive his religion, why should they be able to differentiate between “Messiah” and “Anti-Christ”?

So far, the comments here are just as nasty and small-minded as the ones made the day after Election Day on the blog with Cynthia Tucker’s column. There evidently are many of the white persuasion who are most unhappy that “they” have a President now. Well, go back into your 1940s and 1950s closet, because the rest of us—black, white, Hispanic and Asian— are joyous because of Obama’s victory. The news photo above is very touching.

Seriously, who cares about Maynard Jackson? Let dead dogs lie. How do we know that it wasn’t a homeless man that put that paper down there to use as a bed?
