Barry Goldwater’s granddaughter votes early in Fulton County — for Barack Obama

Barry Goldwater’s granddaughter voted early in Fulton County on Tuesday — for Barack Obama.

This isn’t a surprise to those who follow Arizona politics. Here’s a piece from May of this year posted on Democratic Underground.

Alison Goldwater Ross, 45, waited about an hour and a half to cast her vote at the Fulton County government center in Atlanta, for the Democratic presidential candidate.

“I’m avoiding the crowds on Election Day,” Goldwater Ross told my AJC colleague, Mary Lou Pickel.

Barry Goldwater, recognized as the founder of modern Republican conservatism and the 1964 GOP candidate for president, served 30 years in the U.S. Senate. He died in 1998, at age 89.

The Goldwaters and the McCains have a history of antagonism.

“Coming from a political family, I had insight into a lot of things,” Goldwater Ross said. Of McCain, she said, “I don’t have respect for him.”

Goldwater Ross’ vote is an acknowledgment that the philosophy of social conservatism needs to be abandoned because it is corrupt, bankrupt, and divisive. Social conservatism has steered the Republican Party from its great mission and will, unfortunately, lead to the destruction of what was once a great party.

Was Goldwater’s granddaughter picking petals off of a flower and saying, “I’ll vote for Obama, I’ll vote for McCain, I’ll vote for Obama, I’ll vote for McCain……three….two…..one…KABOOM!…I knew it! She’s an Al Ka Ka operative in drag! The GOP has finally gone berserk! Run for your lives.

Barry Goldwater’s best words were reserved for his description of Nixon during Watergate: “I’ll never forgive him for putting the country through it.”

Lyndon Johnson was a Texas-sized monster.

Sounds like Ms. Goldwater-Ross is one smart cookie. Of course, the choice was not difficult to make for anyone with a brain. After eight years of mismanagement and the USA on the decline, the choice is simple. Let’s all send McCain back to Arizona to enjoy his wife’s millions and send Palin back to Alaska to plan her teen daughter’s shot-gun wedding.

Man, you showed us again why everybody is voting for Obama. Why, we’d be foolish to even consider voting for anyone else.

Thank you again for your daily installment as to whom we should vote for in November.

But then again, having seen socialism produce rather poor results in other countries, I believe I’ll pass.

Your man Obama wants us to all be equal. I’m afraid we’ll all be equally poor.

The falling gas prices and the comeback of the financial markets are a direct reflection of the faith the public and big business have in President Obama. We owe it to President Obama to extend his term by voting for him in November.

So we are to believe that God would vote for Obama? How presumptuous.

The New Testament states that we are to model our lives after Christ. Christ wouldn’t abort 40 million babies. And Christ knows when life begins because He gives life.

There were many wicked kings in Israel (in fact most kings were evil in the Old Testament) which shows that God allows even evil rulers to assume power. But we also know that being a righteous God, He punishes evil and sin.

And you left that part out.

I’m as ticked off about this election as anyone is. I am a Republican, always have been. I am mad at McCain for picking that woman, mad as hell. He sunk us with her as a choice. Romney would have been a 200% better choice. Now we have some guy who looks lost and a woman we can’t look at without thinking of a SNL skit as out ticket. She gives speeches about morality while all along her daughter was having sex under her nose with her boyfriend, a guy who has yet to graduate high school. This is leading by example? Horsecrap! This is the best McCain could do? HELL NO !!! It’s obvious now that McCain never spent five minutes talking to Palin before he picked her. He thought she was going to bring in the female vote? How utterly stupid. I am a hunter, so are my sons but I am smart enough to relaize my wife and my daughter hates to see the deer we hunt and kill. I knew we were in trouble when the pictures of her hunting hit the press, woman hate that stuff. This drove away far more women than it pulled into her camp. Woman think of Palin as white trash. My Republican wife called her low rent, so did my daughter. Educated women just do not identify with her. She was a horrible choice as a running mate. McCain-Romeny would have been a strong economic ticket but now we have someone who hasn’t proved to me she knows anything at all about the economy or evcen simple math. Had McCain checked his ego at the door and picked Romney we would have a fighting chance to beat a very, very beatable Obama. As it stands this will be a landslide for all Democrats, even those who are so totally worthless never before would they hold office. I’m mad as hell at McCain for picking that stupid, unqualified low class trainwreck he picked.

Before today I didn’t know Goldwater even had a granddaughter.

Rather than writing about some unknown person, you could have written about former FCC Commissioner Michael Powell’s endorsement of John McCain. Powell is the son of Colin Powell and has more prominence (having been Chairman of the FCC) than some unknown granddaughter.

Michael Powell said the Arizona senator was the best candidate to “calm the turbulent economic waters and to steer the new economy in a direction that will bring growth, opportunity and prosperity to all Americans.”

You could’ve written about Michael Powell, but that wouldn’t have fit your agenda.

A vote for Obama by Barry Goldwater’s grand-daughter is newsworthy indeed.

Georgia is one of few remaining states that reward elected officials for not performing. Saxby Chambliss should meet with a resounding defeat.

Given the economic standing of most Georgians, a majority of its electorate has as much in common with the Republican Party as a skunk does with a dog. The fact that McCain is leading in Georgia is evidence of an electorate very much in need of education.

The hatred, shallow, and poorly stated posts in support of McCain say it all. Georgia’s electorate has dumbed down its state govenment and now very much want to do the same at the national level. Why? They say “because these leaders are like us.”

Come on, folks. The story about Goldwater’s granddaughter is a human interest story — just a bit of fluff in this political season. There’s no effort here to get you to vote the same way she did — just “Hm, that’s interesting that Mr. Republican’s granddaughter voted for a Democrat!” It’s the same kind of thing as the poster who said Colin Powell’s son endorsed McCain when Colin endorsed Obama. Hmmmm, - that’s interesting.

JerryT and JudyT, what is ironic or of human interst that Barry Goldwater’s GRANDDAUGHTER voted for Obama? It doesn’t even fall into the category of tidbit. Instead of looking at how/why Obama has amassed $600 million from “small donors” with names like “Will, Good” and “Pro, Doodad”, it is more newsworthy that the GOP spent $150K on Palin’s wardrobe. It is indeed a strange world.

BTW, Ed, if McCain had picked Romney, we’d be 20 points down now. Romney would have been the ho-hum, business-as-usual choice that would have sealed the deal for Obama. Frankly, I think Obama’s dumb choice of Biden (Bork, plagarism, gaffe city) has helped us. Palin has in fact helped the Republican ticket — just look at all the people falling over themselves to minimize her. Obama will probably win, but the choice of Palin will not be the reason.

A convicted assassin was scheduled for execution. A vigilante mob, thinking the humane act of lethal injection too good for the convict, approached the site of execution with ropes and rifles. The warden, appearing above the crowd on one of the gun platforms that dot the catwalk atop the walls of the prison, tried to assuage the impossibly-possessed posse. “He’s good as dead. Why cant you all go home and let us do our jobs.”

“HANG HIM!” they chanted in an ever increasing cacaphony of oaths and shrieks.

Suddenly the warden offered the crowds an alternative. “I will give you a die-hard conservative from the evangelical lunatic fringe of the GOP, instead of the assassin. Do with him what you want”.

The crowd grew instantly and totally silent. Moments passed. “Well?” asked the warden.

“We’re thinking it over” responded the mob.

The “convicted assassin” is George W. Bush committing 9/11 for domestic control, false war profiteering, Roman Catholic/Rockefeller Big Oil, heroin, and the Saudi regime, in keeping with PNAC’s anti-American, Anti-Christ aspirations.

It is not a coincidence that his father killed John Kennedy six weeks after NSAM263 ordered our military out of Rome’s slave plantation of Vietnam, that his grandfather was Hitler’s banker, nor that his family has been fronting for the Vatican-banker creators of the Oil Monopoly through unredressed murder and arson, the Rockefellers, for five generations.

The People, E Pluribus Unum, is “warden” of America, and crucifixion was the only and specific punishment for one single crime under codified Roman law: the second conviction for sedition.

In territory conquered by Rome any denying the divinity of caesar committed sedition. Tens of thousands of faithful Jews were crucified during the occupation chronicled in the Dead Sea Scrolls Rome and Rockefeller managed to keep under wraps for 50 years after their discovery.

Sarah Palin is a lying hypocrite philistine unsuited for your analog in the “Jesus” role.

“On earth as it is in Heaven:” G-d is King of America…and is not mocked.

Adherents of popery and the “popery of government,” monarchy, Rome’s Fifth Column’s attempt to destroy American Exceptionalism’s godly, liberal Novus Ordo Seclorem threat to the thrones of king and pope, born as the ultimate fruit of the Age of Reason, are traitors against the American Dream, the Constitution, and the People. Through their false money Fed and promotion of illegal immigration they have contrived to usurp Our Republic.

It is no coincidence that Sarah Palin shares the views of Hitler and the gay, Hitler Youth pope’s pedophile homosexual priesthood on a woman’s sovereignty over her own body, nor her support for those in the Alaska Independent Party’s advocating secession from the U.S.A.

Bush is, like his father and grandfather, a traitor and an assassin. Their sectarian faction, the Roman Anti-Christ’s Fifth Column, which has brought America to the brink of the abyss, must, by the righteous hand of the People, receive its due that the People not perish and restore its own sovereignty.

Each American is being sifted. Stay your hand from the work it must do to restore G-d’s Land of Promise by bowing to the satanic, anti-American urges of racism, fascism, and slavery to sustain the Fifth Column’s agents - Married to the Mob McCain and Hitler-in-Drag Palin - or lay your hand on the rope and Constitution to render righteous judgment to those who, through the generations, have been proven to steal our wealth to enrich themselves at the expense of the People and the Constitution, shedding the blood of innocents.

McCain/Palin is the devil’s work from the scars in McCain’s face and soul seen through his blinking grin, countenanced lies, and history of immorality and failure, to Palin, the inbred whitetrash whose lies, hypocrisies, maternal failure, and promotion of division could be no less clear.

Obama/Biden, and Martin in Georgia, and like men and women across the Nation willing to help remove this evil from upon us, is a first step on the road to recovery.

The “assassin” must have its just reward to return to the Maker and heal its presently cancerous soul. G-d willing, The People, “the warden,” will make the proper and righteous election on November fourth.

As in chess, future moves must be considered mid-game: those deemed operatives of Anti-Christ attempting to steal three presidential elections in a row on behalf of those who cheated the present Closet-Queen-in-Chief into office to commit 9/11 must be recognized as “enemies domestic” by all military and military veterans who are still obedient to The Oath by which they have placed their lives at sacrifice for the Constitution and the Sovereign People.

Stand good by your Oath, talk to fellow Patriots, make plans and establish procedures. The Electorate’s divine will expressed through honest ballot must be manifest that Righteous America not perish but be restored to even greater Probity, Economy and Justice.

How Goldwater’s granddaughter votes has nothing to do with Barry. Why do we keep insisting that someone’s spouse, kids, now even two generations removed, fall lock-step in line with everything politically? Because Hillary lived in the White House, she has national-level experience to best Barack? Stephen Baldwin is a conservative Christian — is this indicative of his brothers? Each person is their own individual, and votes as such. This should be a non-story.

I think some are reading Ms. Ross’ comments rather differently than she might have intended. She didn’t say that she rejected the tenets of her grandfather’s conservatism (although that is certainly possible). She said that she doesn’t respect McCain because of insight gained from being in a political family. People who have paid attention to politics in Arizona over the years don’t have the same one-dimensional picture of McCain that has emerged from his national campaign. Having lived in Arizona for many years as McCain’s political career began and developed, I share her lack of enthusiasm for him, and would even if I didn’t disagree with him strongly on issues. Like Ms. Ross, I don’t respect him.

Um, perhaps why it is newsworthy is because it illustrates the absolute disgust that many of us Conservatives have towards the Republican party? I have voted Republican every election since 1992 (with the exception of 2004 when I voted for the Libertarian candidate). There is no way in hell I will ever vote for another Republican again.

It used to be that being a Republican meant you stood for something- now it has been taken over by born again zealots who kill with glee and condemn anybody who questions killing 60 afghani children with a JDAM as a Socialist or unamerican. It used to be that being a Conservative Republican meant being educated and well read. Now we a VP candidate who is a joke, who raised a family of knocked up high school drop outs and dismisses anyone with a college education that holds a point of view opposing hers as an “elitest.”

Good job, GOP- have fun getting you as**s handed to you in this landslide.

If members of the Goldwater family are deserting the Republican Party, this is a disaster for the GOP. The fact is, the late senator may not have made a good president but he was a good and decent man and a very honorable senator. He believed the Republicans had to stay out of the private lives of Americans and, therefore, supported a woman’s right to choose, gays in the military and he had an abiding belief the religious right was ruining the party.

McCain is the antithesis of all of those beliefs. And Palin is a pathetic excuse for a Republican. She is a moron who has no sense of what the party, much less this nation, stands for.

Shame on today’s Republican Party.
