Sarah Palin: Doesn’t know if she’ll play Tina Fey on SNL, but ‘I should.’

Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, said she doesn’t know whether she’ll play Tina Fey this week on “Saturday Night Live.”

But she should, the Alaskan governor said in an interview with Neal Boortz on WSB Radio this morning.

Listen to the eight-minute sound clip here.

Palin accused the media of subjecting her to a “double standard,” but vowed not to complain. “Those political shots that I take or my campaign takes, it’s nothing compared to the real, effective shots that too many Americans are taking right now,” she said.

In what’s likely to be her only interview with anyone in the Atlanta media during the campaign, Palin phoned into Boortz’ syndicated talk show.

Boortz tried to press Palin on her appearance on SNL, which has produced some hilariously brutal skits built around the vice presidential nominee and national novice’s early statements on foreign policy, her belief in creationism, and her disbelief in global warming:

Boortz: Aaaww. You’ve seen the script. C’mon.

Palin: I haven’t seen the script. Not at all. We haven’t been hinted, even, toward what that script’s going to say.

But I just want to be there to show Americans that we’ll rise above the political shots that we take, because we’re in this doing serious business for serious challenges that are facing good American people right now….

“[If] we can do that even, I guess, through a skit or two on “Saturday Night Live,” then so be it….

Boortz: Has the media been giving Sarah Palin a fair shake?

Palin: I think there’s certainly been some double standards at play here. That’s been very, very obvious.

But I’m not going to complain about it, because those political shots that I take or my campaign takes, it’s nothing compared to the real, effective shots that too many Americans are taking right now, those who are fearing losing their home or losing their job or fearing perhaps losing someone in the war zone.

Those are the things that really matter and I’m keeping things in perspective.

Political shots taken my way — if we can’t handle that now, then we have no business running for v.p. and president.

What a dangerous vicious airhead and to think she might be a heartbeat away from the presidency. If you have seen the transcripts from the Couric interviews you know what an airhead Palin is. She’s up to her eyeballs in Troopergate in Alaska. Katie Couric’s interview would even make Miss South Carolina wince. Lets hope after the election Palin goes back to troopergate and Wasala High.

After listening to 16 years of radical right wing radio attacks on Hillary Clinton, Mrs. Palin has a lot of nerve to cry about media double standards.

And she’s only been in the spotlight for 2 months!

Note to Mrs. Palin: if you want to repair your tarnished image, then quit yer hidin’!

That’s great Robert. So I guess it’s better to have Mr. Welfare man in office than to make people more responsible for their lives instead of having the government steal money that I worked hard for and give it to so lazy a%& person probably someone like you. You’re the airhead falling hook, line and sinker for the crap Obama the “chosen one” is pushing. That’s right sit on your fat a#$ and collect that welfare check like always. Jealous that some of us work for a living therefore you can’t obtain wealth by working for so you rather have the government steal it from hard working americans. You sir are a bum.

DH, so tell me, How much experience does Obama have? I can tell you, he’s got more experience in Rev Wright’s church—20 years to be exact— implementing the ‘Black Value System’, and he’s been friends with William Ayers, someone that bombed several locations—one killing a 3-yr old girl, got off on a technicality, and then writes a book, in which the front cover shows him standing on the American Flag and reads ‘Guilty as Hell,Free as a Bird, Greatest County on Earth’. Tell me, why would you want to vote for somebody that associates with people like this?? WHY would anyone want to vote for someone like this??? It shows how blind the American public really is.

Yes, Robert C., you certainly have the correct name and,if you think the next Vice President is an “airhead”,it just shows you like to live up to it. Next to Obama, Katie Couric and Charles Gibson live for their 30 minutes of “shame” each day to take shots at McClain and/or Palin. If Palin was an airhead, BIMBO black woman with a disfunctional family, crooked husband, pregnant unmarried daughter spurling republicain rhectoric, she would not be given the time of day for any candidancy, let alone newspaper quote. Because she is a white women, she has been allowed to “dummy down” the perception of women in politics and allowed to get mainstream coverage.

Now, if that’s not a double standard, I do not know what is. Ops, I forgot, she is invoking white feminist privilege again that says non-whites do not need to have laws to prevent arrogant, racist BIMBO’s from raping and robbing the USA capitalist system.

Palin is whole lot smarter than Joe Biden. At least she knows what the VP does and the role she could play. Joe Biden is so far out touch with America and foreign policy that it is not even funny. Come’on Robert, get a clue! Let’s hope that someone with real leadership experience gets elected and not someone playing a part in a limited leadership team! People are worried about voting for a VP that is a Governor and not worried about voting for a Senator that HAS NO EXPERIENCE other than a community organizer!!!! Obama’s tax plan does not even make sense, no matter how you crunch the numbers!! How can anyone vote for Sarah Palin? She can’t name a news source that she reads on a daily basis, she can’t cite supreme court cases she doesn’t agree with, she can’t state one example of McCain’s ‘maverick ways’ in the last 26 yrs that she thought was outstanding, she didn’t know what the bush doctrine was when asked about it. I’m sure we all want a VP that doesn’t read current events, doesn’t know simple American History, and not to mention one that doesn’t know of their running mates accomplishments! If you like Obama or not is one thing, but to say that this is a prime candidate for VP is an absolute lie. Sure she energize the GOP for about a week, but then the interviews happened. She totally dropped the ball on questions that 5th graders on Fox would have won a million dollars answering.

It is sad and surprising to see that people think Obama got a free ride - he did not enter his “race” when he applied to law school and got in to Harvard Law - he has worked with communities filled with people who need assistance learning how to apply for a job, get training - I don’t understand the venom. Sarah Palin is not close to being ready to be the president - she talks about education, she has a future son-in-law who has dropped out of high school to work as an electrician’s apprentice, I have a son who is an electrician and he had to have a high school degree to apply and take couses at a community college when he was an apprentice - rules seem to have been changed in the unions of Alaska for him. Her daughter, many pregnant teens graduate from high school, this is the minimum education requirement for our children who are our future leaders. According to the Alaska papers her son was given a choice of jail or the Army resulting from his actions that caused damage to school buses. Is this really what America wants?

She created the double standard for herself and put women back decades. How do you say take me seriously, but wink at the camera so many times, then look as if you are answering questions to be the next beauty queen? Women who are serious and have self decorum would not allow anyone to suggest act dumb at an interview- hopefully it was an act- because I need to see the real person. Obama has shown his education and has passion for the past two years, so I can say that I know him more than Sara Palin.

As for who people associate with, she associates with known adulterers- her spouse and McCain. In GA that is still a crime on the books. These are her inner circle established relationships, but Obama’s relationship with Ayers is on a board and in the community. Church affiliation criticism is just plain dumb. I don’t attend every church event and meeting so if I am running for office, should I be denounced by blondes if my minister shares dumb blonde jokes? We cannot control and know everything about people we know by name. How many of us actually share with all the people we know, including our employers, that we break the traffic laws everyday. It may be a small law to me, but to someone else it is the law of the land, and following rules/laws no matter how archaic is of the utmost. So grow up and stop harping on people’s associations. The same club you use to bash someone, should be the same club used on you and your own with the same amount or more strength. She running for something and people are need to be concerned what is it that she is looking to do. Her platform of using negativity does not square with McCains plan ( you can do dirt but not nasty dirty as she would love to do).

As a Republican, I need someone to explain to me this great executive experienc that Palin has. Who can’t make executive decisions? Remember, it took her 7 years and 6 schools to graduate with a college degree. She was Mayor of a tiny city by winning with 1500 votes. She thinks she has foreign policy experience because she’s close to Russia…even though she can’t actually see it from her house as she stated. Obama is clearly smarter than McCain or Palin. So, I want the smartest person making the executive decision, not the least knowledgeable person.

Raise your hand if you want to have bigger controling government that wants to babysit special interest and allow many unmotivated people an out to live in mediocrity. Vote for Obama! Raise your hand if you want to keep more of what you make, and push further if that is what you choose to do. Vote for McCain! At the end of the day all wipe away all the smear and crap and this is really the bottom line. Each candidate will tackle every issue with some degrees of differences leaning to their parties fundamentals. This is all that matters. Also, if Palin ended up becoming president because of something happening to McCain down the road how many decisions does the president actually make? No president makes many decisions on their own, and thanks to our way of government that is how it works. The president is the person delivering the news!

Palin if qualified should be on the campaign trail around America helping McCain get the election. It does not make much sense that she is the VP nominee and we don’t hear or see her.

If the Republicans are as crass and deviant as I think they are, maybe they set up McCain with Palin to make sure he loses and goes away for good. They are Republicans you know.

All the talk of welfare and stealing money from hard working americans is a crock of s**. Under Obama’s plan if you make under $120,000 the government takes less of your money than under mccain’s plan. Look it up if you don’t believe me. They take $800 less if you make under $65,000. For me I get about $400 less taken from me. I’m voting for Obama. If you make over 250,000 you should vote Mccain but don’t expect me to feel sorry that you have to pay higher taxes. Booh, Hooo….poor guy makes over a quarter million dollars a year and has to pay high taxes. If you are blessed you shouldn’t mind paying for the less fortunate

Ok, I may be missing something here, but I have seen several of you ask why Palin has not had a news conference since being nominated for VP. Well I have a question for those of you who ask this. Why hasn’t Joe Biden done the same?? Yes McCain and Obama have press conferences because they are at the top of the ticket, but I rarely ever see where the VP candidates give news conferences. If you are going to hit her on that, then hit Biden on it too. She is right about the double standard. She still has more experience than Obama.

To THETRUTH, I’m pleased that you brought up Sen. Obama’s past. That makes Sen. McCain’s and Gov. Palin’s past fair game. Let’s discuss Keating 5 and McCain’s involvement. How fortunate for him to only receive a censure from the senate instead of well deserved jail time. I really admire how he cheated on his first wife with that drug addicted pop tart while she was suffering from immense pain. Oh, and I really like that Todd Palin is privy to proprietary government information shared by his wife. I especially like how Saint Palin violated her sacred vows (said not in front of a minister, but a judge) by cheating on her husband five years ago. Yet, you want Sen. Obama to be responsible for the actions of other people? As a Catholic there are things that are said during mass of which I don’t always agree. The fact that Pope Benedict was once a nazi doesn’t make me entirely proud. However, I cannot be responsible for something someone said or did to which I had no part. I think that before the McCain/Palin ticket starts passing judgment on anyone, they might need to take a careful look at their past indiscretions. You might want to focus on the issues that are plaguing our country, unless you don’t mind paying outrageous prices for the basic necessities. I hope that you take the opportunity to pick up a book or read a newspaper and learn the facts.

You are the type of people who keep the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons in business.

Well in just a very short time, this great country will elect it’s next great leader. A man of intellect and true character. Most of us will be hoping he succeeds, but there will be those who will openly hope for his failure.

I feel sorry for you, the country and world is moving on and you’re scared. We aren’t fooled by all this talk of welfare, socialism, affirmative action. We all know it’s code for race.

Back to McCain/Palin - give it up conservatives. High taxes, lower taxes, blah, blah…until people really get the idea of help each other out, you can only run as a country as good as your weakest issues. I do OK and I don’t mind spreading the wealth, but other wealthy people really should understand the ecomony suck now because of the rich got greedy with banking, mortgages, credit, etc.

I am so tired of all of this. Washington and Adams feared that we would devolve into a Party system and Jefferson led us into one. We are at our best when we pull together which is certainly not what we are doing right now. There are fundamental differences between the two Presidential candidates that give us a real choice in this election. More Government vs less Government. More regulation vs less regulation. Capitalism and free markets with the correseponding greater market volatility vs more central control, less volatility and probably slower economic growth. Wealth opportunity vs wealth redistribution. Real choices of substance. But despite the philosophical schism between the two candidates we will select one President. How do we support that one person and give him ( or her ) the chance to exercise his vision when the radicals in both parties are spewing so much hatred during the selection process. Where is the civilty? Where is the Class? Why does it have to be so personalized? Does anyone really think Gov Palin is stupid. She may have performed poorly with Couric but she is not stupid. Is Obama a terrorist— I doubt it — . Get off of the personal attacks you radical creeps ( both parties ). You are doing all of us a disservice. The great middle of Americans want a leader with courage, who can pull us together while describing an American direction we can be proud of. We need a “Great American Middle ” party that will marginalize the fringe radicals like Limbaugh and Maher and let us make choices on substance not buzz words.

Didn’t Obama say there was one America and he will represent everyone? So now he states tax cuts only for the middle class and he get’s to define middle class. So he is not representing the people he plans to steal money from and give it others who did not earn it. I think there was a book about this called Robin Hood. So what does a community worker get paid or a representative in Illinois—-must be good to buy a multi million dollar home——- who did he take this money from,,,,, oh that’s right the Syrian guy who is doing jail time for stealing money———- maybe Obama can get us all a crooked middle eastern guy to buy big homes for us.——- What is this ACORN deal————— Obama using other people’s money to rearrange the votes to favor him in the election——— thought buying votes or stealing them was illegal——— I forgot it is Obama the mighty one—————does not need laws————-He knows nothing about the military put him in charge, maybe he can steal the Americans guns and give them to the enemy, sort of spreading the wealth————this way the war will be over faster, we just lose and if you think the economy is bad now wait until the terroist and the oil pumping countries run over the USA, there will not be an economy———- put that is the plan under Obama, note that Marx had the same plan—— one socialist nation instead of Marxism it will be an Obamanation.

*I’m sick and tired of ignorant people’s rhetoric. Some of whom have never paid attention to politics, others of whom have acquired all of their information from biased cutlural outlets. That’s insufficient and unacceptable. Adopting a parties ideologies should be done only after doing a bit of research in order to make an informed decision. Furthermore, choosing to vote for a candidate because he has identified with a party is also shocking. Many candidates, have chose to allign with a party but share very little in common with the party’s ideologies.
I’m also very disappointed in so many of whom have voted republican. Many of whom have chosen this party because of culture or race. These parties were not designed to segregate America nor as a means of defining socio-economic classes. Whomever thought that “rich people are Republicans” and “poor people are Democrats” are seriously missing a few screws.
As far as Palin is concerned, she has demonstrated a lack of knowledge on a number of very important issues. The ability to make a decision is not in question. The ability to make the best decision is. This requires knowledge, wisdom and a demonstrated ability to make a good decions based on available information. I’m not sure why this is so hard to comprehend. Palin knows little if anything more than I do about her role and its dependencies and she is no more qualified for the office of the Vice Presidency than she is for the position of Harvard Law Professor. *

Great heavens…love to hear the hate filled voices of the Left! You Dems are always the first to start the name calling, and the hate mongering.

Most of you that claim you’ll vote for Obama/Biden, refuse to hear anything about him regardless of whether it’s good or bad. The man’s direct contact with radical Islam, his direct involvement with ACORN and the NATIONAL voter fraud, and on and on. You folks are certainly proving to be exactly what your party’s symbol is - the jackass.

The greatest double standard perpetrated on the US citizenship since the hanging chad with the treatment of Ms Palin - so typical.

The party that is screaming ‘CHANGE’ and yet your VP is one of the prime archtypical old-school professional politicians in Washington. Good grief, what a joke. Looks like Joe the Plumber hit it right on the head, sounds Marxism to me too, Joe.

The cult-of-personality, wet behind the ears, ‘what hollywood says is law’, it’s-all-about-me, generation finally gets its chance to be disappointed too. What a bunch of leftist jerk-offs you people are. The only thing that’s going to change is how many ways you’ll be called a racist whenever you disagree with Obamamamma - if you don’t believe it, just read some of the preceeding posts.

Well, just like the FannieMae/FreddieMac collapse that the Dems engineered, all your liberal dreams will come crashing down in four years - I just can’t wait; you think you’re hearing cries of ‘racism’ NOW??

First of all, since you’re posting barely intelligible comments to an AJC blog entry, you can’t be very successful. (I know I’m not.) More importantly, you’re grossly misinformed: Rich people (elitists, as Palinesque hill folk like to call them)—Biglaw attorneys, investment bankers, hedge fund managers, venture capitalists, Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, management consultants, etc.—disproportionately support Obama (see David Brook’s column in the Times). Republicans like you, presumably a Limbaugh/Hannity parrot, are usually unremarkable middle-managers or small business owners who only think they’re wealthy, because they’ve never been around serious money. Fact: Barack Obama’s statement doesn’t even come close to be true. According to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, Barack Obama will increase spending by $425 billion over his first term. However, he is only planning $144 billion in spending cuts. This results in a net increase in the deficit by $281 billion.

Muslims are known far and wide for their strict views. Therefore no tight uniforms, no cheerleaders, no games, no fun. Look at that area of the world, they live in…. caves and under rocks. They have no idea what civilization is and furthermore they despise people like Americans. Obama can claim he is not a Muslim but relationships shows a lot more than words can and look who is his closest friends overseas are, murderers.

Uplift….

Bill Ayers did not go to prison because the federal case against him was thrown out of court because of a “illeagal wiretapping” by the police.

If not for that, he would have been convicted.

This would be the answer if the question is was “If William Ayers is such a terrorist or a THREAT to our country, why is he not in prison?”

I don’t believe he is a TREAT to our country.

I tried to keep this simple for you. If you really want to know, this information is easy to find - GOOGLE….

The good news is no gets killed. All the democrats run to Canada and we don’t have to listen to them cry and play the race card when they can’t get their way.

God bless the USA or is it GD the USA? I guess will find out Nov. 4th.

I would like to take a look at that myself. Even if he is a Muslim, wasn’t this country built on freedom of religion? Do you people think that all Muslims are terrorist? Is it a criteria that the President of the USA must be Christian. Please, somebody answer that question for me. I thought people fled to this country to be free of religious persecution.

Mccain is a decent choice but if you think Palin is even remotely qualified than you need to take the blinders off. Palin was a bad move to get the woman vote. When I looked at McCain’s thirty year career on Capitol Hill, I saw nothing that jumped out at me as note worthy. Seemingly, his signature (accomplishment?) had to due with campaign financing. Who is impressed? That doesn’t put bread on anyone’s table. Does it? McCain voted to race into Iraq, which has, in turn led to the death and destruction of untold millions, a trillion dollar tax burden on Americans and the virtual destruction of America’s moral standing in the world. That needless trillion dollar black hole in Iraq is one from which no one can escape except our allies.

Here is McCain, who declares that he hates wars, has not bothered to apologize to America and the families, who have lost sons and daughters so needlessly in Iraq due in no small part to his vote to send them there. Over four thousand young Americans will never come home again and McCain refuses to acknowledge his responsibility and apologize. We are left to guess how many subordinates he hammered during his military career for failing to step up to the plate of responsibility. Here we have a military hero, who is setting lower standards for himself and for his VP choice, Sarah Palin. If under investigation, how many of you could be selected to fill a VP position in any company let alone the VP of the U.S.A? If she becomes VP, then we will have someone, who was cited for ethical violations in the State of which she was Governor. If McCain and Palin are so readily willing to thumb their noses at ethical standards of a State, they are not going to change their ways when given even more power. Things just don’t work that way. If fact, they are more likely to think that laws are for others to follow, not them. There is a long standing requirement that workers, especially government employees, avoid even the appearance of impropriety. McCain and Palin have shown that such requirements don’t apply to them. Invariably, criminal activities in high places start with the ignoring of ethical standards. The Nixon administration moved from one to the other.

In this campaign, McCain stole Obama’s “change” ideas and is using them as his own. After thirty years on the Hill, one would think that McCain would be capable of independent thinking. That’s not the case. He used Britney Spears and Paris Hilton in attack ads without their permission. He is a user of women. A user will also abuse. In this connection, McCain shows a propensity to do just that. He is seventy two years old. Yet, he thinks nothing of cannibalizing care, time and attention from a two year old special needs child in order to advance his own political ambitions.

McCain’s display of poor judgment is without end. He picked Sarah Palin to be his running mate knowing that she was under investigation in her State. He thereby injected bitter, D.C. partisan politics into a local State affair. He thought nothing of Alaskan officials, who were doing their official duties. He is using Palin as a distraction, which she is proving herself to be.

Taking a note out of Donald Rumsfeld’s book, McCain stated during the last debate that he knows where Bin Laden is and he knows how to get him. What a bunch of self-serving sophistry to fool people. For six years this country has expended untold resources trying to locate and capture Bin Laden. We will never know how many American lives have been lost in that effort to date; and, the search goes on. McCain touts the number of trips he has taken to the Middle East and spoken with the Generals, who have “boots on the ground”. Isn’t it strange that McCain has not divulged such crucial and critical information to the Generals? What kind of patriotism, loyalty and love of country is it that one would withhold such pertinent information? Further, why hasn’t he told President Bush, a fellow GOP?

The above serve to touch on the poor judgment and poorer decision-making aspects of John McCain. Finally, he seals the deal by asking Americans to keep their fast diminishing 401ks on a losing horse, the GOP. What McCain is shoveling, watch out and don’t step in it.

What that means is-taking away Israeli land and giving it to the Palestinians, he is ending the Iraq war because his Muslim brothers are getting kiled, he will raise taxes on everything so that our system will be based on communism, which takes from the rich and gives to the poor. He willinvoke sharia Law, he WILL make Whites PAY REPARATIONS and then, make slaves of them. The Democrats in congress will be leaving the USA for their homes off shore-Cayman Islands, etc. If you’ve noticed, he doesNOT allow you to criticize him-he wants to be AYATOLLAH. I am sickened by the amount of venomous, unwarranted attacks on each other in the name of partisanship. The issues that strike at the very core of who we are as people are far more complicated than a donkey or elephant. It is disingenuous of Repubicans to categorize all Democrats as lovers of big government. The size of government is essentially the same under either party, the essential difference lies in how you want your taxes spent; i.e. defense, or social programs. Is it such an outlandish notion to expect your government to provide services for the tax monies you fork over? How did lamenting the high price of gas, groceries, or the Iraqi War become partisan issues? Can’t we complain simply as Americans, when the government, no matter the party in power, is sticking it to us and say “no more!”

This is so crazy. Some of you would rather vote for a ticket that shows no concern for you or your family. This party has: taken your children and sent them off to war, some have died. Taken your homes from you. Taken your jobs from you. You have no credit. Made a perfect shambles of the education system and you still want to vote for them. You are voting for the Republican Party because you think they will get into office and repeal the Civil Rights Act and you can once again pretend that you are rich and own slaves! The odds are, your family never did own slaves and they came here owing money to someone. You better stop your crazy pipe dreams and start thinking about yourselves. Those people have fooled you twice. If you’ve noticed, they never did one thing you were hoping for. No Row vs. Wade reversal, no major ruling on Gay Marriage, and no repeal of tax laws and your taxes went up! Are you crazy! They make their appeal to the people who want Jim Crow to return to the land. They know you don’t know any better, cause you didn’t go to school long enough to learn anything. For once in your life, think about your own needs and the needs of your family. Don’t fool yourself, John McCain is not concerned about his job. He doesn’t need it. After listening to 16 years of radical right wing radio attacks on Hillary Clinton, Mrs. Palin has a lot of nerve to cry about media double standards.

Why is the Democrats can’t get it through their thick skulls, there is a major difference between talk radio and the “actual” news. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and others with the exception of Fox have been on a witchhunt from day one trying to find negative information on McCain and Palin especially. They have refuse to report the “facts” on Obama while constantly downplaying anything from the McCain camp. This isn’t observation, this is a fact. We have known for years newspaper sources such as the “Urinal and Constipation”, the Washington P**, and the NY Tombs have been bias. But when someone sits down at night for the evening news they expect unbias non-opinionated facts. Anyone else notice this morning where Newt put Diane Sawyer in her place when she was trying to pitch for Obama? It was priceless.

Hell, maybe if the dumbass gets elected he can invite Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Bin Laden, Chavez, all of Iran and Syria’s leaders and just all pile up in a bed in the Whitehouse while they screw over the American workers!

Sarah only talks to her Amen Corner. This absolutely disqualifies her for any thoughtful voter. The extreme right like Boortz, Hannity and Limbaugh try to make her seem impressive by throwing her softballs. But they all ask her the same type of silly questions and make the same type of right-wing silly comments that she, of course, agrees with. She failed miserably her tests with TV interviews. McCain has put her in a cage to minimize the damage. However, she can read scripts while John and ever-present Cindy stand behind her. Please let Sarah rest in peace and send her back to Alaska.

I’m a young black male who was undecided on who I was going to vote for. We have people voting based on the “just because” factor. However; I have followed this campaign closely as I have ever done before, listening to both parties and deciding on which one would be a better choice for my kids, wife, and the rest of my family. Somehow people show their real sides & express their true feelings in times of challenges & controveries. The Ayers thing seemed to turn people against Obama & almost including me, but after I heard his response, I thought he did an excellent job explaining himself thoroughly on that topic during the debate. Hell, I grew up w/ kids that did bad things also & I’m pretty sure there’s more of you out there. When Letterman asked McCain about his relationship w/ G. Gordon Liddy, I saw some uneasiness in his face. In closing, do what is best for the future of our kids.

Forget experience. Don’t you remember that four years ago America elected a man who had been president for four years…and had further executive experience as the governor of Texas. To top it off, his father had been president. Did all of that experience help? His second term was worse than the first. So…arguing about experience is a waste of time. Let’s take a look at something else that would make a good leader. How about intelligence? I doubt that anyone could argue convincingly that McCain and Palin are smarter than Obama and Biden, which is the main reason they are going to win this election. Sure, Biden thinks that “jobs” is a three letter word but you know what I’m talking about - an you know I’m right. Obama will be the next president. The republicans have four years to find someone who embodies their ideals without being so divisive. I’ll bet you any amount that it won’t be Sarah Palin.

My vote for Obama will be made with great enthusiasm. I believe he is the kind of inspirational leader who will make us all look beyond the divisive ideology that the Republicans have been spewing and thrust us - mentally - into a bright and prosperous future. Americans are natural leaders, we are innovators, we like to think about the future and rise to the various challenges that come our way. That said, my vote for Obama is as much for Obama as it is against - not just John McCain - the entire Republican party and their religously-driven platform. I know that Republicans - failing to find bin Laden - have instead made the ‘elites’ the common enemy, after the ‘liberal media.’ That bothers me, because it’s one thing for us all to be ‘against’ Russia or Syria or the Palestians or the Chinese or terrorists, but it’s quite another when the party in power chooses to vilify American citizens. And just when pray tell did it become a bad thing to have a good education? Just when did it become unAmerican to aspire to quit the sphere you were born in? Isn’t that the American way? And just when did it become a good thing to try to make fellow Americans the enemy? It’s WRONG!
I want leadership. And not just leadership in our own country - with our problematic economy and jobs and health care - I want America to figure out the way out of the various messes the world is in. I want the smartest, best people put in charge of finding solutions to global warming, overpopulation, overfishing, the food supply, the energy situation, our dealings with terrorist states (like the state we’ve created called the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan),… We need our best and brightest people on these problems. It’s my opinion that there’s not much time to lose. Republicans have been at the helm of our country - with the exception of the Clinton years - since 1980. What do we have to show for it? Have we had leadership? No. We should have left no f-ing rock unturned until we found that sob bin Laden and strung his butt up. Did we? No! We got snookered into two endless wars - one with the country who CONTINUES TO SUPPLY most of the world’s heroin, and the second with a country we had no particular quarrel with mostly because - I think - the now-dead leader of that country tried to mess with our president’s daddy. Have we had any sort of bi-partisan effort to reach across the aisle? Heck no! Did George Bush act humble when he ‘won’ in 2000? Nope, he acted like he had gotten a mandate from the almighty. He spurned the Kyoto treaty, reimposed the global gag rule, and that was just the start. I’m ready for a change. I’ll take a Harvard-educated attorney over a spoiled brat 3rd generation legacy who graduated so close to the bottom of his class that he could lick the floor. I see no signs that John McCain is any sort of leader - he’s just drifted into politics…
Give me Obama/Biden. I know I’ll be better off 8 years down the road, and I know the country will be too.

Randy, calm down my friend. You are correct in the fact that I don’t own a Cadillac, I’m not too partial to them. I don’t need to name the business because the only reason that I brought that up is the fact that Obama’s economic plan would effect us, but that alone is not enough to keep me from voting for a particular candidate. All we would need to do is make adjustments. I have researched my information, I just question you because you are only saying things that through my research has no basis in truth. I don’t understand how I can ask you a simple question without saying anything that should have offended you, I don’t use name calling and put down tactics to get my point across. I could care less if you think I am on welfare or don’t own a Cadillac, I don’t know you and you don’t know me. All I ever do on these blogs is try to have an intelligent conversation, but it never happens, and that goes for Democrats, liberals, Republicans and conservatives. I don’t know why I even responded to your post directed to me, but I did. If you want to pick a fight where I will lose my composure and resort to your tactics, you are sadly mistaken my friend. Palin was mayor of a town of 5000 for 8 years; Roswell has almost 90,000 residents.

Palin went to 5 (unknown) colleges for 6 years to get a degree.

Palin has been Governor of a state of 687,000. Metro Atlanta has a pop of over 5,000,000.

Obama went to Columbia (one of nation’s top colleges for those of you who can barely read) and graduated Magna cum Laude from Harvard Law School.

Obama was a constitutional law professor at the University of Chicago for 12 years.

Obama was an Illinois State Senator for 8 years.

Obama is now a United States Senator.

You have to be a moron to think Palin’s qualifications compare to Obama.

Vote for whomever you want, but don’t you realize that Palin is not allowed to answer questions in open forums? Are you people so stupid that you don’t get that she CAN’T answer intelligently?

Palin is no role model for the women of America and is in fact an insult to the great ladies who came before her and fought for womens’ right to vote, equal pay, reproductive rights, family leave and so much more. And how can she cry about a double standard when Hillary Clinton - a woman much more intelligent and qualified than Palin - has been taking shots from the right wing since 1992? The hypocrisy of the right wing is what will cause their downfall on Nov. 4.

So much hate on this blog, I wish the AJC would shut it down. I will be voting for McCain in November but it will be with a somber heart. You see, I am voting for the lesser evil this election because it is better voting for the person that resembles the Democrat over the Socialist Obama. That’s right, Obama is a Socialist because he will be taking more from the people who have been funding our taxes (the rich) and “giving it back to the middle class and poor.” My question is why do people who pay absolutely no taxes deserve a “tax break?” On the same token, the guy has trillions of money he wants to spend right away. Do you actually think he is going to be able to get that money strictly from the rich? His spending will DESTROY the middle class and make the poor even more dependant on the Government.

Think about this for a second, have you ever gained employment from someone who was poor? The “rich” are the people who give jobs to middle class folks like me. Tax the snot out of them and they will cut jobs so they can survive…. Wake up people, we are about to elect someone who even scares some Democrats.

And for those of you who are giddy about Nationalized healthcare, just ask the Canadians or Europeans what it’s like to wait a year for a cat scan or surgery to remove a brain tumor….

I’m still proud to be an American even with all the hatred being expounded on this blog. God bless you all…

I fear for what will be referred to as this “once great country”… I cannot believe all the people with their heads in the sand! Obummer is aligned with people of HATE & terrorist to boot!! Why can normal educated people see that??

    This

election has me very worried. So many things to consider. I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with. About six months ago, I started thinking ‘where did the money come from for Obama’. I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans. I started looking into Obama’s life. Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. ‘Barry’ (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a ‘round the world’ trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family. My question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap! to say the least. Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York. By ‘chance’ he met Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Decade’ by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association’. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented ‘Rezar’ which Rezko’s firm. Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with ‘seed money’ for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko. Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama’s boss. She is now Obama’s chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy? On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was ‘sacked’ after the press found out he was having regular contacts with ‘Hamas’, which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran. This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama’s visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will ‘Take care of things’. Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those ‘small’ Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East? And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on ‘This Week’ with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, ‘My Muslim faith’. When questioned, ‘he made a mistake’. Some mistake! All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008. Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven’t all of our ‘intelligent’ members of the press been reporting this? A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - ‘Beware of the enemy from within’

Here’s the deal folks as it was well stated earlier:

No matter what party you belong, Why is it that the economy and world affairs seem to be smoother and stronger under Democratic leadership than Republican?

Let’s face it, neither option for the White House will not give us real change. Our country will not become a socialist government, the Consumer of this country won’t allow it. The Consumers will be the ones that get us out of economic mess that we’re in. We can only hope that somehow, someway the person that wins the White House will hold the crooks on Wall Street & in the Banking Industy accountable for the mess that we’re dealing with and reform those industries. Quit bickering about this, you all sound like Monday morning quarterbacks.

Start doing more than just voting. Demand better from our local politicians. That’s how we get better representation from D.C.

Just to correct the record, Palin HAS had 2 press conference with her large contingent of travelling embedded reporters in the last few weeks. The only thing that made news was the fact she DID have the press conferences—however there wasn’t a lot new to report (and no gaffes, etc. which would’ve made news). Come to think of it, when was the last time Obama or McCain had a press conference? All of these candidates have been compaigning, travelling to 3-4 events a day all over the country, and there has been very little time for press conferences.

gatech92, I agree with that statement, but all I was saying is that it is coming from both sides. We shouldn’t just point fingers at the left or the right. Hell, I don’t think that there is any candidate that will satisfy everyone in the USA. That is impossible. All I ask of the people on this blog is that whoever wins, as Americans, we need to stand behind them and show the rest of the world a strong, united front. If you are not capable of doing that, then maybe you might want to seriously think about moving to another country. The division in this country, whether it be political, socio-economical, or racial is what is tearing this great country of ours apart. So after the election, put our differences aside and try to do what we can do to make this country a better place and remain the greatest, most powerful country in the world.

    Elect ME - Bill Cosby

I HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE.

    HERE IS MY PLATFORM:

    (1) ‘Press 1 for English’ is immediately banned. English is the official language; speak it or wait at the border until you can.

    (2) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to straighten out the country’s attitude. NO imports, no exports. We will use the ‘Wal-Mart’s policy, ‘If we ain’t got it, you don’t need it.’

    (3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

    (4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border. (six month tour) They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

    (5) Social security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn’t put nuttin in, you ain’t gettin nuttin out. The president nor any other politician will not be able to touch it.

    (6) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week and the successful completion of urinalysis and a passing grade.

    (7) Professional Athletes —Steroids - The FIRST time you check positive you’re banned for life.

    (8) Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method, the first time you steal, you lose your right hand. There is no more life sentences. If convicted, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for your victim; gun, knife, strangulation, etc.

    (9) One export will be allowed; Wheat, The world needs to eat. A bushel of wheat will be the exact price of a barrel of oil..

    (10) All foreign aid using American taxpayer money will immediately cease, and the saved money will pay off the national debt and ultimately lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we’ll ask the American people if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision whether it’s a worthy cause.

    (11) The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school and every day in Congress.

    (12) The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.

Sorry if I stepped on anyone’s toes but a vote for me will get you better than what you have, and better than what you’re gonna get. Thanks for listening, and remember to write in my name on the ballot in November. God Bless America !!!!!!!!!!!

And while you’re reading search for ‘the truth’ on why his wife was wearing a hand brace recently, who squeezed her arm so tight that she required medical attention? hmmm.

*You have to be a moron to think Palin’s qualifications compare to Obama.

Vote for whomever you want, but don’t you realize that Palin is not allowed to answer questions in open forums? Are you people so stupid that you don’t get that she CAN’T answer intelligently?*

A moron are those that continue to believe that you actually can “vote” for Palin. You see the ballot list Obama, Barr, and McCain as the choices.I’m not sure why some Obama fanatics (not all) keep comparing Obama to Bush or Palin. McCain and Barr are on the other tickets so when comparing to Obama use their qualifications. If you want to square up running mates, then that is fine and part of me does feel that Biden is better qualified than Palin, but you see the Vice President is really just a cheerleader and firm supporter of the President. Can you name a Vice President in the past 30 years you thought would make a good President. Gore? what a joke! Chenney? you have to be kidding! Bush senior was elected but we saw how well that worked out. It’s hard to think back when a Vice-President assumed the duties of President, Ford wasn’t prepared either, but it was something the country had to deal with. The point is, I don’t think anyone has really looked at a vice-President for qualifications. They are really there to help the President get a boost and Palin is a great cheerleader.

    October 17, 2008 4:19 PM | Link to this

First off, I consider myself an independent and I’m female. I’m just without words, just floored how you guys believe that Palin is credible for the job as VP or even President. Most of you as business owners would never even offer her a job. Can’t you see that she’s extremely limited and is way out of her league? I want a woman in leadership, but I don’t want to embarrass my country. She will make us look like a bunch of illiterate fools. Just keep listening to her, listen to her speak. She cannot put her words together without being coached. The world is watching. Did you hear the latest with her placing New Hampshire in the Pacific Northwest? Hillary, with all the baggage she has is an extraordinary woman. She can match wits with any dictator, go toe to toe with any world leader. She is an extraordinarily learned woman. Her debate performances were stellar, she thinks on her feet, you can place her in any position of leadership with confidence in knowing that she will do it and do it with excellence. When Palin speaks, I cringe or just shake my head in utter disbelief. The party is dressing her up and passing her off as something she cannot be. Don’t you guys see this? It’s like a man in drag, no matter how you dress it up, it ain’t no lady.

Another issue here, how do you compare her to a Columbia/Harvard grad, arguably the most difficult school in the world to get into let along graduate from with honors? She is a robot that’s programmed to spit out campaign slogans. I am absolutely convinced that she cannot think for herself. Her eyes look void of understanding, her head empty and her mouth spews incoherent stupidity. The guy from CNN, Fareed Zakaria called it well; he said McCain choosing Palin was fundamentally irresponsible. That our country was not placed first in this decision, it was about votes. Now, can you transcend that to the economy and other crisis that’s facing this nation? We were not placed first; we are being toyed with like children. Zakaria further added, with incredible insight, that when she answers questions, it’s like she never thought about the subjects and is dangerously ignorant and unprepared. She simply does not have a clue, cannot express a coherent thought.

Wake up people. How does she represent you? McCain on the other had, at 72, does not have a vested interest in changing what’s going on here, being president has more to do with ambition than helping you or me. His millions have made him out of touch with Joe the plumber and with me. He claims to have experience, but, what has he done in nearly 30yrs that makes you think he can offer something new, what can he really offer us that he’s not yet offered in 30years? Why do you think he was unable to get the party nomination in the years he’s tried to be president. Another thing, if he can turn is back on his family (like he did with his first wife), for a trophy with millions, where are his loyalties really? We need fresh leadership from someone who benefited from the American dream. A 72 year old man at this point should serve us like Jimmy Carter does, not as president. I am absolutely convinced, had Barack Obama been a white man (similar to Clinton, humble beginnings, a scholar, barely making upper middle class), the polls would show a staggering foreseeable victory. Racism is a result of fear and unfounded hatred; it’s your mind dividing you from the diversity that God himself has created. Keep in mind, Obama is genetically equally black as he is white, he represents everyone. It’s the racially motiviated laws that has classified him as black. Had he married a white woman, his kids would be white.

Take the thorns out of your eyes and see that regardless of color, Barack Obama has more in common with you and me than McCain and Palin. I am loyal to no party and no man. I am loyal to my family and my children, keeping food on the table and working my hands to the bone to keep us above water. I voted Republican in the last 2 elections, but not this year. My husband says, “a fool is someone who does the very same thing each day, but expects a different result”. Voting for McCain is just that, being foolish that things will change.

You know, this is a reall sad day for America. In the year 2008, we still have all this hate for one another because we are different from each other. That is just ridiculous. If you don’t like someone for whatever reason, keep it to yourself. Don’t spew your hate to other people. Let them form their own oppinions about a person. If you all are interested in what BOTH candidates stand for and what they are bringing to the table, then go onto their websites and review their platforms. Being angry at one another is not going to turn the economy around, its not going to keep us from losing our homes, jobs, 401K’s etc. Its only going to further divide us. WE ALL NEED TO GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL HANDBOOK-THE BIBLE- (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) and re-educate ourselves on how we are suppose to treat each other. Its insane to believe that operating under the same policies will bring about the much needed change. I don’t know which candidate has the best plan to turn the economy around, we really can’t get to heart of the matter because there is so much hate, ignorance, and fear being thrown into the mix. Its time to let all of this go people, we are not helping ourselves, we are showing our enemies that are defenses are down, and we are weak right now, all of this bickering amongst each other is just childish and UNAMERICAN. We are our brothers keeper, whether we want to be or not, that is the way OUR FATHER designed it to be. To turn your back on your fellow man, and not lend a helping hand is really UNAMERICAN. No we are not responsible for poor decision makers, schemers, crooks or thieves, but think about it, not everyone got into their situation because of poor planning, some people are directly affected by an indirect cause-job loss, death of a spouse, divorce, whatever, NOT EVERYONE lives above their means, some people are just victims of hard luck. All of you are hating on each other, think about the person that is going to lose their house on the 1st Tuesday of November, or JOE THE DAMN PLUMBER who has a tax lien filed against him, was that because of mismanagement on his behalf? Not trying to be a socialist, just trying to bring some peace and understanding in a very confused, misunderstood world. Learn to love each other America…

He has stated publicly that he does not support reparations for blacks, let me clue you in, any black looking individual that does not support reparations for blacks is not pro-black, and if they are not pro-balck then they are pro-white.

The hard truth is that no one is for pro-grey and that’s why you caucasians are scared, not for what Obama has represented in his carrer and his campaigning but for what you know is your position, you know that you are first and foremost pro-caucasian, you know that you cannot honestly be anything else, therefore you expect that Obama musta also be pro-something more than the other, and since he looks more black than caucasian, married to a very African looking woman, it scares the bejesus out of you that he just might be pro-black.

But rest assured you have more to gain from Obama winning than the black man.

Nor did he ask her about her lie that she sold a state plane on ebay. She did not. Nor did he ask her about her lie regarding the bridge to nowhere. She supported it while running for governor of iceland. Boortz did not ask her about the report which states that she violated state ethics law. Boortz did not ask her why she would not enforce Roe v. Wade if she were in office. instead she would compel rape victims to whelp. Boortz did not ask her to define the word “maverick” and explain why the Maverick family depises John McCain. Boortz did not ask her how/why t as “god’s will” that an oil pipeline be constructed. Boortz did not ask her what she meant when she called dinosaurs “Satan’s lizards” that walked the earth 6,000 years ago. Boortz did not ask her what books, magazines and newspapers she reads. Probably because the last book she read was on the merits of salmon-colored lipstick v. f*******. Boortz did not ask her to interpret her remark when Obama secured the nomination: “Sambo beat the bi-atch!”

So everyone who is not making $250,000 or more per year, does not want to make something of their lives? The majority of the country is not making $250,000 per year. You are mistakingly thinking that everyone not making that amount are going to be like the current people on welfare, and that is not at all true.

Folks, you will have to pardon my ramblings.. but when are the citizens of our country going to wise-up. Under the Constitution the executive branch of our government (president or vice president) control the purse strings (use of tax dollars). The legislative branch (congress and senate) spends the money. And based on my research, the democrats are the ones who have continually introduced, or included verbaige in legislation, that wastes our taxes like the “bridge to no where” or the giving grants to “struggling artists”. They even have had the audacity to tell us that the agency’s that they pushed to create, and supposedly had oversite of, had no problems. When in reality, they were a train wreck that happened (i.e., Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac). They will not allow us to use our own resources, oil, but will allow billions of dollars a year be sent to overseas countries to help their economies. They will even tell us that we will give the middle class a tax cut by taxing the rich and business. I just have to ask when was the last time any of us got a job from the middle class; and, the last I knew, a business usually passes taxes on to the consumer (yes even to the middle class).

Now getting back to the intent of this AJC blog…

You may not like Govenor Palin because of her party and/or media driven perceptions. But in reality she is the only person on the ticket for the executive branch (Obama, Biden, McCain) who has had executive branch experience. The others have never had to “live” any of the budgets that they have proposed. And if you personally research what she has done, and not rely on the media or you friends to tell you what she has done, you will find that she has done a damn good job in both executive positions she has held (mayor and govenor).

This election is not about Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin. It is about our way of life as granted by the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This is about protecting our freedom of choice and protecting our country. Contrary to what the politicians tell you, the United States was not established as a Democracy (majority/mob rule). We were established as a Rebublic (rule by law). And the last time I read the two documents, there was nothing written regarding the policies (especially economic) that either candidates are promising - especially Senator Obama’s version of taking from those who have made wise choices to get ahead vs. giving those who have not. This is not a black vs. white issue. This is an issue of fairness. Contrary to what you who disagree with this statement, we all have the same chances to make the right choices so that we do not have to rely on others to take care of us.

He had very little experience in governing people , but was a very good community organizer. All the the people got right behind him and his ideas. To bad he could not run the wars he started ( no experience ). Ask the German Jews if they were behind the great ORATOR. I give you your next Hitler.

Is there any doubt that if Palin was, a democrat he’d be grilling Palin about the dysfunction of her family, and the “lack of family values” she represents? Just like there’s no doubt that if anyone but Belinda Skelton’s child had worn crocs on an elevator, he’d be blaming the parent not the shoemaker.

He’s a partisan hack, pure and simple, and at his core, the only “value” he has is which issue to use to appeal to the mouthbreathers who make up his core audience.

When Palin was elected mayor of Wasilla, a town of all of 6,000 people, the first thing she did was hire a city manager to run the city. Then all she had to do was cut ribbons. Now she is governor of a state with a population of 600K with so much money they they don’t have to worry about budgets. So, do you call that experience? She is not qualified to be a Fulton Co dog catcher.

But the government should NEVER foot the bill for people not wanting to make something of their lives

Who are you to say that anyone does not want to make something of their lives? are you talking about those living in trailer-parks? do you know that there are more caucasians on welfare than any other ethnic group?

And so what if blacks benefit from government assistance? it wasn’t always that way, we pulled ourselves up fron being oppressed, suppressed, repressed, stressed but never depressed to Rosewood, you know what your jealous caucasian ancestors did to that, we thrived in Atlanta when about 100 tears ago your jealous ancestors tore that up to.

Truth is your ancestors knew that with an even playing field you would be cleaning toilets while we would be decoding the pyramids we built, you had to stop us from accessing the opportunities and to keep us underperforming.

So surprise to you here comes a black looking man heading for your white house why is it called the white house? and all you can ask yourself is where to h— did he come from?

Just when I think he’s another right-wing windbag, he’ll take a stand on a principle that seems to show that he isn’t just a ruder version of Hannity—he may actually have a brain. The Palin interview blew away any respect I might have had for the guy. Here he is talking to this bimbo that can barely string a sentence together or answer a direct question and he fawns all over her like she’s a serious intellect. Did he check his brain at the door??? I know we never shared many values, but I thought at a minimum he could be counted on to uphold some standard of commonsense. Palin is the reason I am not voting for McCain — can you see her a heartbeat away from the Oval Office? I can barely see her as a clerk at Office Max…

Did you make your money all by yourself? You did not inherit anything, even the ability to go to college? You had no loans or grants in school? You don’t own a house (and get a subsidy by your writeoff on your home?) Did you defend your country in the armed forces? (If not you, who did?) Were you ever taught by a (lowly paid) public school teacher? I truly find it impossible to believe that you have earned your wealth all by yourself, and only you deserve credit for it. Give credit to others, and thank God for being able to be financially (if not morally) comfortable!

To those who think Palin is a reputable candidate for VP: shame on you, you vaccuous air heads. You deserve what you would get. Move to Alaska and enjoy! I will vote for Obama and his liberal proposals. I KNOW that he will be trying to help the poorer people who need help. If a family with a downs syndrome kid needs public health, they will get it. Only experience as “community organizer” worries you? you think it is too little? Try to do it yourself, in Chicago South Side, with people who had no hope or motivation. Think ag ain. He will lead us to better relationships with Europe and the rest of the world, he will help us regain respect, a sense of reasonableness, and to a better balance in the country. The economic bailout is nothing more than socialism… for the rich. The time is ripe for Obama. Let us welcome him. He is not an arab or a terrorist, just a normal decent human being with excellent training and education, and sufficient calm to learn and explain and keep his promises. He has assembled a group of advisors from the most res pected circles in Washington and Economics. He is no joker no fool, no smooth talker. Obama is solid. Palin does not even come close and, let’s face it, McCain would never get elected without her. Must admit, she is fun to watch… on Saturday Night live. That is sa fe.

I don’t know much about Ayers but I have met members of the Alaska Independent Party at gun shows when I was stationed up there. Having been to law school, I was very surprised of their description of what Constitutional rights we should have….which included things like the state not being allowed to require driver’s licenses, insurance, and basically any type of licensure or regulatory activity…especially hunting. Though I never met Tim McVeigh, they honestly reminded me of them. Since I have been married for many years, I am more concerned about a senior executive branch employee (VP or higher) coming home to a separatist whose values are so different than that of mainstream America. Let’s be honest folks…our spouses and their stongly held views DO effect us and much more so than that of our work colleagues, neighbors or friends.

One of the long-standing planks of the AIP platform is the disenfranchisement of military personnel when it relates to a vote on local issues. in this the AIP has but one local issue: a vote on seceding from the union. In plain words, the AIP doesn’t want soldiers to be able to vote for Alaska to remain a state. Palin’s husband belongs to this party, and she taped a fulsome welcome to the party when they had a “convention.” The AIP, whose founder cursed the United States and was murdered in a dope deal gone sour, is clearly a lunatic fringe group. Palin and her husband are supporters. This alone should disqualify her from serious consideration to serve in any public office. That McCain would demonstrate such poor judgment is selecting her led me to cast my vote against him. Whether senile, cynical or stupid, he should not be president.

More importantly, it is unwilling to admit that their leaders are terrible for fear of losing political points against the other side?

Joe Biden is the biggest embarassment of a vp nominee in the last 50 years. He thinks that Article I of the Constitution defines the powers of the VP; he believes the VP acts only as a tie breaker in the Senate; he started plagarizing other people’s work in law school and continued doing this as recently as 3 years ago,he is a habitual liar, he dangerously proposed a plan to divide Iraq into 3 distinct sections until there was such an outcry worldwide against the idea he had to drop it, he mistakenly thinks we drove Hezbollah out of Lebanon, on Thursday he blurted out that he had been arrested once and that the cure for the American economy was a 3 letter word “jobs.” He has never run anything except his mouth. **Palin will never be V.P. or President. She lacks one basic ability, found among even the worst politicians. I am, of course, referring to the ability to string words together into a cogent sentence, in an attempt to actually answer a question as it is asked. Palin has only got the response part right so far. She can string words together to some degree, but the words themselves often have no bearing on the question, and the ‘sentences’ (I know the use of that word is a stretch) contain far too much punctuation, and way too many rhetorical cliches. Somehow, Palin managed to conflate health care and jobs with a question regarding the “Bail Out.” The Executive branch is not a game show, and politics has no pop quizzes. This is as real as it gets, folks, and I wouldn’t have Palin stand in as our babysitter for even one night. We’d return home to find that our kids had been indoctrinated into some insane cult, of that I am sure.

Of course, go ahead and vote for Governor Airhead and Chuckles McCain. I’m sure you’d love to see him grind his teeth in the White House, and lose his sht with the leaders of the world. Why not? You somehow managed to elect the King of the Muppets the last two times around. So go for it. After they’ve finished giving yet more free money (sorry, I meant tax breaks) to huge mega-corps, and you’re left destitute, with your pants around your ankles, only then can you return here and say that you’re sorry you weren’t paying attention.*

I have a question for Obama. What if I bought an airline. Would my taxes go up?

What about a cruise line? My taxes go up?

    Movie Studio? Taxes up?

What if I bought Microsoft? Taxes?
