The DSCC enters the U.S. Senate race, and the issue is the Fair Tax
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Late this afternoon, the Insider talked to a Democratic fellow who seemed to know what he was talking about.
He said the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee was ready to double down on Jim Martin, to the tune of $1 million rather than the $500,000 reported today.
Just minutes ago, the DSCC released the attack ad on Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss — the first the Washington organization has put its name to:
For the confused among you, this is all about the Fair Tax. Previously, the DSCC was content to act through the Democratic Party of Georgia. Now it’s out there on its own. It seems that we suddenly have ourselves a very serious U.S. Senate race in Georgia.
Just saw the ad on WSB-TV at 7 p.m.

I just saw the add here in Augusta, too. followed by two different Saxby adds during the local and national news on the local abc station. Is Martin just tied to Obama or do you think he can win without Obama carrying the state?

Trolls Aaron Burr and Racecop can shut up now, or be shut up.
This is potentially earthshaking if it’s true. Maybe an ad buy that big will make a difference; I don’t think Martin’s necessarily tied to Obama. Plus, the ad is true! It leaves out that the so-called “Fair Tax” eliminates income and payroll taxes, if I remember right, but I don’t think anyone would actually like to swap income tax for this kind of sales tax anyway.

Hey Jim, ya gotta delete those comments from Aaron Burr. It’s unethical, it’s wrong, and it MIGHT even be illegal to suggest that voting is on Nov. 5th (voter fraud).
Voting for all candidates, Republican and Democratic, is on Tuesday, November 4. Also, most people can early vote before that time. Check with your local elections office in the yellow pages to find out the details…

Freedom of speech. If any idiot votes because of what some idiot blogger says, then that person should not be voting in the first place. They should investigate those comments as soon as they are finished with all the ACORN cases.

Pretending to be me, pretending to be and convince democrats to vote on Nov 5th, is pretty much all that is left of the Republican party.
At some point, they’ll find what they’ve lost….but it might be a while.
Morph and her tactics shows the coward that she is. So more power to you Morph. I come on here to heckle Republicans. Stealing my name doesn’t make me fear you, it doesn’t make me angry and I don’t care if it confuses anyone else.
I’m not here for them. I’m here for me. I love to antagonize you, and the more you steal my name, the more you prove what a jackass you are.
Have fun. Be me as much as you like.
You do a poor imitation of anything.
Here is a hint at imitating me in the future. I generally only use capital letters on other people using capital letters.
Calling Republicans Racists Scum though?
That’s spot on. Spread the word Morph! :)

More Americans are expected to vote this year than ever before in history, so don’t be left out! Be sure to ask everyone you know the following questions: Are you registered to vote? If you moved recently, have you updated your voter registration? Did you apply for an Absentee Ballot? Do you know your state may not require any reason?

During the last 8 years Republican Congressmen tried to fix the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae mess but they were blocked by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. The Wall Street’s Paulson along with Frank And Dodd wrote the $700,000,000,000.00 bail out Wall Street bill then added $153,000,000,000.00 of PORK for good measure. Our 7 Republican Congressmen voted against this RIP OFF of the taxpayer. Yet Saxby Chambliss (Socialist/RINO,Ga) voted for this waste. Why he has received over $10,621,716.00 from special interest much of it from BANKS & INSURANCE COMPANIES. With Saxby MONEY talks & the Taxpayer walks.

Of course there were not so many people who had given up on the GOP RINO candidate before either. We’ll know on 11/5.
As I’ve said before, maybe Saxby can get the vote of all those voters in Georgia who were in favor of amnesty for illegals, the farm bill, the gang of 10 energy bill, NCLB, the $830 Billion bailout, etc. That might push him on to victory. But not with my vote.

If a guy is FairTax, he’s got a little sense. Make sure any candidate is at least FairTax before you vote. It’s the acid test for basic intelligence.

Wow, Bitter… you had to reach back over 150 YEARS to find something good to say about the Republican Party!
The Unfair Tax is a stunt, of course; its multimillionaire backers would be tickled if it actually became law, but its real purpose is to keep the ignorant poor riled up and fighting for the rich.

Based on the distortions and lies about voting on Wednesday, Obama as a Muslim, terrorist ties, etc., etc. I sometimes wonder if a certain population in Georgia doesn’t actually deserve bad representation like Saxby. Unfortunately, House Representatives cover a specific district, but Senators like Saxby represent all Georgians, not just the few small-minded, racist, extremist morons like “Aaron Burr V. Mexico” and “Race Cop”.
This election cycle most of the country will vote for positive change in the White House as well as the U.S. House and Senate. Georgia has another great opportunity to do the same, or to continue carrying the ball to the wrong end zone. Though you might feel good running down the field, that’s no way to win the game.
Ignorance is nothing to be proud of, and hate is not a family value.

Seriously?? In Georgia in all places voters will be able to see that this is an outright screaming lie. The FairTax “replaces federal income taxes including personal, estate, gift, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, self-employment, and corporate taxes.
All you have to do is go to the FairTax FAQs to see this stuff.
If an obvious lie is the last minute attack the DSCC prefers they must really be desperate…

I see: slam Chambliss for wanting a “23% national sales tax,” but don’t mention the accompanying total repeal of the income tax.
Sounds like Mary Ruwart is writing commercials for these guys: she used the same tactics against Bob Barr during the Libertarian nomination race.

USA Would become the Car Maker of the world with fair tax!!!
Corporate tax on major company’s are around 37% and I do not think anyone really knows the exact amount built in to USA goods because if you look at the BMW plant here in SC, If you took the tax they pay It would be a HUGE under-estimate to just look at BMW’s passed down on to the car because Michelin tires also pay Big taxes and pass them down on their tires to BMW as do Lear Seats as do Spartan Steel as do the battery maker and on and on and as do every single part on that car that is made here in the USA. It would be very interesting to know exactly how much tax is really built into that car, I believe it would be shocking.
They say around 27% of the cost is taxes passed down but I think it would be a little higher because if you look at how much the Companies spend on keeping up and paying these taxes and also keeping up and being a tax collector with pay roll taxes this cost has to be high and also passed down on a product also.
*Even just taking the 27% built in figure, with fair tax a American car that now sales for $20,000 would come down to $14,600 and then be taxed at the retail level at 23% bring the cost to $17,958.
*But now with the Fair Tax the American made car can be exported and sold over seas for $14,600 instead of $20,000. Just think of all the car manufactures rushing here to the US to build their cars, JOBS, JOBS, JOBS.
*Imported car makers are not taxed by the US. so there is no US. tax built into their cars so a $20,000 imported car taxed at 23% would then be $24,600.
**How about the Cheap imports- a imported car selling below what our car makes can make them for at the very low cost of $14,000, when fair taxed it becomes $17,220 . Now compare that to the $20,000 American made car after Fair taxed above.
Just think of all the car manufactures rushing here to the US to build their cars, JOBS, JOBS, JOBS.

The FairTax abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.
