Boehner on the bailout: Some Republicans voted for it, some voted against it, but that doesn’t matter

Today’s Macon Telegraph provides another example of how last week’s $700 billion rescue of Wall Street has become a muddled topic on the ground in Georgia.

The topic is House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio, who was in Macon on Wednesday to stump for Rick Goddard, the Republican, 8th District challenger to Democratic incumbent Jim Marshall of Macon:

Boehner downplayed any differences he may have with Goddard on last week’s vote to spend $700 billion in taxpayer money to purchase toxic loans and bail out the financial industry. Boehner voted for it; Goddard has criticized Marshall repeatedly for his vote in favor of the bill.

“Some members voted for it, some members voted against it, …” Boehner said. “They’ve got to do what they think is right.”

But the Marshall campaign called attention to some of Boehner’s previous statements on the bailout vote, when he was singing a slightly different tune.

“Before the vote on the Economic Rescue plan, John Boehner said it would ‘separate the men from the boys,’ ” Marshall press secretary Doug Moore said in an e-mail. “Jim and John Boehner put their country first by voting yes. Rick Goddard, on the other hand, dodged the press for two days while he polled to find his principles. That’s the difference between men and boys.”

Goddard’s campaign has said he was against the bailout from the beginning, but they waited more than a day after the initial House vote on the issue to put out a statement against it.

Does it really matter? The Republicans and Democrats and big corporate amerika are why we are where we are: the little people are suffering and Congress - both parties - care more about propping up AIG and Wall Street than they do the real humans on the low end of the economic scale. Vote them all out of office. Oh wait, some of them are unopposed, and we don’t have recall in Georgia do we? We ought to improve our own democracy here before exporting ‘democracy’ at the barrel of a gun.

The members that voted for it are ignorant shills for Wall Street.

They all only needed to speak with Ron Paul to get the economic education they needed to know what was right.

Much like in the rush to invade Afghanistan, nobody bothered to evaluate a more targetted and constitutional response as offered by Ron Paul. There were plenty of other solutions on the table. There were the letters from leading economists telling them to vote against the bill. There were the writings of NOBEL Prize winning economists like Hayek telling them exactly what went wrong, who was to blame (the Federal Reserve), and what to do to get things back in balance (let the market correct itself).

Was there anything that the congress could do to help? Yes. They could have voted to end the Commuity Redevelopment Act, voted to allow gold and silver to compete as currency, cut taxes accross the board and cut spending massively. Also an end to FDIC insurance and an end to all federal loan guarantees.

But these things would have upset their Wall Street friends. And we couldn’t have that. Every office holder that supported this bill MUST lose their job. Without Exception!

Mr. Liberty is correct. Atlanta needs a write-in to boot lickspittle Lewis.

When fiat-money is the order of the day, only integrity in government can safeguard the value of a nation’s currency.

Voting for the welfare fascism bailout of Wall Street usurers put the cart before the horse and destroyed any vestige of confidence in government integrity…hence the whirlwind we are now harvesting.

The Fed must go. Treason must end. Rome’s Fifth Column fully expropriated. The Debt repudiated. Sound money instituted. Neighborhood/community cooperation cultivated. Borders secured.

Obama and Martin are first steps in the right direction.

Where Saxby Chambliss gets his money::

Agri Business—-$1,368,000 Banks, Insurance, Real Estate—-$1,332,000 Lawyers & Individual Lobbyist——$641,000 Misc Business —-$679,000 Other ——$606,000..

The Agi Business got a gift of $20 billion waste from Saxby’s Farm Bill. The Banks, Real Estate & Lawyers just got a $2 TRILLION gift from the Bail Out the Banks act which Saxby & Johnny voted for. Not a bad return on your money.

Go Rick Go!

Rick absolutely hammered this guy last night at the Perry Fair Debate.

Here is why I am not voting for Marshall:

1) He stuck me with a 700 Billion Dollar Bailout that was not my fault as I pay my bills. 2) He votes over and over again for this failed leadership with Nancy Pelosi. 3) He has taken hundreds of thousands from Wall Street and says he voted for the bailout for his constituents interests - Jim was simply looking out for his friends.

GOOD RIDDANCE JIM!

I tried to post this on CNN Anderson Cooper Site:

Who is the culprit in all this? Hell everyone is!

1.) Me and the people who pay our bills on time becuase we were too busy to not pay attention to the politicians!

2.) The person who bought a house who couldn’t really afford it!

3.) The predatory lenders who sold the loan!

4.) The presidents of these companies who are too busy getting rich and sticking it to us!

5.) Congress - heck without a doubt the biggest goof’s around! They would rather beat each other up instead of work together. There are more egos in Washington then God allows! As my dad said, when you get elected your party affiliation should not come into play. You’re not R or D but an American. You make decisions based on what’s good for America!

6.) President Bush, hell we all know he’s a whack job! Can’t even talk sometimes because Channeys not around to be the puppet master.

7.) Chenney! Hell - I think you media folks are scared to death of him! You never report on how evil he is! I have a weapon of MASS destruction - it’s called a night of drinking and eating 20 hot wings.

8.) Greenspan - every time Bernake did something with the rates Geenspan counter acted it with his own way of doing things. “This is what I would have done.” We’ll hell tough guy, why did you retire if you weren’t going to let him do his job?????

9.) 2nd to the last culprit, you the media! On one hand you say the sky is falling, on the other hand you say stocks are going down and “don’t panic,”! Then before , after and during the debates you are polling this and polling that! Shut the hell up and let us listen! We are smart enough to understand what someone is saying! Let us agree with it or not! BTW - I haven’t made up my mind who I am voting for but I sure aint going to listen to you folks anymore, I’m afraid to wake up in the morning thanks to you all!

10.) Last but not least, the one and only - The Father, Son and the Holy Ghost! He is so tired of us not paying attention to this great world that he is making these changes! And he’s doing it to wake us up! I pray every night that he directs us! I pray every night that what he wants is going to happen! And I think it is. He is steering this ship now! We need to wake up and enjoy what he has done for us because if not we - won’t be waking up!

This vote is going to kill Jim Marshall, I mean he could have squeaked by if he had actually done something for us in Congress.

At the debate last night in Perry, I think Rick’s best point was when he asked Jim if we should re-elected people who fail at their job. Jim couldn’t answer that…..

We need to help all of America, sure Wall Street is struggling and they need our help, but so is the american family
