Because nothing stirs the blood like a front-door confrontation

Politicians argue that complaints filed with the State Ethics Commission are often designed to embarrass candidates during the height of a campaign.

And sometimes that’s true.

On the other hand, very rarely does an office-holder track down the person who filed the complaint, and show up on his front door. But apparently this is what state Rep. Jill Chambers (R-Atlanta) did.

The Dunwoody Crier, no friend to the lawmaker because of her arguments against cityhood, based its Wednesday article on a police incident report:

According to [Jeremy] Tanner, last Tuesday, Chambers herself came to his residence, took pictures of his house and yard, knocked on his door, and told him “you are in serious trouble.”

….The resident said Chambers also told him that it was “a very serious offense to accuse an elected official of bribery.”

Tanner said he told Chambers to leave the property, and closed the door, after which he said that the state representative continued to knock and say,”Come on out and talk to me, Jeremy.”

After a few seconds, Tanner said Chambers left. A few hours later, Tanner filed an incident report with DeKalb County Police.

Tanner has accused Chambers — part of House Speaker Glenn Richardson’s leadership team — of accepting campaign contributions that exceed the state’s single-source limits.

Tanner also said the source, a surgery center, would have benefited from legislation later introduced by Chambers that would have done away with the state’s licensing system for hospitals and other treatment centers.

According to the Crier, Chambers dismissed the incident — via e-mail — as “just a ridiculous attempt to get publicity for my opponent and to try to distract me from my own campaign.”

Her November opponent for the District 81 seat is Democrat Chris Huttman.

Sounds just like the Chambers family. Remember her husband threatened some of Jill’s fellow GOP legislators over the whole Dunwoody bill. Jill and her husband really need to get a grip on reality and stop threatening people who disagree with them.

Chambers is not the only public servant from that area to engage in questionable shenanigans. DeKalb District 1 Commissioner Elaine Boyer also has ethics charges pending from 2004 for allegedly accepting too much money from one source, among other alleged violations.

Most recently an ethics complaint was made against Boyer because she allegedly failed to list her husband’s business holdings and activities when she filed disclosure forms to run for reelection. Her response to the charges was that she did not know what her husband was doing!

Boyer is perhaps best known for soliciting a $20,000 donation from the Sembler Corporation in July 2007 to buy new uniforms for her daughter’s cheerleading squad at Lakeside High. Sembler had business before the commission at the time.

Why doesn’t the AJC investigate any of this?

The AJC nor the Crier want to put out information about Boyer, despite the fact that they have access to the information.

Well Oda Mae, if you have access to the information, set it free. If your blog posting is removed, put it on Peach Pundit’s tip line.

I find the comment, “Dirtier than politics is biased journalism.” interesting.

Where has the MSM been regarding Obama? I know, too busy in Alaska looking for Palin bashers. Look at all the information coming out just this week on the democratic candidate for President! If this man had been a Republican running the media would have shackled him into submission long before now. Oops, pardon the shackled comment, guess I’m on that Obama racist bus too.

I agree, the media is in the tank for “That One” but if he wins, the press will be treated like they are being treated currently on the democrats campaign trail. If the MSM does not start investigating these facts coming out of Chicago I will be very concerned about the future of our country.

Wake up America before it’s too late!

Obama is a socialist, is friends with very corrupt people and just think these people will have access into the office of the leader of the “free” world. We will not be so free to speak about Obama once he wins and that “Fairness Doctrine” is established again. Maybe then the press will wake up, but I fear it will be too late and with majorities in Congress, “That One” will never be investigated or held accountable for his views.

Time to do some research for yourselves, that the MSM will not do.

By the way, I am a conservative and disgusted with Jill Chambers and her tactics. Thank God I am not in her district….

Media Guy: Yeah, the media sure has given Obama a “pass,” haven’t they?

I mean, we never heard about the flag-pin controversy. Reverend Wright certainly never hit the headlines, did he? Michelle Obama’s “pride” comment (and the “whitey” rumor) were never picked up and broadcast coast to coast, 24/7. And the name “Bill Ayers” hasn’t been spoken or printed even ONCE in any major media outlet.

Obama’s been getting a free ride, you betcha…..

You’re just angry because the better man is winning.

Jill Chambers has been the object of a smear campaign since she first raised questions about the deceptive Dunwoody numbers and since everyone is now seeing that she was right the Dunwoody Gang is trying to destroy her credibility - especially the Crier. I read that article and was AMAZED that the Crier had a copy of the ethics complaint before she even knew it was filed. Pretty suspicious. She is going door-to-door as she always does (she actually came to my house) and probably came accross Tanner. Why is he afraid to talk to her? She has always been extremely ethical and deserved an explanation from Tanner.

**Ask Jill Chambers who Charles Mancini is. First clue, where did the campaign money go in 2006? Second clue, Mancini is he husband Albert’s bookie who was owed a lot. Third clue, Where does a State Rep. come up with $80K to cover his gambling debts? Fourth clue, look at the campaign accounts and money shifted in and out. Fifth clue, look at The Facility Group, the company that House Rules Chairman Earl Earhart left recently, and whose senior management have all been indicted by the Feds for political corruption. More to come.

Well, I question Mr.Tanners motives.First,he better have 100% proof,or I see some libel suite.Second, there is a CLOSE relationship with Mr.Huttman,Judi Cobb District 81 House Chiar, and Senate 40 candidate Martin McConaughy.I, would question Mr.Tanner on his reasons.

Anyway,we all know that the Dunwoody Crier, and Dick Williams hates Rep.Chambers for her vote on the City of Dunwoody.

Jill C. is yet another elected official in DeKalb making us proud. Vernon Jones, Ron Sailor, Pat Jarvis, Terrel Bolton, Elaine Boyer, John Evans, etc. We may have our elected officials constantly involved in shananigans, but at least it’s never dull!

Does Jill run smear campaigns? Yes! (An IT professional/politician didn’t think to delete or clean up his My Space page before running for office??? I hardly believe that, but then again he looks disorganized on his web site with all the paperwork askew on his desk. I just don’t think he’s mature enough to handle the job.) Does Jill answer questions re: DeKalb taxes when the county tax office won’t? Yes! Has Jill called me within 24 hours whenever I had a concern? Yes! Has Huttman convinced me he has a firm action plan for anything he wants to change? No! The growth in GA has risen and thankfully full of people that don’t play the lottery, but invest wisely. That’s why there’s a lottery for pre-K. As far as healthcare – do what smart people do, one spouse needs to get a job that has health Ins. Kaiser has affordable plans and Morehouse School of Med works. The Salvation Army in Doraville is another resource for healthcare. Of course there’s the health department which we pay for with tax dollars for health needs. Sell the new car if you need healthcare for the kiddies. I don’t need Chris Huttman to look out for my economic well being either! I don’t have cable and I don’t have a home phone…my poor friend that borrowed money last week has enough to afford HBO and internet (free at the library!) America has the richest poor people in the world! Who is more likely to create legislation that will increase spending instead of guard it? Chris Huttman! Jill WORKS!

OK…this surprises me too. I just looked up both Resurgens companies on the Secretary of State web site. They don’t seem to be related in any way. At least no more than Resurgens Preconstruction Company. I didn’t take the time to check out all of the SEC filings on Resurgens Surgery Center a.k.a. United Surgery Partners out of Dallas, TX. Resurgens PC also has a foundation with P. Gingrey and T. Price on the board, but they do not seem to be related companies. The AJC and Dunwoody Crier should have done 15 minutes of homework before printing this garbage. Jeremy Tanner as well.
