House minority leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), one of the GOP architects of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout, outlined a few Republican talking points for the final weeks of the election Tuesday at the downtown Atlanta Hilton, venue for the Georgia GOP’s Victory Dinner 2008.
The keynote speaker for the event, Boehner blamed Democrats for the nation’s financial woes on the day the Dow dove 500 points. It was the Dems, he said, who encouraged Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to insure riskier and riskier loans to borrowers.
Boehner took particular aim at U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who controls a powerful House committee that deals with banking and housing and who has a slight speech impediment. My AJC colleague Jim Tharpe was there to record the action.
“You know where he’s from. He’s from Massachusetts, although he can’t say the word ‘Massachusetts,’” Boehner said.
The Ohio congressman also fretted about what a Barack Obama presidency would mean for the nation.
“You want to talk about socialism. You put these people in office, it’s batten down the hatches and watch out,” Boehner said.

A “slight” speech impediment? Good god, good god, get anywhere near him and he’ll thpray you with thlobber that makes Sylvester thound like the Thahara desert. And, the older ‘Barney F*’ gets the more pronounced the lisp becomes.

Pretty low and cheap tactics, a pure mudslinging move.
But then, they’re just following McCain’s lead: “When you’ve got no position to argue from, lean on the personal attacks.”
It’s all they’ve got left, and it’s another indicator of why the GOP is doomed for the foreseeable future.

Saxby did not read the 409 page Bailout Wall Street bill that he voted for but he was assured by Chris Dodd, Barney Franks , and Saxby’s LOBBYIST friends that everything was OK. The Lobbyist gave & Saxby Voted for the. Just Business as usual for our Senior Communist Senator.

Barney Frank is as guilty as sin in this whole mess. O’Riley stung him on this very issue on television last week. Democratic politicians dont want to take any blame for this mess because they are all involved, that are all to blame… They hope your contempt for Bush, which i understand and agree with, will dull your vision to the fact that they started this mess… lets get past the election and then we can turn the country into a stinking socailist joke… A vote for these dogs is vote to forfiet your freedom…

SEC. 112. COORDINATION WITH FOREIGN AUTHORITIES AND CENTRAL BANKS.
The Secretary shall coordinate, as appropriate, with foreign financial authorities and central banks to work toward the establishment of similar programs by such authorities and central banks. To the extent that such foreign financial authorities or banks hold troubled assets as a result of extending financing to financial institutions that have failed or defaulted on such financing, such troubled assets qualify for purchase under Section 101.

Rep. John Boehner states that it was the riskier loans allowed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac! Republicans still don’t get it. 94% of mortgage holders pay their mortgage so his reasoning is that 6% of home mortgage holders has brought down the world economy. It was the ‘credit default swaps’ sold by Lehman Bros, Bear Sterns and AIG that caused the economic meltdown.

Does anybody remember when Barney Frank (D-MA) ran that gay brothel out of his basement. Did you know that Barney Frank’s (D_MA) boyfriend worked for Fannie? (pun intended) Barney Frank should be hauled in front of a Grand Jury. The man is partly responsible for the market meltdown. Peace.

I prefer to leave out any talk of physical disabilities because then these comments look like the ones posted on the Huffington Post and that is getting very low IMO.
Look anybody can watch video of Barney Franks insisting that Fannie and Freddie are just fine. The last video made this summer he carefully worded his response to indicate the short-run might not be too good, but the long-term would be solid. That is paraphrasing but that was his intent I think . So he either is an idiot and does not understand the fact that Fannie fudged their numbers, or he is in over his head and wouldn’t know the tip of an iceberg if it hit him in the head. You take your pick.
