Chambliss: ‘Some’ Atlanta banks have stopped making car loans
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
In a morning session with reporters, U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss said the credit crisis has already forced “some” banks in Atlanta to cut back on routine lending.
My AJC colleague Jim Tharpe filed this:
The first-term senator, who is running for re-election, said he has had confidential conversations with several bankers. Those bankers said the credit crunch and federal lawmakers’ inability to pass a rescue plan is quickly undermining their ability to do business, he said.
“There are some banks in Atlanta not making auto loans today,” Chambliss told reporters.
“Doing nothing is not the answer.”

Perhaps the Senator would be so kind as to name those banks so his constituents can run and get their deposits? Looks like that correspondence course from the Charles Schumer School of Panic Management is really paying off.

I know many of you in the Banking community that gave me money to buy my vote are upset but let me set the record straight, my policy is cash only NO REFUNDS. It is not my fault that there are actually some Republicans in the House who think they work for the taxpayer not lobbyist. Just remember thet with Saxby Special Interest Chambliss is always on the LOBBYIST side not the taxpayer.
