She’s taller than McCain, but otherwise you’d think they’re twins

Republican presidential candidate John McCain has said he won’t debate Democrat Barack Obama on Friday.

mckinney.jpg

Not to worry.

A stunt double has already raised her hand and volunteered her services as a stand-in at the Oxford, Miss., forum.

“If John McCain wants to bow out, I’m willing to step in and take his podium on Friday,” said Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney, the former Georgia congresswoman. “The financial meltdown won’t come any closer to a resolution because a presidential debate is postponed. Now is the best time for Americans to see how prepared their leaders are to handle emergencies.”

McKinney isn’t alone. This morning, the campaign of Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr sent a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates.

Read it here. The letter from Barr campaign manager Russ Verney says:

“Bob Barr, Libertarian candidate for president, is prepared to participate in Friday night’s planned presidential debate. Former congressman Barr is on the ballot in at least 46 states, far more than is necessary to theoretically win 270 electoral votes.

“Congressman Barr’s participation will provide a substantive and vigorous debate of the issues facing our nation.”

Ralph Nader, the independent candidate for president, has volunteered, too, according to other web sites.

Mr. McCain, I don’t know whether your people are gathering media, but let me tell you: we know your input at the congressional is unnecessary — the rest of the republican idiots can handle that. We know you know that you probably are not going to be able to stand up to Obama. Hey, McCain people — tell him WE KNOW!!

McCain should participate in the debate on Friday. If not, Obama should have the time to himself. As Obama has stated, the president must be able to do more than one thing at a time. McCain may not WANT to debate but he has a responsibility to do so. He can run but he can not hide from voters. He and Palin are trying very hard to avoid having to answer questions during their campaign. What are the afraid of…their abilities, their record or their policy positions…my guess is “all of the above”…

Hopefully there is no security at the event. Cynthia might be too busy slapping cops to answer questions.

In all likelyhood - an Obama vs. McKinney debate would be a race to see who could give the bigger handouts first.

I wear two hats on my job everyday. Why can’t McCain do the debate and help fix the economy. Making one planned meeting(debate) is not going to fix the unplanned economy meeting. I’m sure bush want plan the meeting during the debate. I’m also sure it’s going to take more than one meeting to resolve this problem.

Sad. McKinney torpedoed her own politcal career and yet she refuses to accept that people do not like or trust her anymore. It’s clear she’s having too difficult a time trying to readjust to private living out of the spotlight. Somebody in her inner circle needs to have a one-on-one talk with her about what kind of legacy she plans to leave behind for he son. She’s embarassing herself.

@kevin: N E X T !! @ klaus: N E X T !! But Cynthia McKinney really need to sit down somewhere. Independents cause a lot of mess, however, nothing Independently major has ever happened. ALL of them, BAR NONE, comes as spoilers, ranting and raving all the time, but do they have the answers, NOOOOOOOOO!! Mr. Independent himself, LOU DOBBS, screams every nite about someone oughta be responsible. I swear that man is going to have an aneurysm spewing venom at Dems and Repubs. Independents, I challenge you to make something happen, then. Sooner or later, when it’s all said and done, you ultimately join ONE of the major parties. So what, you want to hear yourself talk? Spoilers, is all you are. Cynthia McKinney cannot be serious. If her area of the world don’t want to hear her, why does she think America want to hear her now? She had something good, and she blew it. Like most of the others with FOOT IN MOUTH DISEASE or either thinking you are somehow above the rest of the world. Call this debacle a reality. It is the uninformed like those who state McKinney has changed her look that helped put this country in the state it is. First, it is obviously an old picture because she is wearing a Congressional pin. Second, the “braid” is at the back out her head. Perhaps if those who paid so much attention to McKinney would also pay it to other members of Congress we would not be in this position. Diasters such as the current one do not happen overnight. This entire mess is based upon the fact we allowed the Government to get in bed with Wall Street. We knew deregulation would not work because it did not work when Gerogia deregulated gas and your final bill often went up $30 just in fees. We need to stop thinking our problems are about hair and start looking at who we send to Washington. By the way if no deals were cut why did the Republicans not run a a candidate in the 4th. Has “nobody seen him or heard from him” Johnson said anything since he was elected. Has he even sent out so much as a flyer within the last four months letting you know what is going. But I bet he will send out, at your expense, something now that he is up for re=election. Remember, you even though he is the only candidate you don’t have to validate his or any other candidate in a one person race by checking the box. America needs to wait up and take politics seriously. Forget about McKinney and focus on what is going on now.

What can an empty suit (community organizer) like Obama do other than run for office? It’s not as if he has actually ever done anything , other than run for office and stand in front of a podium and read a teleprompter. As a die hard Republican I am almost willing to give this mess to Obama and watch him sink like a rock in water. Have a Democratic controlled Congress and Preisdent and then see what horrible shape this country will be in and then it’ll be all Republican for the next 12 years after that. I’d venture to say most Republicans are better suited to ride out a bad economy than Democrats are. Think Clayton County and the mess their in and then spread that all over Amercia. Obama is where he is today because of special treatment by the media. In affirmative action fashion the media knew thay had to give Obama a huge advantage by not going after him in any way and giving him extra points so he would never be on a level playing field. Without media affirmattive actiom , Obama wouldn’t be in the news today. Obama will be our first Bell Curve President. Sweet.

By the way, the problem is not Independents as some on this page state. The problem is a two party system that gives no options. I am not saying McKinney or Barr are the best options. What I am saying is if we had more Independents running in Congressional and local races politicans would be forced to speak to the issues and not in generality and based upon inuendos aimed at their opponents. The United STaes needs to wake up and start to take politics serious. Stop acting as if it was an episode of American Idol.

Well the republican party is good at fooling the american public, they have been gotten away with it for the last eight years. John McCain is trying to do it again, so far is doing a good job fooling a good percentage of americans. Cleary McCain knows his chances in debating obama is slim to none. Trying to delay and postpone the debate is another way of play politics and not having to answer questions. Palin is a joke, i am willing to bet she would not be able to answer who is the leaders of Great Britain

Interesting. Obama slams McCain for wanting to address this situation as a Senator (considering that’s what he still is) and says a President must be able to juggle many things at once. And just what, pray tell, is Mr. Obama juggling by NOT going to DC and addressing the situation? The ONLY thing Obama is doing, and has been doing for the last two years, is running for President.

Kudos to McCain for not leaving his constituents unrepresented. I think that speaks volumes to how he would handle the Presidency.

Hey Kevin - The Democrats CAUSED the economic slump? The last time I looked, we had an almost ZERO deficit when Clinton left office and we have had a Republican President for the past 7-3/4 years, along with a Republican heavy Congress for 6 of those 7-3/4 years!!!! It takes a bit longer to bail out the stupidity of the Republican leaders!

Watch, when Obama becomes President - if anything is wrong with the country, you’ll be the first to say it’s because we have a Democrat in the Persidency, right?

Surely you people don’t believe that McCain really cares about this economy? He has openly said if he is president he wouldn’t even find two dollars to raise the min. wage! And yet you all truly believe he cares enough to “suspend” his campaign? He’s campaigning and ploting more than ever…look at this stunt he’s got all the SUCKAS fooled!! OH, YEAH…OBAMA 08!

By Deb

KJ - Obama never said he wasn’t going to Washington to address this situation. In fact, I believe he and McCain are meeting with President Bush this morning. (Try reading the news.) What he did say was that they didn’t have to cancel a debate to achieve this. He has the ability to do both. Too bad McCain either can’t, or is too busy using the Crisis as just another ‘political op’ for his campaign … Palin as his running mate? Do we need to say more?????

Senators and the President should be able to multi-task! They both have access to planes. The debate is scheduled to take place in the evening. Does anyone really think Congress will be in session tomorrow night? No. McCain is just another politician, trying to make himself look good. He’s been in politics for 26 years. I’d say he’s been more of the problem, then he could come up with a solution during this two day period!!!!

By Deb

McCain says he wants to cancel all campaigning during the ‘crisis’, as if this ‘crisis’ is something that just fell out of the sky! McCain is doing exactly the right thing, he is the only person that can get enough support for a resolution that will actually help, not this panic driven too fast spending bill.

Harry Reid said stay away they don’t need him getting in the way, current members can handle this, YEA RIGHT, leaving the same people in charge of congress to handle this matter is about as smart as giving 700 billion dollars to the people who have been in charge of the depts that let all this happen.

Harry Reid led Congress cannot accomplish anything, this is too important to leave to the least accomplished congress in the HISTORY OF THIS COUNTRY.

McCain not doing the debate

Knows how to follow the rules

Obama refuses to respect current leadership = Bush

I don’t like Bush but if you don’t understand the pecking order…. If can’t follow the rules and you are out of order, are you going to follow and uphold our constitution OBAMA? I doubt it

Kind of goes along with not putting your hand over your heart during the pledge of allegiance huh?

It also shows a lack of “team effort” by Obama to refuse to cooperate with the president - lack of bipartisan support.

McCain - again I am not his fan either, has a long history of bi-partisan support. He knows how to follow the rules. It is going to require a “team effort” to pull this country back together. That is the first rule; show up and behave….

p.s. Present - is not following the rules BTW

Enjoy ignorant ED & Foolish Kevin, know your facts before you speak or write!!!!!

I’m a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight…..

  • If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you’re “exotic, different.”

  • Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.

  • If your name is Barack you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

  • Name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you’re a maverick.

  • Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

  • Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you’re well grounded.

  • If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a

state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.

  • If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.

  • If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.

  • If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a Christian.

  • If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

  • If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant , you’re very responsible.

  • If your wife is a Harvard graduate laywer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America ‘s.

  • If you’re husband is nicknamed “First Dude”, with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

By Say It Ain't So

September 25, 2008 10:32 AM | Link to this

I guess when your only input to the current crisis will be to vote ‘present’ then you can focus on self promotion. However, if you want to give serious input, you need to understand the problem and work on a viable solution. When you hire the ‘problems’ as your financial advisors, are you really interested in finding a solution?

All we’re going to hear from the O’man in any debate, since he does not have a teleprompter, is a bunch of “umm, oh, I, I, uhmm, we, huh, oh, what was that question again? Oh yea, well she can see Russia from Alaska, at least I’ve been to all 57 states! ”

Are we as Georgians as crazy as she is? When are we going to strip that honor from her? or is the honor of having something named for you just not that important anymore? PM/Howard/Ed/Deb - you three should all stand up and take a bow. You all are the biggest idiots on the planet. You should be ashamed of yourselfs. Obama couldn’t multi-task himself out of a open box. I wish him and all his followers nothing but the worst in their lifes. Obama needs to get off his lazy a* and start doing some work as a Senator other than voting present, which he won’t be able to do because he will be in Mississippi to do a unneccessary debate when the country is about to go under. Also, good choice on Biden tell him that Regan wasn’t the second president of the US, just in case he say’s that on tv. I just love when the Democrats keep failing, it just shows that God is a Republican. McCain for Prez and Obama to jail when this is all done. That’s where he belongs with McKinney two racist that have extreme left ideas. Burn in hell Obama and McKinney.

Mckinney is a joke. She is a complete embarrassment to America and the great State of Georgia.

She should not even be allowed to be in the race at this juncture. Anyone running for President who cannot pull 15% of the vote in nationwide polls should automatically be removed from consideration 60 days from election day.

I am not racist and these are not racist comments……..my comments have to do with her stance on issues as well as her past actions and political record. She represents what is wrong with American politics today and should do us all a favor………go away and keep quite!

Stop the debate because we need to tend to the bail out crisis. That makes me laugh as I’m sitting here at work thinking about how I’ve already multitasked this morning. From getting two kids ready for school (ironing, breakfast, making sure projects are in the back packs, medicine taken etc.)…….to driving 20 miles in traffic while checking messages at work and returning phone calls in traffic…….to arriving to work at 8:30 to fires that had to be put out immediately…….to checking returning emails while answering my phone to clients who want me immediately. All of this and it’s just 9:22. I’m also thinking about how to run by Wal-Mart in between appointments today to purchase supplies to complete a school project tonight. How I will have to dash to school to pick up the kids after a 4:30 appointment…….prepare dinner for the family………complete the school project……go over an quiz that the teacher might have scheduled for tomorrow…….give the kids a bath…..put them to bed……..clean up the kitchen……and if time permits…….be a wife to my husband in the bed………So WTF does McCain mean by delaying the debates because he needs to go to DC. Hell, can’t he multitask. Men act like they can only do one thing at a time. I’m an Obama supporter, but maybe we need to put two women in office to get things done. McCain can leave DC on his jet thats waiting for him. Eat the dinner thats already prepared for him. Arrive in Mississippi to a car that’s already waiting for him to carry him to OLE MISS…..do his dabate and then get back on the same jet thats waiting for him……and be back in DC within hours. WTF…….women can do a million jobs in one day……….ask a man to do 2 and he looses his mind.

Deb - since you’re calling me out, I’ll return the favor. You’re telling me that campaigning is MORE important than the current state of our economy? You’d rather they debate what they WOULD do about foreign policy IF they’re elected and take office FOUR MONTHS FROM NOW, instead of head back to DC and act like the Senators they are and work with one another to fix a CURRENT problem? Sorry, I’d rather hear what they’re going to do now, Of course, as a working American, I do have a vested interest in this.

Well, you’re entitled to your opinion, just as I’m entitled to mine. That’s that whole 1st Amendment thing, you know, freedom of speech. But we’ll save that whole debate for another time. There are more pressing issues.

Oh and one more thing Deb, way to take the high road by putting yourself above the fray. Sorry though, that last statement from you dropped you back down to a level playing field.

Obama spent 143 days as a senator prior to trying to become president, he has not stood for anything in that time, Cynthia M. well only the extreme left from DeKalb Co. could even think her holding any public position. Personally I would love to see Cynthia M. and Barack Hussien debate each other, John McCain would win by a landslide afterwards. I salute John McCain for doing the right thing. Oh by the way Howard it is not a senators responsibility to debate for an election, it is a senators responsibility to work for the American Public.

I’m not sure how many states have the McKinney or Nader on the ballots, but if it is enough to theorectically win the nomination, as with Barr, then they should have been part of the debate to begin with. Being on te ballot in 46 states, Barr should have been in the debate regardless. To only allow the Republican and Democratic candidates to debate is an outrage.

Hey, “Deb” you need to check your facts… Clinton made the horrible mistake of deregulating the mortgage/insurance/lending industry and the subsequent fallout has been DIRECTLY attributed to a DEMOCRAT deregulating laws in place as a result of the great depression. Your boy Bill and his Demo buddies caused the current housing mess we are in by letting greedy people, basically self govern an entire industry. If Billy had not passed the legislation, none of the predatory lenders could have done what they did and the insurance industry would not have been so heavily involved as well …

By Ruthless One

September 25, 2008 11:25 AM | Link to this

How is McCain incompetent or running scared because he decided to go to Washington? He put the country ahead of himself (seems presidential to me) and decided to be proactive in an issue that affects millions. Its not like he canceled the debate entirely. He just wants it moved back 6 days so he can help rally his base to get a bill signed to help us “the people” out.

You people praise Barack Obama as being able to multi-task and that is such a croc. If anyone thinks McCain cannot really multi-task (or use a computer for that matter) then you are beyond a moron. Neither candidate would be running for president if they could not do something as simple as multi-task.

McCain made a judgement call and decided to put “His Country First”. So what will Barack do if he is president and is playing golf or mixing it up with locals somewhere and a huge issue arises that needs to be handled immediately? Is he going to say that he has a pager and is on call if the congress needs him? I find that troubling to be quite honest.

How do some of you people believe that McCain is running from the debate? That has to be the biggest joke I have ever heard. First off, the debate is about Foreign Policy (a McCain strong suit) and 2nd Barack is the one who has been held up in a hotel all week preparing for a debate for which he has little knoweldge and or experience in.

Wasn’t it also Obama who would not agree to conduct 10 or so Town Hall meetings across america with John McCain? Who is or was really running scared? Town Hall meetings are the most beneficial when it comes to letting people really see the candidates. The questions are not scripted and the people would constantly keep the candidates on their toes with various questions. All I keep hearing about is how the people need to see the candidates and blah blah blah. No crap! Of course we do. McCain just simply asked to move it back a few days.

If you really wanted to see these guys for who they really are Obama should have agreed to the Town Hall meetings plain and simple!

People need to start seeing through the bullcrap and make “informed” decisions that have nothing to do with Race, associations with George Bush, What MSNBC and CNN tell you, and pre-conceived notions.

Are you kidding me-everyone pays taxes, they are deducted from paychecks whether we want to pay them or not. These people you refer to are obviously employed or there would be no tax refund. So if working people are bums, then that includes you too. Kady-I feel your pain on the 401K, and we pay our mortgage ontime 2. However, anyone wanting to be in charge of running this country cannot show signs of cowardness by backing out of presidental debates, CNN (Larry King) interviews, and any other forum that would cause them to publicly explain thier issues, plan for America, and soulutions to its mulitple problems. Pippy-Your right, McCain does only appear to support the wealthier class of people and not care much about the rest. That’s not a good choice since America represents far more than just the wealthier class of people. But we do live in a country where a stray dog can get a meal long before a homeless person. Deb-Very true! When we had a Democratic pres, deficit was almost 0, economy was better, pres had highest approval rating, and gas didn’t cost almost $5/gal. For some people, they think if they are Republican, that means they have to be Redneck and Racist too. We have to look at people for what they are and judge by a good or bad track record. Ed is so unaccustomed to a Politician (Obama) who chooses not to mud sling, repsects his wife, cares about his community enough to go out and organize, talk to people, rally, etc. Has not had a scandal-filled past come back to haunt in in the media. Someone who as a Senator said I dont like the direction this world is heading in, and I’m in position to do something about it, so I will. Experience does not always equal the ability to do a good job.* Bush comes from a family of politics and has put the country in a COMPLETE SLUMP. He’s told numerous lies, there’s not enough time to even start on 9/11. The list goes on. At this point, Americans have to stop holding on so tightly to whether they are Dem or Rep.and just choose the best man for the job. Both Dems and Rep. are dying fight the war, both Dems and Rep lost loved ones in 9/11, both Dems and Rep have some suffering over the gas prices and the current state of our economy. Republican or Democrat, I would just cringe at the thought of having Sarah Palin in charge of the country. Bottom line-SOME OF YOU ARE RACIST, YOUR COMMENTS PROVE THAT. HOWEVER, SKIN COLOR DOESN’T MATTER MUCH WHEN OUR COUNTRY IS SUFFERING. IF YOUR WALLET LOOKS GOOD BUT YOUR NEIGHBORS DOES NOT, CHANCES ARE, YOU MIGHT GET ROBBED SOON. IT HAS TO BE GOOD FOR ALL OF US, NOT JUST THE WEALTHY.

Hey, if you Democrats would have been paying attention, McCain called to POSTPONE the debate, NOT call it off. McCain is genuinely concerned about our nation, and he is showing it by his actions. But as far as Obama is concerned, “They can call me if they need me”. You would think Obama would more concerned about the decisions that are being made for the country he HOPES to lead. That should give us some insite as to how he would lead our nation! Wake up people. And it has nothing to do with race or gender. If Condoleezza Rice were on the ticket, I would probably vote for her.

By Ruthless One

Okay, lets get this straight! Both parties are to blame for the mess we are in. That is not debatable. Swings in the economy such as what we are having to deal with happen over long periods of time. Its a domino effect. For something like this to happen it would take a decade or so to ensue. That would mean during Bill Clintons final 2 years in office, Bush’s 8 years in office, and Democrats running congress for the past 2 years.

The blame game is pointless and needs to stop! Everyone knows not one party has enough control to do this by themseleves.

Also, have some of you people that constantly call conservatives crazy or only about “White Rich People” sat back and thought about how most of us are middle class too. Do you ever stop and think why would we beleive in a system that you disagree with even though you think Obama would help out the middle class (includes conservatives too - don’t forget this)?

Why would conservatives, who are mostly middle class as the rest of the citizens in this country, want the conservatives approach to the economy? I think if you do not know why then you need to research the issues more becuase I am not hearing any intelligent reasons from the opposite point of view on why Obama is going to make everything better.

He says he will help middle class families. Okay, can you tell me how? He says he will only tax the rich. Okay, can you tell me how he plans on only taxing them and not middle class america too?

When you can come on here and explain your point of view in an intelligent way then people will resepct that a lot more than the same ol same ol on all these blogs:

“Palin is white trash” “McBush is the same as the past 8 years” “Obama has the leadership and experience” “Obama relates to us” — please explain? (The whole he is black and I am black so he relates to me is not an acceptable answer.)

Its amazing to me how some of you people talk about how Obama is in tune with the majority of the country and McBush isn’t. Have you ever actually looked at the map of the US when they show the Red vs. Blue states? The red states outnumber the blue ones by more than 2-1. Have you also noticed that the majority of the blue states are on the west coast or in the northeast? Where do you think all the national telvision news programs and newspapers you read come from? The blue states. New York, California, etc.

All I am saying is I think its time for you to take a step back and try to realize that some major brainwashing has occured over the years. I realize it hurts your ears to actually listen to AM talk radio or watch Fox News, but I reccommend it to at least get the other point of views. Sounds to me like that just isn’t happening.

As much as it pains me I watch MSNBC and listen to Air America and other programs to hear both sides of the issue. Its time others start this as well.

Informed decision making is the key. Not what people tell you to believe.

Since when did doing the job that people voted you in for (ie be a senator) running scared? Shouldn’t Barack “I will run the economy better” Obama be in the middle of this whole rescue bill? What Obama is doing is like a Falcon’s player missing a game to go tryout for the Colts. The candidates are currently SENATORS they should be there to represent their state and the people that voted them in.

Oh Ruthless One…you almost had us fooled, but all you’re trying to do is push another Republican/right winged/conservative agenda. Boortz, Limbaugh and Hannity? You got to be kidding me? They are the kings of ultra conservative, liberal bashing, if you’re not like us, then I’ll hang up the phone on you and you don’t deserve to live! There are times when you look at a situation and say, “I’ll choose the lesser of the two evils.” Simply put, we have had enough of Bush and since McCain sounds NO different, I’ll choose the new kid on the block, who at least looks and sounds different. And btw, if there are people who will not vote for Barack b/c he is black, then why can’t people vote for him b/c he is? Let’s keep it real!

Maybe, they should postpone the debate between Obama and McCain and fill the slot with Cythinia and Bob. I want might want to hear from the Green party and Libertarian and get a damn good laugh in. LOL

You really think that if Obama wins “jobs” are going to fall out of the sky. I think our government as a whole needs help and I don’t think one person can change that.

Has it occurred to anyone that perhaps Cynthia McKinney—and Bob Barr and Ralph Nader—are really trying to pressure McCain to stay in the debate? They’re all implying that his Republican candidacy is not any more important or significant than their third-party candidacies.

After all the BS that McCain stated concerning the Town Hall meetings (Obama won’t come out and play!) he cancels the first debate? Double Standard, huh?

And his lackey from SC suggests to reschedule it on the date of the VP debate! What kind of stupid people do you think the American public are?

So if McCain does not show up, keep the rest of the schedule the way it is and remove the restrictions on the VP debate. Or let Sarah stand in for him? Free Palin! Does she speak without a prepared text (something McCain can’t)? Is she so shallow will they keep her in “prison” for the whole 4 years if they (oh god) are elected?

While the economy is in dire straights the American people have a right to see and hear the two main candidates debate now! How many votes has McCain made over the past 6 months or year doing the peoples business? representing his state?

Hey Glenn,

I just wonder how many conservatives who despise govt. assistance/welfare/bailouts/stimulus checks, whichever term works for you, returned their stimulus checks they received this past summer from their beloved President?

Right on, McKinney. Even i don’t actually want to see her on the debates…I’m glad to see someone call McCain on his sneaky political maneuvering.

But hey, if i had to debate against someone as smart as Obama, and cannot make a convention speech that doesn’t put people to sleep, I sure would try to dodge a debate too!

Step up, McCain. If you want to be president, you will have plenty more duties that arise without warning just like now.

Hey Cut the Crap:

Hell no I didn’t return my check. I bought a T.V. My wife took a trip. (well that was worth it……..getting her out of my hair for a while.) But seriously, I’m a banking professional. I would prefer having a little piece of mind everyday when I wake up rather than the little stimulus check that I received months ago. Hell, I can’t even remember how much is was. But I can see the bank that I work for falling apart. I just missed being laid off this week and I work for the #2 bank in America.

Cynthia McKinney was the thorn in the administration’s side that wouldn’t go away. She was the one asking the REAL questions about 9/11, the Iraq war, etc., questions the powers that be don’t want discussed in public, e.g. daring to hold this administration accountable on the 2000 election, the missing $2.3 TRILLION dollars at the pentagon, America’s covert activities in Africa that resulted in genocide. She HAD to be “dismissed”. She seemed like the only congressperson speaking up for the American people. So before you diss her find out the facts for YOURSELF. Remember: The unthinking, lead by the thinking, will be thought to death.

Not so, “Charles.”

McKinney, just as her fellow Roman Catholic Michael Moore, had the resources and knowledge available to make statements about Bush/Cheney’s 9/11 treason, rather than to act as “vaccines” with their peripheral questions and comments which actually inoculated the traitors in the White House from being abruptly arrested by Oath-obedient military officers (if there are any).

Cynthia merely wondered aloud of the profits made from post-9/11 policies, withholding the truth, available at the time, that the crime had been a false-flag attack on the People and the Constitution, by those in the White House, in accord with PNAC’s plan for global power expansion due to a “new Pearl Harbor.”

Nine percent of Black Americans vote Gay Oil Party and nine percent of Black Americans are Roman Catholic. Think the two groups don’t have a near 100% overlap?

Cynthia McKinney is in that nine percent. Did she never learn Rome, the Babylonian pedophile priesthood’s ‘hood, was the Wall Street of slavery for 2,000 years? Does she think she’s smarter than America’s Founders or the vast majority of her former constituents?

McKinnedy was no “thorn” in the side of an administration that was cheated into office by only the Roman Catholics on the Supreme Court.

McKinney helped keep them out of court and off the gallows…where they belong.

I am voting for Cynthia McKinney. It is about time the people learn about the stolen slogans and ideas that the Democrats and Republicans have taken from the Green Party.

I think it is about time they face the truth and come to the reality that the Green Party is in control under the leadership of Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente.

To Ruthless One-in Obama’s “The Change We Need” speech- he said “I will cut taxes for 95 percent of all working families. Because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle class.”

This sounds like a person who cares about the finances of the middle class. Here’s a quote from Obama’s acceptance speech Now, I don’t believe that Senator McCain doesn’t care what’s going on in the lives of Americans. I just think he doesn’t know. Why else would he define middle-class as someone making under five million dollars a year? How else could he propose hundreds of billions in tax breaks for big corporations and oil companies but not one penny of tax relief to more than one hundred million Americans? How else could he offer a health care plan that would actually tax people’s benefits, or an education plan that would do nothing to help families pay for college, or a plan that would privatize Social Security and gamble your retirement? It’s not because John McCain doesn’t care. It’s because John McCain doesn’t get it.

  • Obama also identified himself as Christian in the Obama Race speech. McCains speeh on the financial market-” I will propose and sign into law reforms to prevent financial firms from concealing their bad practices.” The speech continues to talk about the bad practices but fails to mention any proposed consequences (other than exposing the financial firms). Someone has to be tough enough to find consequences stiff enough to cause a change in the actions.

Both candidates have a direction that they want to take in order to “heal” this country. Obama wins kudos while drawing out his plan and promoting UNITY among the American people at the same time.

quote from Obama speech I chose to run for the presidency at this moment in history because I believe deeply that we cannot solve the challenges of our time unless we solve them together - unless we perfect our union by understanding that we may have different stories, but we hold common hopes; that we may not look the same and we may not have come from the same place, but we all want to move in the same direction - towards a better future for of children and our grandchildren. United we stand, divided we fall.

I don’t think that anyone would disagree that Obama is not an excellent speaker, he tells the Americans what they want to hear. Tell me in the 4 years as Senator in his state, what did he accomplish, was that in his speech?

Hey Glenn,

The good thing about people like me and you is when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. As long as we put God first, we’ll be alright.

True Debates,

Win by default? That would be another joke right? Everything some of us do, we earn and usually the hard way unlike some folks who think because they FLEW a jet and LISTED one for sale on Ebay give them the right to rule a nation.

Yeah! I am voting McKinney and Green Party too.

The math has been done: McKinney, Barr, Nader, and the Constitution Party guy [Baldwin?] are each on enough ballots to theoretically win enough electoral college votes to WIN. Let the American people hear the views of ALL the candidates who theoretically can win.

And if McCain don’t want to show up, so what? I think that tells us how much he respects the American people as a whole versus his personal $$$ base.
