House Republicans from Georgia voicing qualms about bail-out plan

U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey of Marietta was the voice of doubt this morning, after Republican congressmen heard a sales pitch from Vice President Dick Cheney on the $700 billion bailout of Wall Street.

Bloomberg has posted this:

Cheney met behind closed doors with all House Republicans today to urge support for the administration’s plan to buy troubled investments from financial institutions to prevent a lending freeze. Some Republican lawmakers said the caucus wasn’t entirely convinced.

“Hardly anyone in that room has decided yet how they’re going to vote on this,” said Representative Phil Gingrey, a Georgia Republican, after meeting with Cheney in the House Cannon Office Building.

This issue, like others, has highlighted a division between Georgia’s two senators and House Republicans.

“I believe congressional action is not only necessary but essential,” Isakson said Monday. Saxby Chambliss said something similar.

But here’s U.S. Rep. Paul Broun of Athens: “I am extremely skeptical about the federal government nationalizing a huge section of our financial services. … Socialism has never worked and will not work.”

And Lynn Westmoreland of Coweta County: “If this is rushed through without scrutiny, I will oppose this bill.”

And Jack Kingston of Savannah: “I’m leaning against it.”

Any Republican that does not view this bailout of the corporate scum as some perverted blend of socialism and fascism is not a Republican. Stand up and be counted or resign now and save us the trouble of running you out of office on a rail. Cheney and Bush are already lame ducks. They have nothing left to lose. They sold out the Republican party long ago and now they want all other Republicans to do the same in order to save the cowards of wall street from a more fitting fate.

This is another clear example of the immaturity of the house members from GA. They never hesitate to play politics with any issue no matter the severity. Next week, if nothing is done, when everyone’s 401k, pensions pla, roth IRA, etc… begins a a rapid decent Rep. Kingston, Broun, andf the rest of the blowhards will not be there to save you.

It has taken 79 years to bring the United States full circle financially. The two great Economic visions, of the last century, are now finally able to be judged right and or wrong. 79 years ago America was rocked by the stock market crash which threw her into the great depression. In 1932 FDR’s new deal slowly began to bring the USA back to a point of normalcy which escalated at the time of WWII. The basic theory of Roosevelt was if the American workers have a living wage the country can succeed on the hard work and ingenuity of her sons. From 1932 to 1981 America realized the greatest prosperity of any nation that the world had ever known.

In 1981 Ronald Reagan introduced the world to “Trickle Down” theory economics (which George H. Bush labeled Voodoo economics). The basic theory was that if the Industrialist and captains of industry were given the flexibility to prosper they would in turn pass along those profits to the working class beneath them. With deregulation and small government America’s captains of industry what steer a path to great prosperity. 1981 began the transition in America that dismantled the engine which made her great. Ronald Reagan’s theory of “trickle down” economics reached its apex during the George W. Bush Presidential Administration. As a result of the United States desire to trust and support big business with regard for rules or regulations we have been rewarded the benefit of a total financial melt down and almost total destruction to all our fore fathers and grand parents work so hard to design and died to protect.

Roosevelt vs. Reagan; The America Ronald Reagan so eloquently romanticize us with was framed by the very theory’s he philosophically and politically dismantled and in 2008 we now realize its final curtain call.

Yeah, hey, what’s happening, America. Yeah, we have a problem here. Yeah, it’s a real mess. So I’m gonna need you to ah…. I’m gonna need you to transfer ALL your money into my bank account by Friday, or we’re going to have a complete meltdown that will affect you, your family, your neighbors, and everyone you ever met for generations to come. Mmmmmm-kay? Thanks.

What’s that? No, you don’t get to know what it’s for, who gets it, or how it’s used to avert the crisis. You give it to me, and it’s gone, but you can go ahead and wear your Hawiian shirt and jeans, you know, if you want to. Now, I’m gonna just go ahead and get that stapler now….

Oh, and yeah, I’m gonna need you to also ahhhhh, go ahead and BORROW at least as much as you have now, and then transfer that to my account too. Okay then? Thaaaaaaanks.

“In the dark of night over the weekend when most people were snoozing, the Treasury dramatically expanded its bailout plan to include buying student loans, car loans, credit card debt and any other “troubled” assets held by banks.”

Thank God for the courage of the House Republicans in standing up for the people of our great country. The rest of the Washington system is what is broken and needs to be changed.

Yes, Larry, the House Republicans are really doing their jobs, allright. Surely they’ll all be reelected when massive layoffs occur and no one can get money out of the ATM — all because they slashed all restrictions on fraud, lying, looting, and cooking the books for their executive buddies in the financial industry. They’re not COPS, you know. Not their job to ensure rich people don’t rape and pillage and slink away to the Caymans while everyone else lives with the mess. It’s only THEIR job to get reelected. VOTE REPUBLICAN, because you can never have too much of MORE OF THE SAME!
