ICYMI: Martin hits the airwaves today
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
After making only sporatic appearances since his victory in the Aug. 5 run-off, Jim Martin, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, goes up on TV today.
The full story by AJC writer Ben Smith can be found here, but here’s the gist:
Democrat Jim Martin’s first television ads for the fall U.S. Senate campaign will begin running Tuesday on five Atlanta broadcast stations.
Martin ordered roughly 2 1/2 hours of broadcast airtime to run a total of 294 commercials through next Tuesday.
The cost is $224,445, a heavy buy for a week’s worth of political advertising.
But the sum pales in comparison to the $2.76 million Martin’s incumbent opponent, Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss of Moultrie, spent to run ads all the way to Election Day. Chambliss’ ads began airing in late August, according to records kept by the Atlanta broadcast stations.

Martin is the nominee: it is imperative that we in Georgia, one of the thirteen to create America, must now vomit out of our body politic Bush’s “good buddy” and fellow draft-dodger Saxby Chambliss…for he is complicit. We sent him to “stand in the gate” for the People and he chose to serve “the few.” He is worthy only of our contempt, not our votes.

The Republicans have inverted every position they ever stood for. Now,they stand for nothing. For example:
—They used to be fiscal hawks, now they burn cash by the bushel, demanding no accountability and laughing at the idea of a balanced budget or reducing debt.
—They used to believe in “getting government off your back.” Now they want government intruding in every personal decision imaginable, including when you can turn off the feeding tube to your brain-dead wife. They want to police your pregnancy and monitor every keystroke of your personal computer while listening in and “mining” all of your personal information without a warrant.
—They used to support American traditions as established by the Constitution. Now, they consider such notions as the Bill of Rights “quaint” and “just a scrap of (expletive) paper.”
—They used to deplore hypocrisy, taking the high ground against emotional appeals designed to separate the American taxpayer from his wallet. Now, they are emotional basket cases, making completely irrational appeals for the craziest ideas imaginable. They make absolutely no sense and contradict their own stated beliefs at every turn. Language has become their enemy, so they attempt to destroy it by rendering it meaningless.
—They used to be “conservative” about the use of the military to solve complex problems in the world. There was even a time when they were nearly pacificstic, accusing the Democrats of being “the war party.” Now, they want war anytime, anywhere for any reason, or for no reason at all. They become emotionally agitated about events in South Ossetia and Abkhazia, without knowing the first thing about those regions. They make provocative gestures like planting missiles in Russia’s front yard while intruding in their backyard. They want to bomb Iran, even as our troops are tied down in Iraq and Afghanistan.
—They used to maintain a healthy detachment from religion. Now, they are promoting every snake-handling, tongue-speaking faith healer on the tent circuit. They have corrupted religion and it has corrupted them. The true believers are just tools in their campaign.
—They used to represent the American aristocracy. Now, they ridicule educated “elites” and claim affiliation with the lowest common denominator. But this, too, is a con game, since the leaders all went to prestigious ivy league schools and have nothing in common with the people they claim to represent.
This party, like our nation, is truly bankrupt. The creaky John McCain and the insipid Sarah Palin are truly the dregs of a “movement” that died with the election of George W. Bush. It’s time to put an end to our misery.

I liked Saxby until I found out his son was a lobbyist & wrote most of Saxby’s legislation. Saxby is owned by special interest & works against the interest of the little people of Georgia. My vote & money is going to Martin.

There is hope for the above “Churchill”…you may qualify as an American yet! Now, repeat after me: “Bush did 9/11, his father killed John Kennedy to get us dead in Vietnam, and his Knight of Malta-grandfather was Hitler’s banker.”
Death for Treason…Be a real American.

Will, seriously, I really, really, REALLY dislike Saxby/Bush/Republicans, but you aren’t doing us any favors. All of that “Bush’s G-dad was a Hitler banker” stuff doesn’t matter. What DOES matter is that Bush/McCain/Saxby have totally shafted our government for a generation. It will take 30 years to clean up the mess the Republicans made in the last 8-12. Comments like the one you made, however, allow people to forget stuff like that, so quit it.

“Ben” - turn your back on America’s Founders if you wish. I consider them anointed and choose to continue to learn from their prophetic writings. They, as Whigs, believed that history unfolds as a result of the conflict between Rome, and everyone else. I appreciate their historical interpretation and believe it to be just as valid today, as the anniversary of Bush/Cheney’s 9/11 treason approaches, as it was when Meriwether Lewis and Lincoln were assassinated by Roman agents, the Robber Barons and BIG OIL; the Kennedy assassination the Knights of Malta-led CIA, and false war in Vietnam for the pope; off-shoring, inflation through the Fed and the false war in Iraq and Afghanistan for oil and heroin, as it was when Adams and Jefferson discussed it in their Postroad Correspondence. Read it yourself.
If you think you are more intelligent than those chosen for immortality by G-d Almighty in the Founding of this New Israel, let us all know.
The key is extirpation of the treasonous faction, Obama is only a small step in the right direction. The People know Bush committed 9/11. Act stupid if you wish. The People are smart. McCain/Palin’s only hope is another successful cheat on Election Day…then there will be much to pay.
The false-elite will permit Obama the White House that their ill-gotten gains and lives not be lost.
