Barr: ‘McCain wants me off the ballot in Pennsylvania’

Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr says GOP rival John McCain is behind an attempt in Pennsylvania to drive him off the ballot.

“This move is certainly one of the more brazen attempts to lock me out of the political process,” Barr said in a press release this evening. “I challenge Senator McCain to forcefully and publicly instruct his agents to drop the lawsuit.”

Here’s the one of more detailed accounts of the challenge against Barr’s candidacy.

Recent polls in Pennsylvania, which place Barack Obama in the lead, may help explain GOP motivation.

Barr pointed out that McCain himself fought similar attempts to force him from the New York ballot in 2000, and pulled out a quote that the Republican used eight years ago:

“Let’s not have the kind of Stalinist politics that the state of New York, the Republican Party, has been practicing.”

TO: EX democrackkk, Stop it! You embarrass Dr.Paul and yourself. Notice Churchill’s comment! I don’t like the guy at all but he displays a common misunderstanding, that everyone inspired by Ron Paul is out of touch. He is not running so now we have to make a choice and except it.

Is McCain worried he won’t be able to win an honest election? Maybe it’s time to squelch the popular vote again by using the pre-emptive strike tactic Americans have come to accept.

Someone call a wahmbulance for former congressman Barr.

and that’s what it really boils down to. Bob Barr is just spiteful that he couldn’t keep his seat and is taking it out on his (former) party because he lost in a primary. Cynthia McKinney is the same way, though less sane.

Is there anyone who believes that if Barr had defeated Linder that he would be a Libertarian? No, he’d be Minority Whip or something like that.

Barr is a megalomaniacal crybaby and nothing more. He is Ross Perot with smaller ears and less money. I find it ironic that he’s the candidate for the party that led to his congressional demise. I find it unfortunate that he is so spiteful toward the party that brought him to prominence.
