Turn the lights out on John Edwards, says Roy Barnes
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
My AJC colleague Aaron Gould Sheinin caught up with former Gov. Roy Barnes today. Barnes was Edwards’ preeminent supporter in Georgia during the primary season. He led the fund-raising push among Georgia attorneys, and turned out at several rallies for the man.
But Barnes now had this to say about Edwards’ behavior:
“I’m very disappointed. I don’t think there’s any other way that I can express it. I feel sorrow for him, and for all the supporters. I particularly feel sorry for Elizabeth.
“I’m very surprised. I never saw any such conduct when I was with him. I hope it’s an aberration that he can seek forgiveness for. I think he’s pretty much destroyed any political career he might have had.”

Wow - you gotta give it to Roy for reading between the lines on this one! You mean to tell me that losing a presidential nomination race…..THEN being chosen as the VP to the winner just to lose again…..THEN running again and losing the nomination race…..THEN cheating on your wife while she is dying is harmful to a political career? He must have picked Bobby “Not Exactly Atwater” Kahn’s brain for a golden nugget like that! Man, do these Democrats catch on SLOW!

John Edwards political career has been enhanced by this affair. He is still youthful looking. In the Democratic party, if you can pull in votes & pull in the $$$, you are still welcomed in the party. The Dems motto: We have all SINED...By Just Observing

The essence of Party politics.....Xgovernor Roy Barner endorsed John Edwards & didn't know squat about the man's character...You think.......Was this Edwards first affair???....The Democratic Party is organized crime & the MSM is the propaganda arm of the party..For God's sake.....Bill Clinton is revered in the party & he makes Edwards seem like a Boy Scout.By American Streaker

In watching modern politics played out on TV, I get the feeling I'm in the Twilight Zone...FOXS NEWS, to be fair, has pundits for both Obama & McCain defend & promote their guy...McCain cleaned Obama's clock......but....Obama's spinners painted a different picture...Spinners will tell you what you saw was not real.Reality is what they say.Obama did not mean what he said. Here is what he meant. The MSM has been the loudest spinner Edwards affair.By funnyBone

The professionals in the MSM were scooped by the NE on a story as transparent as a goldfish bowl. The MSM played like a blind man during CAMELOT,when Sinatra was supplying JFK & Robert with women including Marilyn Monroe......Same MSM, just different names for Dems. Edwards & an aide both slept with the mistress. Dems share their mistresses with buddies.By Dr. Freud

Gee Roy, you thought he was getting $400.00 hair cuts to impress his wife? Vanity, and selfishness is bi-partisan, and as such, maybe he’ll live this one down.

Yes, John Edwards has committed political suicide. At least he wasn’t the presumptive Democratic nominee when the walls came crashing down.

I’ve seen Nixon and Kissinger come back from worse humiliation.
