Cops on Tuesday didn’t want to see another Derwin Brown
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
In a recent conversation, a fellow mentioned that he had attended the victory celebration of Kem Kimbrough, who on Tuesday defeated incumbent Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill in the Democratic run-off.
Law enforcement officers — some from Clayton, some not — swarmed to the location and threw up a cordon around the new nominee, the fellow said. The 2000 assassination of Derwin Brown in DeKalb County was on their mind.
Eldrin Bell, chairman of the Clayton County Commission, on Friday confirmed the essentials. One neighboring sheriff brought four deputies, he said, out of concern for the safety of the sheriff-elect. “That’s what they were particularly worried about,” said Bell, who survived his own challenge on Tuesday.

Keep an eye on Sheriff Walking Small, the little pygmey is going to do something. They should keep him in a shoebox until the new Sheriff is in office.

Kimbrough is not the Sheriff-elect, yet. He has to face Rainwater in November.

Why hasn’t hill came forward to concede to Kimbrough ?
Why hasn’t he met with his staff, since the election ?
The Tax Payers and Voters of Clayton County would like a few questions answered by the Sheriff.
victor hill should Man Up, concede with dignity, and begin preparing to move on . Clayton County is changing ,and right now, hill is an embarrassment.. Dead weight can’t hold this county down again.

Most of us know drilling for energy national security is a smoke screen. I don’t like giving up new area’s for drilling. But to get to a clean renewable energy future - so be it. When the price for oil goes down in 15 years the oil companies will just stop drilling anyway.

In a television interview this morning, I heard Jack Rainwater criticize Kimbrough for accepting extra security. In fact, what he said was almost word-for-word what biggdawg96 said above.
What difference does it make if he’s not the sheriff-elect? The voters in Clayton County understand that the demented dwarf is unstable, unpredictable and worthy of everyone’s concern.
If Rainwater and his supporters can underestimate Victurd, I don’t have any faith in his ability to lead the sheriff’s office.

Sad that our society has come to this — a newly elected sheriff having to be protected from the sheriff who was defeated! We seem to be rushing with deliberate speed to becoming a third world country — our public education system is another prime example. SAD!
