InsiderAdvantage poll: Georgia remains within Obama’s reach

Matt Towery’s InsiderAdvantage has put up some paragraphs on another poll of Georgia voters, this one taken July 29, that puts the presidential race thusly:

— Republican John McCain, 45 percent;

— Democrat Barack Obama, 41 percent;

— Libertarian Bob Barr, 5 percent;

— And undecided, 18 percent.

The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percent.

Georgia is ripe for Obama to capture in the fall. Now it depends who he picks as a VP. Sebelius, Nunn, Bayh, Hagel would bring him the state.

This poll is adorable, but I just don’t see Georgia going Socialist in the fall. Sorry!

Robby, your thinking is stuck in time. Georgians are feeling the pain of the policies of the party they supported in 2002 and 2006.

For the first time in long time Georgia’s electorate is leaning toward putting the nation’s interest above party loyalty.

The current leaning will be intensely challenged in the coming months with scare tactics, which will really test the intellect and maturity of Georgia voters.

Hopefull and optimistic are the only things that can be said with certainty at this juncture.

Obama doesn’t have a realistic chance here. The closest he could get is within 3 or 4%. while that may sound close, when you are talking millions of votes cast, a few percentage points can add up to a lot of actual votes. Even if he gets 99% of the blacks, which looks feasible, he won’t be able to carry enough of the white vote.

Using the word “socialist” as a catch-all “be afraid” tactic is SOOOOOO last century, Dude. People are tired of paying for a system that doesn’t work for them. Despite claims of small government and fiscal reponsibility from the GOP, we are all paying more for what benefits a only a few. Fixing what’s broken so that it works for us isn’t “socialist,” it’s common sense, and that’s not Un-American, and it won’t make us French. So find a new song to sing, because we’re turning this one OFF.

I prefer the term Marxist to describe them, Robby. The definition works better for them. You are on the right track, though. Peace.

Matilda, You mistakenly wrote, “People are tired of paying for a system that doesn’t work for them.”

You are mistaken. The system is working for those who pay.

It isn’t working for those who don’t pay.

Fix it for them and it’s called SOCIALISM.

Please try again.

Is this another poll where they polled like 19% R’s and 33% D’s and 26 % I’s? Democrats always do well in polls where they make up the majority of those polled. Obama got no, zero bounce from his little field trip to overseas. McCain is gaining in all of the battle ground states. Things are changing out there.

On top of that you have Ludacris out there embarrassing Obama with his gangsta rap. And today Obama played the race card. I thought he was the post-racial candidate? I think that Obama is in trouble. He still cannot get over 50% in the national polls. He should, with all the liberal media’s help be up 25 points over McCain.

What is wrong with the hopefully, changeable candidate. You libs said that the whole wide world was ready and waiting just on pins and needles to go and vote for Obama. To listen to Obama talk about himself, (you know he’s a new great symbol of America now, he said so himself.) you would think that he thinks he has this thing in the bag. I call that presumptuous and over huberistic.

You libs are in for a huge let down, come fall. Once you start drinking your own kool-aid, like Obama has, it is almost impossible to recover. I know that you libs will say that the reason Obama unable to garner enough support is because the USA is a racist country, but that is not it. People are getting to know Obama now. Remember the lib- media types used to say that the reason he could finish off Clinton was because not enough Americans knew him yet? Well, the are getting to know him. I don’t think it is going to be a fast friendship. Peace.

From the article:

Incidentally, here’s how the electorate self-identifies itself this year:

Republican, 39% Democrat, 40% Independent, 18% Libertarian, 3%

I classify myself as an Independent who leans Libertarian. I have yet to hear a conservative explain why I should vote for McCain. All they ever do is whine about Obama. Why should I vote for McCain instead of Obama or Barr?

McCain knows what he is doing. Obama hasn’t the slightest idea. That’s why. Plus Obama is a sleeper Muslim.

So, Churchill admits he has a thing for the rise from his guys. So Craig-like. Your guys probably think that you make a good Republican stall-mate. A true Republican party-favor. No peace for you — now get into your aramid-lined jumpsuit and go do some more war-mongering.

Obama’s lead is shrinking in a few key states that he must have to have a chance at winning. He will never take Georgia. The more he keeps looking and sounding like Jesse Jackson the way he did after the McCain ad compared him to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, he’ll lose even bigger in Georgia as well as other states he had hoped to make grounds in. He needs to be very careful playing the race card, it could come back to haunt him and do much harm to him. The we have the rp song that came out, I am sure the Obama camp had a collective heart attack hearing the rapper hoodrat rapping what he said. That will get him lots of white male votes.

Simply put….look at all of Obama’s proposals. Add up the cost for all of those. Add in the fact that what we currently pay for is beyond the budget. Therefore, the trillions in new programs for Barry’s plans drive us deeper into debt. Add this little nugget - tell me when in history during a financial crunch where taking more money out of the system in taxes actually HELPS the economy. Tell me how taxing and removing people’s spending power helps create jobs and spurs the economy. And tell me how taxing companies out of the country helps to create jobs IN the country. Simply put, Obamanomics finishes the economy off. So by all means, if you want to drive our nation’s economic abilities into the ground vote for Obama.

“Cost of 100 Years of War in Iraq: 1 Gimillion Dollars.”

McCain’s plan is more expensive.

A: “blahblahblah! Get your facts straight! Obama’s plan costs more than McCains! Blahblahblah! Look at GNP blahblahblha.”

Counter response: Look at Economic stratification under Republican presidents over the last 20 years.

McCain is more expensive…for ME.

McCain is willing to let me or those I love potentially go into economic ruin because of lack of health care.

Republicans DO. NOT. CARE. about people like me, and anyone who falls for their trash is stupid.

Does calling you stupid make me an elitist? Well get out the party hats and the labels then cause I’m calling you stupid. I’m an elitist late sipping child.

And I’m calling you stupid.

“Other Dude,” your asssertion that it works for those who pay is false. Everyone is paying more for energy, food, health care, insurance, communication, utilities, college, and everything else while our wages stagnate or fall off. THIS is what your money-worshipping GOP has arranged, and it’s working quite well for the oil companies and defense contractors, Saudis, and the top three percent of richest Americans. Check your Exxon stock today? The rest of us pay and pay and pay and get less and less in return. It’s not the removal of taxes from our paychecks that’s making us go broke. It’s the lack of alternatives to making Exxon’s top executives richer than GOD.

Well Aaron, I am going to call you a Stalinist, pinko-commie liberal panty waste. I have some party hats of my own. Lets Party!!!!!

Let us all try to remember that the top 20 % of wage earners foot 70% of the total tax bill. The bottom 50% (democrats) pay 4% of that bill. A little perspective.

Holds up a latte Champaign glass to DaninMacon, “Names I wear proudly my Fascist Rovite Ditto Head drooler friend”.

And, while it is true that 20% of the people do 80% of the work that actually matters in the world, and some of them are indeed entrepreneurs who really do work hard and make the world a better place, for every 1 of those there are 9 pointy haired Carl Icahn’s who don’t do anything but act like sharks and give no bid contracts to their good ole boy buddies who also, happen to be Republicans.

Our economy would suck without those real bright stars, the inventors and the innovators who make things work.

Course I honestly think that a lot of those are Libertarian….there’s a few who who are compotent who are still jerks (like Swift Boat T. Boone Pickins) but you know, Mr. PIckin’s is actually trying to do something about the energy security problems in this country.

But the fact of the matter is that the real ‘elites’ in this country, the real people who actually do the work that let the rest of us live, are often the poorest of us all, like the one guy in ten who actually does that work getting his hands dirty while the others stand around him watching him work on that road, or the guy that fixes your car (the one honest mechanic) and Republicans don’t do anything for them, but these good honest men are hypnotized by the radio and, because they have to work so hard to survive, don’t know any better.

And while we’re talking about people who actually make the world work lets not forget about those in the shadows, like the honest Immigrant who gets caught up in the racist stupidity and xenophobia here, who works hard to learn english and works their fingers to the bone, only to be told ‘go home’.

Or the other forgotten people who make this world work, like women. Women who can’t get ahead in the executive world or who stay at home and raise their children but, if one of their children gets sick might die because they can’t afford the health care to keep them from dying.

You know, like SCHIP that you Republicans voted down.

Course, there are stupid people in every category, like the women who were democrats until they had children, who suddenly don’t care about anything but their children and so they vote Republican thinking that will some how make things better….or the black people who think that just because someone is black that you should vote for them…..

Or the elitist snobs who keep posting here thinking that anyone is going to listen.

Yeah, the world is full of stupid people alright and I’m one of them.

But at least I’m not voting for John McCain and at least I’m not voting for Vernon Jones.
