Colbert’s apology to Canton: A haven of ‘oxygen and paved roads’

Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert issued what he called “a rare apology” on Wednesday night, for his reference to the Cherokee County town as the “crappy Canton” that can’t possibly be preferred over the Ohio version.

See his attempt below.

Apparently faced with extreme pressure from Georgia residents, the host of “The Colbert Report” praised the Georgia’s city’s oxygen and paved roads.

You have to wonder if Colbert knows how close he came to tragedy. Had he aimed just a little south, had he tarnished the burg of Kennesaw — well, those people have guns.
