‘Wall Street got drunk,’ says Bush — at a private fund-raiser, much like the one in Atlanta
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Last Friday, President Bush was at a private fund-raiser in Houston to benefit a Republican challenger against U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson, a Democrat.
The circumstances were very much like Bush’s visit to Atlanta on Tuesday. The press was barred. Video cameras were ordered turned off.
But someone pushed the button on the video function of a mobile phone, then posted the results on YouTube.
Said Bush:
“There’s no question about it. Wall Street got drunk. That’s one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras. It got drunk and now it’s got a hangover. The question is, how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments?”
On Wednesday, a day after the president’s in-an-out trip to Atlanta, White House press secretary Dana Perino was asked if a pool reporter might be allowed to listen to what the president says in such circumstances, or whether the White House might provide a transcript.
According to The Hill newspaper:
Perino noted that she inherited that policy, and she said she does not expect it to change.
She did concede that the president’s remarks were “certainly a more colorful way” of making the same case he has made before.
Perino said all public figures have to be “guarded” in their remarks in the era of YouTube and other technological advances, and it’s important that the president be afforded opportunities, including off-the-record talks with reporters, where he can speak candidly.

He sure does stumble, doesn’t he? He was doing that at one of my Superbowl parties back in the 70’s. Found him in the bathtub later, making himself comfortable against the cool tile. Much easier than standing up. That’s a good boy, George. Talk about what you know.

Wall Street got drunk… His foreign policy got drunk… Economic policy? Drunk.
Just one big party to ‘w’, McCain, and the rest of the wealthy whose backsides don’t have to pay for this abortion of a presidency…just one big party.
Thanks, guys.

Well, It would appear that Bush finally has the idea right. Don’t say too many big words and reference what you know.
McCain is worse, but on the other side, Obama isn’t much better. If I had my way, neither of them would be in office, RON PAUL FTW.
Sometimes one has to laugh at all the people that were shocked when bush “won” the election, considering both the candidates were from the same agenda: Both are Skull and Bonesman, Both want the same thing, just have different ways to go there, Both are even from the same family (their cousin Hef in the Playboy Mansion invited them out for a party they never attended, cus they were in Bohemian grove at the time)
You may tell me to put my tinfoil hat away, but There are too many coincidences for it to be a coincidence. Think about it, If any validity of this can be obtained (Bush and Kerry being related, both wanting the same end, etc.) the Theory then becomes a Conspiracy Possibility

I’m hoping someone in Atlanta had the good sense to roll some kinda tape on Bush here in Buckhead at that pricey fundraiser recently. The one that negated any votes he might of picked up for the dude in middle Georgia by royally p*ssing-off just about every voter in Atlanta with the traffic CF created by the motorcade.
Heck, someone should just start a Bush Fundraiser Nonsense Words YouTube channel. Now I wonder who’d be woman enough for that assignment…

Okay copyleft here is just a few of the comparisons of my guy McCain and your inexperienced fast talker. If this is what you want to vote for you DO NOT know the facts but I will try to wise you up a little. Marxism sucks and that is your guys policies. Read on.
If you want “CHANGE” this will do it.
CAPITAL GAINS TAX
MCCAIN 0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples) McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.
OBAMA 28% on profit from ALL home sales
How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.
DIVIDEND TAX
MCCAIN 15% (no change)
OBAMA 39.6%
How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama become president. The experts predict that ‘higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.
INCOME TAX
MCCAIN (no changes)
Single making 30K - tax $4,500 Single making 50K - tax $ 12,500 Single making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 60K- tax $9,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250
OBAMA (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts) Sin gle making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 125K - tax $38,750
Under Obama your taxes will more than double! How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight forward.
INHERITANCE TAX
MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)
OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax
How does this affect you? Many families have lost businesses, farms and ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will not only lose them to these taxes.
NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA
New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet
New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren’t high enough already)
New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)
New taxes on retirement accounts and last but not least….
New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!
How Could Anyone With 1/2 a Brain Vote For This ?????????

He has no experience at anything except writing a couple of books and being a habitual liar and is double talking worse than John Kerry. He will be exposed and most Americans are going to see through his rock star rhetoric campaign shows when the debates start. Of course some people will vote for him for one reason even if they know he is not worthy and that is just sad. How ignorant are we of history, seriously? This happens again and again, yet people just don’t see the pattern. Anybody recall Jimmy Carter? Poor guy got blamed for the “Guns and Butter” policies of the previous administrations dating back to Eisenhower. It’s really simple, all we do is print new money to pay for the war. By the time the public realizes that their money is devalued, we’ll be long-since out of office and some other sap will be blamed. Each time they do it, it takes a little less time to reap the consequences, however. Bush’s showed up a little earlier than expected and now Obama will likely preside over one of the worst economic periods in our history, though, Bush will carry most of the blame for this one. Still Obama’s is not an enviable place to be, in my opinion. (Anybody doubt he wins in November? Really???)
What’s more frightening is that Obama has no plan to stray from the course when it comes to government spending beyond its means. What does that mean to you? More inflation. Higher gas and food prices, higher prices on anything imported which is most of what you buy these days. This is the hidden tax that all of us pay as a result of our nation’s over-indulgent political elite.
I’m done with the Dems and Republicans. Neither party has made a sound decision for this country in 100 years and neither deserves my vote, or anyone else’s.

It really surprises me that so many otherwise intellegent people (Warren Buffet)cannot see through Obama and the numerous changes he has in mind. He, as well as all Democrats, seem to believe it is wrong to work hard and smart, take risks, and accumulate wealth. The poor and lower middle class are always referred to as “the working class.” How do they suppose the wealthy got to where they are? Most have worked far harder than “the working class.” Seems to me Obama is nothing short of a Communist! He wants to take from those who have it & stop at nothing to make everyone equal. That is not democracy!! Think about that those of you who want change so badly! All change is not good! McCain may be old, but that age has given him much needed experience and wisdom!! He’s our man!!

TTCO: Well, I see you’re on the “Silly Republican Lies” mailing list… do you also forward VIRUS ALERTS and LIGHTS OUT!” warnings about cruising gang members?
http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/wouldobamataxmyprofitsifi.html
Home Sales: The claim that Obama would impose a 28 percent tax on the profit from “all home sales” is false. Both Obama and McCain would continue to exempt the first $250,000 of gain from the sale of a primary residence ($500,000 for a married couple filing jointly) which results in zero tax on all but a very few home sales.
Capital Gains Rate: It’s untrue that Obama is proposing a 28 percent capital gains tax rate. He said in an interview on CNBC that he favors raising the top rate on capital gains from its present 15 percent to 20 percent or more, but no higher than 28 percent. And as for a 28 percent rate, he added, “my guess would be it would be significantly lower than that.” Furthermore, he has said only couples making $250,000 or more (or, his policy advisers tell us, singles making more than $200,000) would pay the higher capital gains rate. That means the large majority of persons who pay capital gains taxes would see no increase at all.
Tax on Dividends: Another false claim is that Obama proposes to raise the tax rate on dividends to 39.6 percent. Dividends currently are taxed at a top rate of 15 percent, and Obama would raise that to the same rate as he would tax capital gains, somewhere between 20 percent and 28 percent but likely “significantly” lower than 28 percent. This higher tax also would fall only on couples making $250,000 or more or singles making more than $200,000.
Taxing IRAs and 529s: Contrary to the claim in this e-mail, raising tax rates on capital gains or dividends would not result in higher taxes on any investments held in Individual Retirement Accounts or in popular, tax-deferred “college funds” under section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code. The whole point of such tax-deferred plans is that dividends and capital gains are allowed to accumulate and compound tax-free, and neither Obama nor McCain proposes to change that. And as previously mentioned, any capital gains or dividend income from stocks, bonds or mutual funds owned outside of tax-deferred accounts would continue to be taxed at current rates except for couples making over $250,000, or singles making more than $200,000.
Doubled Taxes? The claim that “Under Obama your taxes will more than double!” is also false. The comparative rate tables this e-mail provides for McCain and Obama are entirely wrong, as we explained in an earlier article March 13 about another false e-mail from which these tables are copied. It is supposedly a comparison of tax rates before and after the Bush tax cuts, but it grossly overstates the effect of the Bush cuts. Furthermore, Obama proposes to retain the Bush cuts for every single income level shown in this bogus table.
Estate Tax: The claim that Obama proposes to “restore the inheritance tax” is also false, as are the claims that McCain would impose zero tax and that Bush “repealed” it. McCain and Obama both would retain a reduced version of the estate tax, as it is correctly called, though McCain would reduce it by more.
You’ve really got to start questioning the Limbaugh and O’Reilly-style spam that litters your inbox every morning, instead of just gullibly nodding and forwarding it.

Oh and by the way here is just a little more of your guys ignorance about how to run a country. BARACK OBAMA: I’m going to call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and give them a new mission, and that is to bring the war in Iraq to a close. We are going to get out.
There’s only one problem. The Joint Chiefs of Staff does not have operational command of U.S. military forces. That authority resides in the commanders of the various Unified Combatant Commands. CENTCOM is the command with responsibility for Iraq [and 26 other countries including Afghanistan and Pakistan]. Earlier this month, the Senate confirmed Pres. Bush’s appointment of Gen. David Petraeus as CENTCOM commander. Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno is the new US commander for Iraq, replacing Gen. Petraeus. Those are the people, along with the Secretary of Defense, to whom the orders Obama spoke of would be issued. And you want him to be the commander in chief when he dosent even know the chain of command? I will take my guy a distiguished war veteran with a long military background. I guesss you will say this is a lie also but the video is out there for the public to see as are newspaper quotes and videos of the aforementioned tax measures you say are lies. Here is more proof that Nobama plans on raising taxes. Beneath Obama’s flowery rhetoric lies a dangerous economic plan that will wreak havoc on the American economy.
Obama plans to return to the failed policies of high taxation coupled with an expansion of government spending.
Worse, Obama says he is absolutely committed to almost doubling the capital gains rate — something he will easily accomplish with a Democrat Congress.
In the coming months — when investors realize that Obama will raise the cap gains rate — there could be a stampede of asset sales as investors rush to take their profits now to avoid Obama’s doubling of the tax rates next year.
Indeed, Obama makes no bones about his plans to go on a tax rampage. Not only would he increase the capital-gains tax rate from 15 percent to as much as 28 percent, he wants to allow the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts to expire in 2010, which effectively raises taxes on Americans by tens of billions of dollars.
He also wants to do away with the $102,000 FICA payroll tax cap, which means anyone making over $102,000 would pay an additional 7 percent in taxes on earned income.
And the loan dividend tax rate George Bush implemented? Under President Obama it will be DOA! If these are lies Copyleft then prove it!

I realize this is difficult for you to admit because you dont believe the facts about this marxist done nothing bum that you want to elect for only one reason which is very sad. It frightens me to know I live in the same world with some of you people! Oh and about one of his latest commercials which is a pack of lies as well as some of his claims in his books here comes the truth because as you know I make The Truth come Out!
A close look at Barack Obama’s career reveals it has been even more mediocre than generally recognized.
Before being elected to the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked as a community organizer and a lawyer in Chicago.
In his memoir, Obama says being a community organizer taught him how to motivate the powerless and work the government to help them. His chief example is an effort to remove asbestos from Altgeld Gardens, an all-black public housing project on Chicago’s South Side.
But those who were involved in the effort say Obama played a minor role in working the problem and never accomplished his goal. A pre-existing group at Altgeld Gardens and a local newspaper, the Chicago Reporter, were working on the problem before Obama came on the scene, yet Obama does not mention them in his book, “Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.”
“Just because someone writes it, doesn’t make it true,” says Altgeld resident Hazel Johnson, who had been pushing for a cleanup of the cancer-producing substance years before Obama showed up.
Rep. Bobby L. Rush, D-Ill., says it was Johnson’s work, along with asbestos testing by the Chicago Reporter, that got Chicago officials interested in the issue. Rush, who launched an inquiry into the situation when he was a member of the Chicago City Council, says he is “offended” that Obama did not mention Johnson in his account.
“Was [Obama] involved in stuff? Absolutely,” says Robert Ginsburg, an activist who worked with Johnson and Obama on the problem. “But there was stuff happening before him, and after him.”
After three years working as an organizer, Obama could say he helped obtain grants for a jobs program and got asbestos removed from some pipes in the project. But as the Los Angeles Times has noted, the “large-scale change that was needed at the 1,998-unit project was beyond his reach.” To this day, most of the asbestos remains in the apartments.
Fruitless though his efforts were, Obama devoted more than 100 pages to his experiences at Altgeld Gardens and surrounding areas. Michelle Obama has said his work as a community organizer helped him decide “how he would impact the world,” assisting people to improve their lives. Yet, in a revealing passage in his book, Obama wrote, “When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn’t answer them directly.”
Instead, he said, “I’d pronounce on the need for change. Change in the White House, where Reagan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds. Change in the congress, compliant and corrupt. Change in the mood of the country, manic and self-absorbed. Change won’t come from the top, I would say. Change will come from a mobilized grass roots.”
Thus, Obama admitted that he accomplished little but that he was able to cover that up with fancy talk about change.
After going to Harvard Law School, Obama returned to Chicago, where he briefly headed a voter registration drive and then became a lawyer. While Obama’s campaign has touted him as a civil rights lawyer, “Over the nine years that Obama’s law license was active in Illinois, he never handled a trial and mostly worked in teams of lawyers who drew up briefs and contracts in a variety of cases,” according to David Mendell’s “Obama: From Promise To Power.”
A review of the cases Obama worked on during his brief legal career “shows he played the strong, silent type in court, introducing himself and his client, then stepping aside to let other lawyers do the talking,” the Chicago Sun-Times has reported.
“A search of all the cases in Cook County Circuit Court in which Obama made an appearance since he graduated from Harvard in 1991 shows: zero,” the article said.
Instead, his practice was “confined mainly to federal court in Chicago, where he made formal appearances in only five district court cases and another five in cases before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — a total of 10 cases in his legal career,” the paper said.
If Obama had virtually no impact as either a community organizer or as a lawyer, he was even more invisible in the state Senate and later in the U.S. Senate.
In both bodies, Obama had a reputation for voting “present,” thus avoiding controversial decisions that could be used against him later. In the U.S. Senate, he has missed more than one in five votes.
Only one of the measures Obama has sponsored as a U.S. senator was enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”
Contrary to Obama’s portrayal of himself as a unifier, on every bipartisan effort in the Senate to forge compromises on tough issues, Obama has been missing in action.
In sum, it would be difficult to imagine a more mediocre record. Most candidates for dog catcher have contributed more to society. Yet with the help of adoring reporters, Obama has managed to parlay extraordinary speaking and political skills into a presidential campaign built on sand.
The idea that America might entrust its security and future to someone who has never demonstrated an ability to get anything of significance done is scary.
Look for John McCain to begin exploiting this vulnerability after Labor Day.

Copyleft is a crybaby. Only libs and Saxby obsessed idiots like Tom GA Hunter/ GA Values are allowed to name hijack. I find the practice to be childish, but it makes me laugh to hear them camplain about it. I encourage whomever is doing it. Keep it up. When libs get mad they get nasty, and their tolerance and diversity go right out the window. Peace.

Copyleft I know RE:3:46 that wasnt you. I however am not a racist and dont believe that all black people that support Nobama think that a person is a racist just because they do not support him. I am however a God fearing, gun toting, veteran, conservative, Republican voting, since Jimmy Carter, 52 year old man who has seen a lot of scam artist and Nobama is top five on that list! The rest were criminals and the jury is still out on him in my eyes LOL!
