DEL.ICIO.USMcCain camp works to rally Georgia

Republican John McCain announced the statewide leadership team for his presidential bid Monday in a raucous event at the Georgia Capitol.
While the Arizona senator himself was not there, the event, and three similar ones held around the state, showcased the GOP nominee-in-waiting for the first time since McCain claimed the party mantle.
More than 100 supporters gathered on the north steps inside the Capitol as Alec Poitevint, the Republican activist who chaired McCain’s primary campaign here, announced the state campaign chairs. Joining him as co-chairs of the general election campaign are Gov. Sonny Perdue and U.S. Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson. Perdue and Isakson both spoke at Monday’s event.

McCain is finished. You know it. His blank stare into space at that reporter’s ambush question about birth control? Give me a break. His team hasn’t even prepared this clown properly for a campaign. You’ve got to rehearse answers to tuff impromptu questions every day. His handlers are amateurs.
I offer my services to John McCain. He can take the white house, but not without me.

I think if you have been checked by the FBI and the GBI you should be able to carry a firearm anywhere you please. ITs the thugs that dont care what the laww says that these nuts have to worry about.Don`t worry about the people with permits…………..

Governor Perdue is to be applauded for supporting the law as passed by the people’s elected representatives. HP89 contains language which allows GFL holders to carry in public places and on public transportation. Mayor Franklin and Airport Manager DeCosta argue incorrectly that the airport is by definition a “public gathering.” Examples of “public gatherings” in the bill are sporting events, church functions, and political rallies. It is reasonable to conclude from the examples cited in HB89 that “public gathering” would be more an event than a geographic location. Mayor Franklin and Manager DeCosta seek to bend the definitions to suit their supralegal purposes.
Given the lengths to which the city is apparently willing to go to enforce their ex cathedra pronouncements as law, it would not surprise me to learn that the Mayor of Atlanta favors the same gun safety laws that have kept the residents of Washington D.C. so safe for so long.

John McCain today is poised to make the biggest mistake of his 2008 presidential run. The presumptive Republican nominee will address the annual convention of the National Council of La Raza in San Diego. La Raza is billed by too many as simply “the nation’s largest Hispanic rights group.” But this is perhaps the most radical apologist group for illegal immigration and the “rights” of illegal aliens — and worse. Columnist Michelle Malkin has been a consistent chronicler of La Raza’s proclivities. It sponsors taxpayer-financed “militant ethnic nationalist charter schools.” It “has perfected the art of the politically correct shakedown at taxpayer expense” and “partnering with banks that do business with illegals.” And it “thrives on ethnic supremacy — and the elite sheeple’s unwillingness to call it what it is,” Ms. Malkin says. And John McCain yet again will stand before such a group today? John McCain yet again will legitimize behavior that, practiced by anyone else, quickly would be exposed and vilified as the racism that it is? For shame, Senator. For shame.

McCain may not be perfect, but at least he is not some sort of “sleeper” Muslim. ObamaOsama will never be President. He is losing his edge in the polls and he will continue to the more people get to know him.

McCain’s got to win GA and VA to win in the fall. I think he will, though he’ll have to work a little harder than Bush did… if only because Obama will rally more black voters. Basically, McCain needs to win about everything Bush did and then try to steal a rustbelt state or two (like Michigan) for insurance.

Rex, that assumes that every non-black voter in GA and VA who voted for Bush has been happy with the results of the past eight years.
It assumes that those voters will continue to vote Republican and are happy with what a Republican administration has produced. I think the poll numbers suggest otherwise.
Sure, there are bound to be a FEW dyed-in-the-wool Republican drones who can’t learn from their mistakes… but how many? And is that enough for McLame to actually have a shot? Doubtful.

The McSame argument will not work. John McCain has spent years cultivating his image as a maverick. You guys have been running against Bush since 2000. I think you strategy is flawed. You guys better come up with something else, if you hope to win.
