A last-minute charge: Chamblee says DeKalb and Jones refused to clean up property that became a killing ground
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
If you talk to Vernon Jones supporters, this is sure to be characterized as a July surprise, suspiciously timed to thwart his Democratic bid for the U.S. Senate:
Chamblee [city] officials say they’re dead serious about a charge that DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones deserves criticism for a recent killing there because DeKalb refused to clean up the murder site.
Chamblee Mayor Eric Clarkson and Police Chief Marc Johnson say Jones has personally been the stumbling block in getting a piece of county-owned land in the north DeKalb city cleaned up —- and now a slaying has happened in the overgrown woods. On June 24, police say 35-year-old Galdino Cruz Salinas was killed on a neglected plot of county land at the north end of the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
Read the rest of the AJC story here.
Look for this to be a topic during two televised, one-hour debates this weekend. The five candidates — Jones, Dale Cardwell, Rand Knight, Josh Lanier and Jim Martin — will gather at WSB-TV studios this afternoon for a confrontation that will be aired at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
The same candidates will appear live at 7 p.m. Sunday on Georgia Public Television debate sponsored by the Atlanta Press Club.

Wow its about time Saxby Chamblee started to fight back against the stupid Democrats.
There is no way a Dem will take the seat away from Chamblee. LOL, dream on stupid liberals!

Jesus-
Who’s Saxby Chamblee???? What does the story you’re commenting on have to do with Saxby at all? (Other than Vernon is vying to be his opponent.) Given how your comment makes absolutely no sense and there is no such person as Saxby Chamblee, I suggest refraining from calling other people stupid.

There ought to be an IQ test to pass before being admitted to a blog. Do you not have a clue that there is a difference between Chambliss (as in Saxby) and Chamblee (as in the municipality). Chamblee is located in DeKalb County and suffered from Vernon Jones’ malfeasance. Vernon Jones was too busy sticking his hand in the pockets of DeKalb County Voters, hiring his cronies at inflated salaries and generally using the tax basis as a private bank to pay any attention to the need to clean up a site which then became a prime site for crime. Chamblee is not the only area in DeKalb neglected by Vernon — virtually the entire county suffered from his administration or lack of it.
Saxby Chambliss is a horse of a different color altogether. He’s smarter than Vernon and realized early on that, as W’s little sock puppett, he could mouth the words W gave him and gain access to a much bigger pork barrell and take more money from the hard working constiutency back home without doing anything at all for them.
Why do we want another such in Washington? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is a definition of insanity. Smarten up, figure it out. Study the qualifications, examine the character, and attend to the quality and quantity of the organizations who endorse a candidate and decide that a young, successful, well educated businessman with a passion for th environment and a sense of obligation to the people of Georgia of all ages and ranks is a new direction for this state. Give us someone at the Primary who can go up against Saxby with clean hands and clean record and we can take back a Senate seat. Vernon Jones can’t do it. Rand Knight can do it.

How quickly we forget. The audacity of Saxby criticizing Vernon Jones over piece of property where an individual with a latino sirname was killed.
Saxby Chambliss was the chairman of the Congressional subcommittee for Immigration, Citizenship and Border security. As the Chairman he alone decided what legislation was allowed to come before his committee in route to the house floor. He was the primary archetect of the current illegal alien mess we are in today. He needs to look in the mirror over that murder.

Luv a duck, can you guys get a fix on the difference between Chamblee and Chambliss. The former is a municipality in DeKalb County and the latter is an idiot.
The story upon which you are supposed to express your comments in this blog is about Vernon Jordan, another idiot. Oh, yes, now I see the connection. Please continue.

Was the murder victim a Legal or ILLEGAL person? If ILLEGAL, then its further evidence he should NOT have been in the USA.
