Barr on the ballot
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Bob Barr is now officially a presidential candidate in Georgia.
The former Republican congressman, now Libertarian Party candidate for president, filed paperwork with the Secretary of State’s office on Thursday to add his name to the slate of candidates in November.
While the Libertarian Party gets automatic ballot access here, just like the Democrats and Republicans, the law requires an official statement of candidacy to be filed.
Barr completed that task surrounded by about two dozen supporters in Secretary Karen Handel’s office.
Barr did not have to do it in person, but given that it’s his home state, and a state where he could have the greatest impact, it makes sense.
And, by the way, in case you’re wondering: Barack Obama and John McCain have not yet filed the same paperwork, because they’re not officially their parties’ nominees yet. That won’t happen until after the conventions in August and September, respectively. Barr won the Libertarian nomination at his party’s convention in May.

I am so glad that we will have a candidate for President that will uphold the US Constitution. Bob Barr believes in small government and maximum individual liberty. It will be great to be able to vote for a candidate who would bring peace, prosperity and liberty to America.

How small is the government Barr believes in? Small enough to fit into my bedroom? How about my uterus? Does he support the liberty of WOMEN, or just men?

Dusty you haven’t the slightest idea what you are talking about. Any reasonable person who follows politics knows that a vote for Barr is a vote for Obama.

Go Barr! McCain should drop out of the race and make room for someone who understands the Constitution and the concept of liberty. The GOP has screwed themselves. If McCain losses it’s because he failed to motivate voters with his status quo vision for American. The GOP was concerned about their nominee long before Bob Barr qualified. Ron Reagan must be turning in his grave! So you want change? Keep your change in your pocket and vote Libertarian! I am…

Even though Bob “I’m not Black” Barr, swears he is White, Rev. Hosea Williams (along with all of the Black community) always claimed: “Barr’s features look Black enough to make us believe he has Black ancestry.”
Sooo…, in the best interest of historical hysteria, Let’s get together, demand a DNA test for Barr; and, if he is at least one thirty-second Black, history can record the first time two Black men are running for POTUS.

Do you think that Barr has some slave blood in him like Michelle. If so, we might not be able to belittle him.

I hope that Barr does well here in GA. We need a strong third party to keep the two main parties on their toes!
I hope to live long enough to see the day when a candidate’s race isn’t even worth a mention on a newspaper comment page…
