Obama to Atlanta?

Those rumors of a Georgia visit from Barack Obama are starting to gain traction as we’re hearing that July 7 trip to Atlanta is in the works.

Details are still sketchy, but we’re hearing that at this point it will primarily be a fund-raising visit.

The Obama campaign declined to say whether the rumored trip is for real.

We’ll have more as it becomes available.

NOTE TO AJC: When you refer to Barack, please call him “The next President of the United States, Barack Obama.” This is the correct way to describe him.

NOTE TO REDNECK REPUBLICANS: You inbred idiots better make sure your taxes are in order. When President Obama takes the oath, we are going to exorcise eight years of Hell on earth and we are going to start declaring you pigs to be “enemy combatants” and deporting you to Guanatanamo. We will listen to your phone calls, we will review your Internet use, and we will read your e-mails. You cockroaches are about to get a tenfold taste of the slime you have foisted on America, only this time we will limit the pain to Republicans. Every last one of you scumbags is going to be on a permanent “no fly” list. We are going to declare your children to be suspected terrorists and take them away from you. We are going to teach you the meaning of waterboarding. We are going to suspend your rights and show you how it feels to be tortured.

And when you finally renounce the failed conservative Republican ideology, we just might give you your nuts back - in a jar of formaldehyde.

PLEASE do not give the above comment any weight!!!

It is obviously an attempt, probably by a Republican, to stir the pot.

Don’t fall for this ruse!

He who knows the Future:

Um, no offense, but I don’t think you’re helping your case with your argument. Isn’t Obama’s message one of unity, not hatred? I know you probably meant it all as a joke, showing the republicans all the stupidity of the “Patriot [sic] Act” and other policies. But a lot of the “redneck republicans,” as you call them, probably will only be put off by your rant. What you meant to be saying is that Obama will never do any of that, because he’s better than that. But hatred is no way to express this, it only lowers you to the same fearmongering level as Karl Rove. It’s exactly this divisive attitude that causes all of the malcontent in this country, and exactly the thing Obama’s trying to rise above. So if you really support him, please tone down the hate.

DDDdddaaaaaaayyyyyyuumm, “He Who Knows.” Although you probably are a Republican plant, that was ICE COLD!! C’mon, folks, you have to say that was a well organized thought. Scary and a smite morbid, but organized, nonetheless. I hope Sen. Obama, the Next President of the United States (gotta be PC), will do a rally so the Georgia GOP can see how much he is supported. How long will Obama live? I hear everyday that he will not last 3 months as a President of the U.S. then again he best have a good vice president because he will be taking over when Obama is no longer with us, what do you think?

That 3 months comment is just wrong. If secret service protection is that bad then Bush would have been taken out years ago.

I think there’s a lot of scum out there who want to answer every situation they see as a “problem,” real or imagined, with violence.

We’ve seen how well that works as foreign policy. We’ll see if they get any traction with that sort of hateful idiocy when President Obama is sworn in.

I “think” you’re serious, and I’m inspired that a man with a wife and two kids is willing to risk all of their lives for a country with backward thinkers who are stuck in the racist and divisive ways on centuries gone by.

If he doesn’t make it three months (which I’m sure he will), his efforts will not have been in vain. Some people live 100 years and have nothing to show for it.

Well, if Obama does come to Atlanta, I hope conservatives here focus on important issues—like whether he wears an American flag pin on his lapel and how his name sounds like “Osama,” thereby making him a terrorist.

I am not an Obama supporter, but I used to be before I learned some more information. I really think this year the election is btwn the lesser of 2 evils. But in the fall when I told someone that I was an Obama supporter, they said “WHAT, he’s go to get assassinated if he does make it that far.” Obviously, some ppl aren’t past racism and refuse to get past it. I couldn’t believe that person. Like I said I am not an Obama supporter any longewr b/c of some facts that I learned of, but I will not be completely distraught if he makes it into office, but I just don’t get ppl like that who can make those sorts of remarks.

I am praying that this country will be saved not from Obama or McCain but from those career politicians in the congress. Some of them need to retire after 20 years at least!!! everyone else does at 20 yrs of service or 65 in age… give the new kid a chance to make our own decisions…!

wow, the ajc is darn near orgasmic at the idea of BO visiting the ATL. Then again, the AJC has never tried to hide it’s blatant left leaning before, why start now? I’m sure they’re just wanting to avoid appearing racist, and obviously neutrality = racism in this election year.

I AM giddy at the fact that he is coming BACK to atlanta maybe he can use the Ga /home depot/ Dome. i think the fact that Georgia is “in play” his visit here will not only help his standing in Georgia but also in South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and to some extent Louisanna because he will be in his element do his thing which is talking about hte issues and not wasting our time slandering the other guy.

it is sad when Obama is being painted as a liar for NOT taxing Taxpayer money to run for president of the United States ANY clear thinking person see what he is up against and knows what the Republicans are capable of we seen HOW they stole the election in FL and how they Swift boated a decorated war veteran in 2004.

So just imagine what they will do to an African American presidential candidate?

i plan on being where ever Obama lands in Georgia

You’re missing the point. Sen. Obama is coming to GA because the state is in play. The Repugnicans can no longer claim their stranglehold on Ga. voters and Blue is the color of our political future.

However, I would, for one, like to see him come after the Primary so he can work with our Senate and Congressional Candidates. The 6th already has an unopposed viable candidate to challenge Tom Priceless, or should that be Tom Pricey since he has cost Georgia tax payers a heck of a lot of money. Sen. Obama on the podium at a rally along side a challenger to Price, to Saxby Shameless and to any of the good ole boys who have a free ride for the last eight years, would be an eye opener and vote getter here is Ga.

Betty says come on down. The fried chicken and biscuits are ready.

Know something?  America ranks right up there with many third world countries like China, Pakistan, Lebanon, Sudan, etc. in the amount of political violence against its citizens and attempts on the lives of its Presidents since the beginnings of the 19th century.  Think of it — we have seen dogs used against peaceful demonstrators, the death of an opposition political leader, MLK, the killing of President JFK, attempts on the life of Harry Truman and Ronald Reagan, violent suppression of Suffragets including jail, there have been lynchings, violence against gays and lesbians, continued violence against women and children and now threats against Sen. Obama.Haven’t we got a lot to be proud of! It makes Old Betty Boop want to sit down and cry.  But, instead, Betty is gonna stand up and shout against it and vote against it.Betty Boop

In the middle of my televison show last night a white Obama appeared on my televison screen. There he was, black up until then, appearing with his white mother and white grandparents and all his white friends. There wasn’t a single person in the commercial that looked as if they’d ever been in the sun. Not only were the people in the ad white, they looked like sheets, the whitest people I have ever seen. Talk about change!!!! The man changed from black to white right before my eyes. Obama dude…you do know change. How did you do that? This man, if elected, will put us in the hole so far we’ll end up thinking thirty per interest rates on a credit card is a good deal. We’ll be paying fifteen bucks a gallon for gas, if and when we can find it. Most of Obama’s supporters are young, too young to recall the nightmare Carter years. Carter wants Obama to be elected to make the senile old pooot Carter not look so bad. Change..change..change…I had no idea change meant to be able to be so dynamic you can actuially change races. Amazing!

Big deal. Another black dude in Atl. Who cares? We don’t need any more. We have no need to rely on foreign sources of black dudes. Georgia has a bumper crop of black dudes every year. He should go to Montanna.

Obama will take the same areas of Georgia in the popular vote that Al Sharpton, Jesse Jacskon or Cynthia McKinney would take if they ran for anything. He will take SW DeKalb, Clayton County, the ghetto’s of Atlanta and Lilburn. Any black would take these areas. Outside of the ghetto, errr Atlanta…..he will be stomped by McCain. Who Cares, I saw the ad too. Where did he find so many totally white people? There’s more white people in the new Obama ads than they are at a KKK rally. I can find more blacks at a KKK rally than I can in the new butt-kissing, pandering, NOT about change, pimp me out Obama ads. Now they’re busy getting that rattlesnake wife of his to shed her skin and make her look human. Good luck on that piece.

Hey “He who knows the Future”: Gosh darn, you must be from Clayton County! That’s just how those in charge in Clayton County speak! A prime example of what this country will be like if Obama gets elected …exactly what “change” got Clayton County! God help us all!

Vote McCain! Don’t let America turn into Clayton County!

I also wander are you all affraid that Obama might be the best president that America has ever known along side Kennedy. (for every party)Get off the man nuts if you don’t like him then don’t vote for him. Its just that simple. All this blurber is non sense! (fist pound in honor of Michelle Obama)

To poster (Behind every strong black man… woman) - thank you. You represent exactly what is wrong with government schools if you did actually receive a high school diploma. I really think they should institute a minimum IQ score to acheive before you are allowed to have a vote. It would keep out morons like this stupid woman from voting and help give her more time asking for her weekly food stamps.
