Martin up with first ad
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Former state legislator Jim Martin has become the first Democratic U.S. Senate candidate in Georgia to put a campaign ad on statewide TV.
The 33-second ad, entitled “Honor,” began running on TV statewide Tuesday morning, said Martin campaign spokesman Ellery Gould.
The ad touts Martin’s time as a serviceman in Vietnam and his fight against mortgage foreclosures during part of his time as an 18-year veteran of the state Legislature. The ad concludes with Martin stating: “It’s time someone stood up for the middle class again.”
Martin, the best-funded of the Democratic field is running against former WSB-TV reporter Dale Cardwell, Atlanta businessman Rand Knight, retired businessman Josh Lanier of Statesboro and DeKalb CEO Vernon Jones.
Here’s the ad:

He is the first and will be the only candidate with television ads. The rest of that bunch are losers!

The rest of the bunch just aren’t taking PAC money like him and being supported by Washington insiders.
Martin is a joke who can’t even get the AFL-CIO endorsement.

What african american is making decisions in JM’s campaign? Obviously, none. AA’s are important to any dem race. if he hasn’t figured that out—it’s too late. tv ads won’t get him elected.

JP, grow up. If you knew anything of pluralism you would not open your mouth about that subject. It is because of people like you that Democrats keep losing. You would rather win an argument (and you can never win this one) than win an election.
Dotell, yes…television campaign ads will get him elected. Does a candidate need to be black to get the black vote nowadays? Just because Vernon is going to get stomped does not mean that blacks will be disenfranchised. People, especially candidates, like Vernon only set African Americans back. Good luck finding african american outside of atlanta that even know that Vernon is black…or care. chances are, if you know vernon outside of atlanta it is because of his criminal exposure, not because he is a philanthropist or even a decent human being.

What has Jim Martin done in politics but get his butt KICKED IN THE PAST ELECTION & ALSO protecting child molestors as DHR COMMISSIONER! When are we going to grow up & not be afraid of supporting someone like VERNON who has a proven record of being a STRONG PUBLIC SERVANT!!!
PEOPLE ARE ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINIONS BUT THEY ARE NOT ENTITLED TO THE FACTS!
ITS OVBVIOUS THAT JIM GALLOWAY & THE DEMOCRACTIC PARTY ARE AFRAID OF REAL LEADERSHIP!!!!

So martin has a record? A veteran, a stateman, an executive administrator.
What about Vernon? His approval of developing neighborhoods in flood plains? (yeah, those families could not get flood insurance and lost their homes without reprieve) Or threatening women with firearms? Or putting his home up as collateral for Ron Sailor’s loan? Or his multiple charges for assault and battery? What about his drug use and promiscuous homosexual relationships?
You want to discuss the facts, Craig. All of this will be brought out against Vernon by Saxby’s campaign. They have the money to make certain every voter knows, and worse than that…Vernon can not rebut. Vernon is going to go down as one of GA’s most corrupt politicians. On top of that…he will destroy any chance of picking up new congressional seats. Martin will atleast be neutral and not hurt people’s chances.

Does Jim Martin really want to give Hattie Dorsey a prominent spot in his advertising vouching for his character after she so zealously defended her cousin, Sidney Dorsey, who is now in jail related to the murder of Sheriff Brown? A tipster reminds me she led a prayer vigil for Dorsey at Brown’s memorial.
I guess Jim is trying to symbolically say his campaign is dead or about to be murdered by the Vernon Jones Machine. Hey Jim keep dishes those checks out to Maceio, Hattie Dorsey and the rest of the old guard that supported Hillary.
The only way Vernon Jones looses to Jim Martin is that you carpet bomb every black voters home in Georgia.
I’m a Georgia Black Voter and I approved this message for the July 15th primary
