Backers hope Barr is the bomb

Get ready for a Barr Bomb.

No, you don’t need to stock up on emergency supplies. But, if you want to support Libertarian Party presidential nominee Bob Barr, the former Georgia congressman hopes you’ll have a blast (sorry.)

The Barr Bomb is an idea borrowed from the Republican presidential campaign of Ron Paul, a hero to many Libertarians, and from whom Barr hopes to siphon votes and cash.

Paul’s backers helped the Texas congressman raise millions in a single day with “Ron Paul Money Bomb.” The idea is harness the power of the Internet, which Paul’s supporters are exceptionally adept at, and raise tons of money online in a single day. The goal is two-fold: raise cash and raise awareness by making a splash (or a blast, in this case) with a big number.

The Barr Bomb is scheduled for July 2 and pledges are being accepted now at BarrBomb.com.

Until Ron Paul tells his supporters to put their efforts behind Bob Barr your “Barr Bombs” are going to fizzle out. It sucks but one of the best opportunities for a 3rd party candidate is going to be wasted because Ron Paul’s voters aren’t going to the same well.

Bob Barr is a bomb. No integrity, principles that change like the wind.

Good point, Jason. What’s Ron Paul’s disagreement with Barr—his Clintonian history, which Barr claims to have put behind him? Some remnant of loyalty to the Republican Party, which opposes everything Paul stands for?

I’d like to see those two in a debate. At least there’d be a chance of addressing actual issues, rather than the silly character sniping and “gotcha” games that the mass media promotes.

I just signed up to donate $300 to the Barr campaign on the 2nd. Consider it money well spent/deserved. Not quite Ron Paul but Barr is the best we have got.

Bob Barr is already adept at raising money from senior citizens on fixed income. He’s already got a shell game of a PAC. See previous AJC article on his scam “It costs money to raise money”: http://www.ajc.com/search/content/news/stories/2008/05/19/barrpac_0518.html

Barr and his bush league, money grubbing operation can’t even hold a candle to the sincerity of Ron Paul’s organization.

Copyleft: Paul has two problems with endorsing Barr. One is the Republicans; he could lose his committee seats in Congress, and even have his nomination revoked. The other is that he has two supporters running: Barr for the Libertarians, and Chuck Baldwin for the Constitutional Party. He’s doing what he can, going around saying nice things about them in the media, letting them rent his f/r list, stuff like that.

Just kidding. Barr is a bomb alright. A real stink bomb. A vote for Barr is a vote for Obama. Nice try name hijacker. Ru Paul is an obsolete boob. Barr is even less important. That said, I will miss Ru Paul stammering and stuttering on TV. I will miss his wrinkled mug. I will miss the abject impotence of his certifiable supporters. I will miss the monthly exploits of Ru Paul and his magic blimp. I will miss, slightly less, making fun of Ru Paul and his ilk.

Lucky me!! My idiot neighbor, the Ru Paul supporter and personal car fire-bomber by accident, remains. By the way, his is still convinced that the Ru Paul delegates at the Republican convention will, and I quote the Idiot, “Give their votes to Obama to teach McCain a lesson.” I have mentioned that that is impossible, for Obama’s convention will be held before ours, and that Republicans and Democrats hold separate conventions. Alas, he thinks I am lying to him. Very well, the longer he thinks that way, the longer I can laugh at him. Peace.

Atlanta; Is slavery coming back to you? Sherry Peel Jackson has been enslaved by the unlawful charges of IRS Mafia Judges in Atlanta. The former fraud investigator says the IRS is the biggest fraud she has ever investigated. Can you expedite her release? Her kids and husband need her home. No more political prisoners please. I’ll be there on July 2nd.

Ron Paul was kind of cool with his money bomb’s, but he wasn’t building anything that was going to last. It is about as sensible to build something around this characters as it was around Ross Perot.

The ideas behind liberty, are timeless, and require, as Thomas Jefferson said, eternal vigilance.

Today’s standard bearer is Bob Barr. He’s actually the best candidate the LP has had in a long while, even better than, well 1988’s candidate, Ron Paul.

I’m donating on July 2nd, but its not about Barr, quite frankly, its about building the foundation, the lp party…I’d like to see 3, maybe 4 or 5 parties, vying for each election.

voting for Barr is voting for Barr. If Obama wins, or McCain wins, I could care less. Obama and McCain are two peas in a pod, big government lovers with big government answers.

You see the republicans running around, believing that Libertarians, who they simultaneously insult and despise, are somehow also closet Republicans.

guess what: NO. Not really. Don’t care which crap bag wins, quite frankly. I’m voting for the best candidate, with full faith and confidence that even if he doesn’t win, stronger and stronger performances by 3rd parties, will cause the major parties to rethink some of their strategies.
