Austin Scott staying in the House
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Rep. Austin Scott’s name popped up as a potential state Senate candidate when one of Gov. Sonny Perdue’s floor leaders, Sen. Joseph Carter (R-Tifton) signed up to run for a superior court judgeship on Monday.
Turns out Scott (R-Tifton), is staying right where he is.
Scott, who has been in the General Assembly since 1997, contacted Political Insider to say he’s going to run for re-election to the House.
Scott, chairman of the House Governmental Affairs Committee, faces two Democratic challengers in his bid for another term.

Former State Representative Ray Holland is the right man for our area if we can talk him into it. He did a great job in the House and would do so in the Senate. Could walk right in and start to work for us on day one because he already knows the ropes and the folks in Atlanta.

REp. Scott distinguished himself in the Gov’t Affairs Cmte and should be re-elected. Tifton is lucky to have a representative that is polished, courageous in the line-of-fire, and maintains his values.
Re-Elect Rep. Scott, he is a proven leader!

Poor ole Chicken Hips — He has lost a spot in the Senate and likely will lose one in the house — One by one the Chicken Littles are going down. The sky is falling on Repugnicans! Whoopee.
