Knight picks up endorsement

The Georgia Association of Educators on Monday endorsed Democrat Rand Knight for the U.S. Senate.

Knight is running against DeKalb CEO Vernon Jones, former Democratic lawmaker Jim Martin, former television report Dale Cardwell and retired businessman Josh Lanier for the Democatic nomination to take on Republican U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Libertarian Allen Buckley in November.

The Board of Directors of the GAE approved the recommendation, passed by the GAE Fund for Public Education Committee, to endorse Rand Knight for U.S. Senate, and has recommended Knight’s candidacy to the National Education Associations’ Fund for Children and Public Education.

“The recommendation was based on (Knight’s) commitment to strengthen public education for 1.6 million Georgia children by opposing private school vouchers and tuition subsidies; improve the Elementary and Secondary Education Act; prepare students for jobs of tomorrow; protect and strengthen Social Security; reduce the cost of health care and improve access; and respect the rights of school employees as full participants in educational improvement efforts,” Jeff Hubbard, President of the GAE, said in a prepared statement.

Knight, an Atlanta businessman, was previously endorsed by the state AFL-CIO.

“I am, of course, both flattered and humbled by the show of confidence from the GAE,” Knight said. “When I get to D.C., I’m going to fight to bring the changes necessary to improve our public education system.”

Here’s a quote from a campaign post, “… he attended The Westminster Schools in Atlanta from kindergarten through graduation”. What does a privately educated rich boy know about public education? I wonder where his children will attend school? Something smells here.

RE: Westminster schools…I see the post you refer to and it also very clearly states that he attended through financial aid and scholarships. Not sure what the problem with that is…

He’s made his genealogy part of his qualification for high office:

His roots in Georgia go back more than fifteen generations on his father’s side, and his mother’s family can be traced all the way back to the Jamestown settlement in Virginia.”

Post the Genweb or Ancestry.com link and prove it for all to see.

At a lightweight, unfledged 36, married to a Roman Catholic?, endorsed by the Mob, I smell a rat.

Cardwell, with a real track record, quit a good job to run for the Senate for Georgia.

“Rand” Knight, with union/Mafia connections, is looking for “work.”

Obama/Cardwell for Georgia, ‘08.

I know Rand and I know that his heart is in the right place. All this chatter about him not being experienced is nonsense. Experience has given us some of the worst presidents and politicians.

Rand is our best Chance to turn around Washington, that I am sure.

I’ve never met Dale Cardwell but by reputation.

He endorsed Obama early and has a work record, against the corruption we all know is a cancer on Our Land, of integrity.

An Army Veteran, I’ve been here practicing my craft and raising my family more than thirty years and am a known entity happy to meet any American on the street to share, and backup, my views.

Is this you, “Matt Combest,” Rand Knight supporter? Local gay voters split on Super Tuesday

I’m for Obama as the only good choice now for America.

Cardwell jumped early and righteously on the Obama bandwagon, and has a good name established in Georgia for what we need in Washington to help President Obama.

Just how well do you know “Rand” Knight, and how?

Will Jones- How does jumping on the bandwagon of a presidential candidate qualify one to be senator?

Ella It shows he has good sense in this particular case…like “transitivity.”

Obama isn’t perfect but he is well-graced and presidential…just what we need as a start against the treason now destroying Our Country.

Cardwell has worked in the world as an investigative journalist willing to bring down corrupt public officials. He is Of the People and has demonstrated the idealism we now must wield against this evil faction and its “farm team” of draft-dodgers and hypocrites around America like Chambliss.

How long has Knight been around Georgia, lately, to deserve even a second glance by Georgians so long abused by the open perversion now in power?

His “backing” is tainted. What else does he have to show for himself here?

He is a kid with the money to get a PhD and put up a website and qualifying fee.

If he were coming out for Obama and telling the truth on Bush/Cheney’s treason we all know they committed it would be another story.

As it is he seems like a corruptly connected opportunist…a callow “empty suit.”

Study his video, look at his resume…doesn’t ring true or righteous to me.

Cardwell seems like an energetic honest person, willing to earn the paycheck and be grateful as a servant of Georgia.

Public servants is what we need. I’m voting for Obama, Cardwell, and Mabel Thomas in the Fifth.

Obama’s the key. We’ll be very lucky if the Bush Anti-Christ doesn’t assassinate him as they did Kennedy and King.

I just saw a Jim Martin ad this morning and it’s pretty damn good. Not much to critique on there. I wonder if any of the other candidates have enough money to get up on TV….somehow I doubt it. Youtube isn’t included btw. Dale the truth. Hahhahahaaaa what a joke.
