Barr: Celebrate tonight, work tomorrow

Denver - Newly crowned Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr told his fellow Libertarians to celebrate now, “because I’m sure we’ll all leave here with the strongest ticket in the history of the Libertarian Party.”

Barr spoke to the convention as its new nominee, after knocking off Mary Ruwart after six rounds of voting.

“Then I want everybody to remember we have only 163 days to win this election,” he said. “Do not wait one single day.”

Nice job Libertarians.

The process of selecting your candidate was exciting, energizing…and laden with an uncommon “existential optimism”

Barr is just a distraction put up by the Insiders to keep the real conservative Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution party from gaining the libertarian votes.

How liberating it will be to vote for a conservative this year, for the first time ‘96. With the GOP no longer the party for the fiscal conservative, Bob Barr has my vote!

Besides Barr. We do not have a candidate in this race except for Barr. If McCain wins he’s abandoning all conservative principles that he as recently and conveniently picked up. McCain is going to run the country like a Democrat. In 2012 he’ll be the Republican nominee again and this time the Dems will vote for him. A vote for McCain guarantees 8 years of a Democratic President. He is a Liberal. My vote is for Barr.

Patriot’s fight for what they believe in! If you believe in McCain, vote for him, if you don’t, do not. That’s Patriotism.

The reason Barr is running is that he is a pawn for the son of Lucifer, Barack Obama. If you people don’t see that Obama is the anti-christ then I guess you are blind. I guess we have these earthquakes in China and Tidal Waves in Burma each year. Just wait til the anti-christ himself, Obama, takes power. Thanks a lot, Barr, you piece of ….

Clintons, Bushes, Obama, McCain, now Barr. None of them inspire me, mostly they scare me. Where are the politicians who instilled faith in America, who had a vision for the future and uplifted the American people? For me they died with Bobby Kennedy. When will another Bobby come along?

Ah, yes, Bob Barr. The god-fearing family values guy who was filmed eating cake off the stripper’s breasts a few years ago. Remember? Was it cake? or some other precariously balanced food item? Jim - the real patriots are those Americans that are unwilling to vote for the “lesser of the two evils.” I can guarantee you Barr’s nomination did not ensure a democratic victory in November, McCain’s lock for the GOP nomination did that. Conservative Republicans simply won’t vote for McCain, we’ll go with the true conservative in the race: Bob Barr.

Barr…dumb and dumber. More waste of money on advertising dollars and another ridiculous distraction to doing what is best for the country. He has always been a waste of time and energy and always will. He and Obama will be totally blown away by McCain. Barr and Obama have absolutely no chance. They are nothing but a media circus.

Good. This will siphon off some of the right-wing, anti-tax, anti-government, gun totting nutballs from McCain. Like Nader gave Bush FL, maybe Barr will give Obama GA. Bob ‘Impeachment’ Barr was the sole source behind the biggest abuse of impeachment ever. Yet, he has no outcry over Bush’s abuse of office and Bush’s outright lies about the reckless and unnecessary Iraq war. Poetic justice if you ask me.

When you vote Rethuglicon, you vote against your own best interests. And the political hacks elected by GA voters are living proof.

Barr is an arrogant, pompous hypocrite pure and simple… McCain has proved his patriotism and endured more hardship that any of us could ever imagine…Obama and Michele the US hater, have had the silver spoon in an age of reverse discrimination and somehow they are the heirs to the future of this country…

Glenn @ 11:14 PM stupidly said: GaLiberal - People like you are what is wrong with this nation. Liberalism is not the answer to our problems, rather, it is the root of all of our problems.

Well, Glenn, I guess you’ve forgotten that ‘liberalism’ has provided you with the soft lifestyle that allows you the time and energy to write such blatantly ignorant posts. You see, Glenn, ‘liberalism’ is another word for ‘progressive’ while ‘conservative’ is another word for ‘regressive’ or ‘oppressive.’ Throughout history it is the progressives that have elevated societies and had to battle the backward, ignorance people like you Glenn that only want to hold everyone back. Why is that Glenn? I’d be willing to bet that Do you benefit in some way by making sure people are oppressed. Like a dictator.

This is typical of Rethuglicons and the bobble-heads that spew their self-righteous and elitist hypocrisy. It’s good to oppress people and anyone who doesn’t go along is labeled a ‘liberal.’ Or a socialist or a Commie or unpatriotic. Of course their oppressive rules and laws doesn’t apply the them; the haves and the have mores. Just everyone else.

America is in deep trouble. The LP’s putting up another Vietnam draft-dodger tool of corrupt money - Russell Verney/Ross Perot - who has amply demonstrated his lack of wisdom - Clinton impeachment leading to Gore failure/Bush 9-11 treason/Patriot Act proven disconnect/violation of The Constitution - is not part of the solution.

McCain, whose near “anchorman” status brains had him incompetently throw away his jet to a SAM over NVN, betray his faithful wife and marry the Mob, is a walking corpse wishing to follow Bush’s treasonous policies.

Barack Obama is a former Constitutional Law professor who was intelligent and courageous enough to speak out against Bush’s transparent WMD-lies built on 9-11-treason invasion, and demonstrates, through his bearing, grace and rhetoric, the humility The People should expect in a public servant, born of the spiritual consciousness of true Americanism.

E Pluribus Unum: all Americans from “all nations of the world,” by Annuit Coeptis: by Which all good is ever and was ever delivered unto the world by Our Truth and Justice Nation; as The New Secular Order: Novus Ordo Seclorem.

Obama sings The Song of America for righteous rich, humble poor, but most importantly for the eighty percent Middle Class/Yeoman Artisanry that defines The People…and will restore equity through judgment against those whose corruption diminishes us all.

Bush’s 9-11 and false war treason must be arrested. Obama/Webb is the only ticket getting us any traction in that direction.

All else is dross…including Perot/CIA “Pistol-popping” Vietnam draft-dodger, no-man Bob Barr.

Which wife was it he forced to get an abortion?

America’s Whig utopian ideals must be restored. Obama’s the man to show us how.

Death for treason.

I was a graduate student of Bob Barr’s in his “Privacy and Public Policy Class” at KSU. While I won’t vote for him and I don’t approve all of his political and personal actions I respect him. He was always very down to Earth and respectful of what we had to say. I think he is very sincere and knowledgible about civil liberties and he will bring a lot to this race. I’m a staunch Democrat and Obama supporter, so I might not be the best person to say this, but the Republican Party is so far from classic conservatism it isn’t even funny. The GA GOP and to some extent nationally is really just the white christian fundamentalist, nativist party. Republicans especially in Georgia don’t allow there own to question the Iraq War or the recent assault on civil liberties without labeling them a terrorist sympathizer. I can see why intelligent, objective and sincere conservatives in the Atlanta suburbs are open to voting for Bob Barr. I understand why some affluent suburbanites don’t vote Democrat, but I can see how they would be equally repulsed by Sonny Perdufus conservatism and Dumya conservatism. Actually, to call their policies conservative is an insult to true conservatives. If you’re willing to vote for Barr I don’t see how you can consider voting for McCain. I wish Congressman Barr only the best in his run for the Presidency.

To those who think voting for Barr over McCain is ‘patriotic’, let’s show you the future of Obama. Obama sets up the courts with the most liberal judges thanks to a supermajority Democratic Congress. To the braindead, this means 25 years worth of court decisions at all levels affected by liberal policies. Banking on a conservative to beat Obama or win in 2016 still guarantees a long term effect on issues like guns, civil liberties, abortion, etc. Obama also makes this country weaker to our enemies. Another 9/11 type attack happens because Obama wants a Chamberlain type foreign policy. Americans die because of it. Immigration issue is unresolved and still becomes a security and entitlement problem. We get national healthcare. Taxes are raised. Gas prices continue to go up, which enables the economy to continue downward.

I can go on and on. But please tell me how sending your country down the tubes and ensuring a liberal hold on this nation for 25+ years will be patriotic. I’m curious how causing higher taxes and potential deaths of Americans because of weak foreign policies is patriotic. How is aiding corporations to continue to go overseas and us losing more jobs patriotic? How is ensuring more regulation and a major loss of civil liberties patriotic? If anything, your “patrotic” attitude is reminiscent of Hitler in his bunker around April 1945. So by all means, vote for Obama - er, I mean Barr and make sure you send this country straight to Hades. I know you want to prove a point. But please don’t make the rest of the country pay dearly and in many ways just because you want to be “patriotic”.

Craig, your “fear” tactics are a joke! Some people believe in voting on issues like freedom and civil liberties rather then the always popular “lesser of two evils” course.

Perot is a dishonest manipulator of the People who got what he deserved. Barr is his front, just as the Bushes have been Rockefeller fronts for five generations.

That’s why Prescott “got away” with funding Hitler and Holocaust;

Why George H.W. “got away” with killing Kennedy and King, and NAFTA;

and,

Why George W. “got away” with committing 9-11 to send us to false war.

To those who aren’t committed operatives of the homosexual draft-dodgers who committed 9-11: Read Professor David Ray Griffin’s scholarly work. You will be convinced beyond a doubt, with absolute moral certainty, that Bush and Cheney committed the treason of 9-11.

“Craig” and others who say otherwise need to look into whatever passes for a soul they have and give-up American citizenship or read the truth and know the facts of Bush/GOP treachery that is a cancer on Our Land.

America must be Free. We cannot be Free and unrighteous.

To any real conservatives out there, Bob Barr is the closest thing running with anything close to a national appeal. To those people who will vote for anyone with an (R) after their name, ask yourself what McCain really brings to the table outside of endless wars. He will not reduce taxes, he will not reduce spending, and he will infringe on your freedoms (think 1984.) When the most compelling argument for McCain is the “he’s not Obama” that should sum it up right there. You are the same fools who would be supporting Hillary for the same reasons if she had an (R) after her name. Well, she’s not Obama, right?

Any true conservative knows that McCain is not one and it is treasonous to vote for him as the lesser of two evils.

By Craig

May 27, 2008 2:40 PM | Link to this

Sorry, Tom. I’m not sure a place you seem to know all too well is worth my time. You seem to know more about that area. You take care of it for me.

Eric, you seem to be an expert on what McCain will do. Perhaps you’d rather Obama do far worse than your “vision” of McCain. Any true conservative does not willingly hand over the country to the fringe left. It’s ironic that the same concept people like you are fighting against, wars, conflicts, immigration, taxes, civil liberties, etc, are what you’re actually HELPING to get in office. So by spiting McCain and what he MAY do, you are actually defeating your own plan by ensuring we do have higher taxes, more conflicts, good ol’ national healthcare, eroding civil liberties, etc.

Be honest with yourself. Since you are helping liberals to control all three branches of government by voting for Barr, just be honest and truthful by voting for what you’re aiding to happen…vote for Obama. No point in trying to justify what you help to put in office.

By Eric

May 27, 2008 2:57 PM | Link to this

Craig, thank you for your assessment. Now, for you to be honest you need to admit that you would be defending Hillary as steadfastly as you’re defending McCain if she was up against Obama and was the Republican nominee.

Be consistent and admit this. You will support anyone with an (R) after their name, no matter how liberal. Also, how is McCain’s performance some kind of guess (you called it a “vision”) but you magically know how Obama will do? You may be referring to McCain compaigning as someone he would not even recognize who is all of a sudden going back to his old self and trying to outgreen Al Gore.

By Eric

May 27, 2008 3:10 PM | Link to this

Craig, one more thing…aren’t you the one helping to elect liberals to office by voting for one?? You’re voting for the center left instead of the fringe left and then trying to justify after the fact.

McCain: in favor of illegal immigration in favor of freedom intrusions in favor of endless wars/”peacekeeping missions” in favor of prescription drug entitlements in favor of the dept of education and other illegal, bloated bureaucracies opposed to tax cuts opposed to spending cuts no real intention of ending abortion, the real terrorism of our era

Yes, this is exactly the kind of guy I and other true conservatives would like to have in office.
