Denver — Earlier we mentioned Russ Verney, who’s managing Bob Barr’s bid for the Libertarian nomination. Verney says that Barr’s top competition to win the party’s nod on Sunday are former Democratic U.S. Sen. Mike Gravel of Alaska, Vegas odds maker Wayne Allyn Root and veteran Libertarian activist Mary Ruwart of Texas.
Gravel figures “that sounds about right.”
“I’m not sure if he’s our competition, or if we’re his,” Gravel said, from the exhibition hall of the 2008 Libertarian National Convention.
Gravel and Barr have a few things in common. They both are relatively new to the Libertarian Party. Barr joined in 2006 after serving as a Republican congressman for four terms. Gravel joined the party just this year after ending a long-shot bid for the Democratic nomination.
Gravel, like Verney, isn’t sure where the race stands at this point; who’s ahead and who’s trailing. He knows Barr came in with strong support and believes it will come down to multiple ballots on Sunday.
“We go into balloting and our voting starts, people will do their shifting,” Gravel said. “I don’t know. I don’t want to predict.”

If the LP nominates Gravel or Barr, rather than a voice from its ranks, it will prove its group culture is completely bankrupt.

I have changed my name from Churchill to ChurchDill. If I can change Ron Paul to Ru Paul, then I should be able to change my own name as well. So, just refer to me, Churchill, as ChurchDill from now on. Thank you for your consideration.

You have to wonder who the fool is that will soon be parted with his money by donating to Barr’s campaign. Who would do that except a pirate and a ne’er do well or a corrupt jackass using taxpayer’s money? Our country is so corrupt, that we make the Chinese look like the 1.2 billion apostles. Bob Barr running for president must signal the end of the world, doesn’t it? Someone google the seventh seal or the seventh son of the seventh son or…hey! that reminds me. why cant anyone figure out what 666 means? Dont you hate that? “the beast can be fingered if a wise man can deduce his identity by figuring out what 666 means…..”
the bible is full of nonsense like that. it’s upsetting. And our world is at war and people pray for themselves and 911 changed everything and our prez talks to god and listens to foreign policy advice
