House speaker’s chief of staff makes a move to Athens
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
This one’s no shocker, but House Speaker Glenn Richardson just announced that Chris Cummiskey, his chief of staff, is leaving to become the University of Georgia’s liaison with the state Capitol.
Cummisky will have served 18 months — and two very rough sessions — as Richardson’s top aide. That’s close to two decades in political years. Prior to that, he served as U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson’s state director.
No mention of a replacement yet.

Chris is first class and did a phenomenal job for the Speaker, House and State. He will be missed in that role. Its a great pick up for UGA.

I hear the chief of staff in Alabama is looking at UGA and could probably start as a freshman he runs a 4.3 40 can recite the preamble and would run thru a wall for Christ. He’s also looking at UF and LSU.

Only a typical UGA fan would hijack a thread on politics and turn it into a football discussion. Move on Dawg fans. You’ll be disappointed as usual. Maybe the Speaker will launch an investigation into why last year’s overwhelmingly superior multiple loss team was denied a shot at the national title. Yawn…
