Warming up the leftovers: Jane Kidd on Vernon Jones, and Max Cleland says he’s staying out of presidential politics
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
With qualifying over this afternoon, state Democratic party chairman Jane Kidd had this to say about Vernon Jones, who — after formally joining the U.S. Senate race — dismissed party activists as “losers.”
To put Jones’ words in context, the DeKalb County CEO was asked by reporters about the efforts made to lure Atlanta attorney Jim Martin into the race.
Still, Kidd had this to say:
“Vernon admits that he has voted for President Bush for the last two times, so I do question his loyalty to the Democratic party. But he did qualify on the Democratic ticket, and we’ll just see how he does.”
On another topic, there’s a blog out there predicting that former U.S. senator Max Cleland is about to endorse Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
I just got off the phone with Cleland, who is in San Diego, campaigning for a pair of vets running for Congress. Cleland said it ain’t so — he’s staying out of presidential politics this year.
However, he did get a chuckle out of Josh Lanier’s YouTube clip.

You know, I recall years ago when a Marine Lt. Col. stating to his Troops in a safety stand-down that every one has bias or prejudice(s). At the time, I thought he was a Racist. I was wrong, he was an American. It is sad to see a Former Marine (Dark Green & A Minister) not use tack with his current comments while representing God & His Country (USA) that has caused damage to a Non-Combat Trained Citizen with a different name. Yet, this Democratic Candidate (Obama) is very much American too & struggled in life to make something of himself like me or even you. It is also sad, if the American People in the next Primaries or State Elections (IN, NC, Oregon) does not perform research about all the candidates under the “R”, the “D” or the “I” and rely on the media to make a choice. Ignorance is Bliss, but Knowledge is even better.

Yes, sir, Knowlege is better, but what voters will weigh in november about obama is more instinctual: is it finally time for citizen nullification of the old regime of race carding, swiftboating, and perpetuation racism, classism, and elitism. I think we’re in for quantum change. First, before we take one step forward, we have to resolve the racial sins of this country. Until we do, we’ll have to listen to outrageous characters like Rev. Wright. Black history would give birth to outrageous cries from impossible people. But I’m not offended. I’ve heard the government aids story for twenty five years. It’s just lore, lore that is born from the vestiges of starry nights in slavery around the campfire telling tales of white folk conspiracies to keep black folk enslaved. Massah. I’m sure those fanciful tales were outrageous true. Read the Dred Scott decision. No wonder Rev. Wright is the way he is.
Well I’m sick to death of the vestiges of slavery that confound and corrupt our social and legal contracts.
We as a nation must address the old wounds, and destroy the modern conservative infections that shackle the once bright future all americans could have shared. But JFK, MLK, and RFK were DOA, and with them went our justice. Well, maybe what Robert Kennedy said enables us all to act now. He said that it’s wrong to think that one man cant make a difference. Individually we can change the course of this country toward a more equitable allocation of justice. Anyone not willing to fight for that isn’t an america patriot. If racism isn’t unpatriotic, then what good are patriots?
We’ve been had, people.
know it. live it. believe it. How sick does it make you to see Cheney’s fat face stumble over why he got deferred from military service when he was a young man. Yet this man would manage our war in Iraq? NO wonder this dime store napolean has ruined any chance we had to bring justice to Iraq for the Iraqi people. Cheney’s been selling Iraqis out since mission accomplished. I dont expect you to understand what that means, but know that forces alien to kurds and sunnis and shia are about to have a free for all in the allocation of resources that belong to the Iraqis. Cheney sold those resources to: they. who are they? who are they?
WHO ARE THEY.

Will you guys riot in Denver when Hillary tries to steal the nomination from Obama? Ward Churchill’s buddy has a web site that suggest ya’ll riot over the War (Recreate68.org), to punish the Democrat leadership in congress that promised to stop the war 2006? I also heard that Rosanne Barr is planning to organize riots in Denver. I think she said that she will pay the bus fare poor crazies to make it out there. Just wondering? Peace.

Libs hate Limbaugh because he is effective, and all of their lib radio hosts are lousy and have only 10 listeners. Still ya’ll have not answered my question. Will you guys have riot or not. We conservatives do not riot and raise hell at our conventions, and I wasn’t alive in 68 so I would really like to see the Democrat party tear itself apart. I think it would be instructive for the rest of the country, to boot. Peace.

Hey Church, a group of FL Demoracts rallied in DC this week threatening to shut the convention in Denver down, before it starts. I think that 08 will be worse than 68. I don’t know if you know this, but Democrats always lose general elections after conventions where they rioted.

Churchilll and bitterclinger your cut from the same cloth as eric rudolph, so warped by your ideology that you wish harm to fellow Americans. I find it sad and disturbing that you resort to cheering for violence and damage to promote your politics. Whatever happened to respectful debate? Demand more of yourselves, try having a respectful intelligent discussion of the issues. I am rooting for you. Peace, love, and understanding is the golden rule-not hoping for riots based upon philosophical differences.

You tell them Sweet Jane! Just because we like to protest at fallen soldiers’ funerals, blame Bush for everything from Global Warming to tooth decay, block anything that would help us become more energy independent now (new refineries, drilling in ANWAR, nuclear power plants, etc.) doesn’t make us warped or disturbed. We’re just better people than you.

TLWN, enlightenment means to lighten up. You need a hug, let your anger dissipate and you will turn on your love light. You perceive your reality as a us vs. them battle, you are fighting your own shadow. Please seek help, I am rooting for you, its not to late to let go of the hate that rules your heart. Good luck.

TLWN, the Westboro Baptist Church that protests at soldier’s funerals also protests at funerals for gays (Matthew Shepherd) they are an extension of the christian fundamentalists who have hi-jacked the republican party and delivered the genius of your born-again idol Bush. They believe God is punishing the soldier to take revenge on America for granting a woman the right to a abortion. Nothing screams right-wing more then a group thats perverts religion into hate, twisted sick logic-this group is definitely your cup of tea. However, it is not to late for you-open up your heart and turn on your love light. If Bush can see Putin’s soul you can find yours. Good luck and Godspeed.

Yeah, nothing screams right-wing more than a group that perverts reigion into hate. Just like Rev. Wright. Rev. Wright, and his followers, are neocons-in-hiding. Rev. Wright is trying to destroy Obama. Gee,I hate those right-wingers.
