Video alert: Bob Barr announces his exploratory bid for president on YouTube
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Former Georgia congressman Bob Barr has put up a YouTube video announcing his formation of an exploratory committee to determine if he should run for president as a Libertarian.
Barr calls Barack Obama an “empty suit.” As for Hillary Clinton, he’s “crossed swords” with her in the past. “She’s no leader,” Barr said.
And John McCain? “He’s on a first name basis with every lobbyist you run into,” Barr said. “He’s part of the problem, part of the status quo.”

When I first saw Bob Barr at a Ninth District Republican convention some years back he impressed me as a bit of a jerk. From his latest shenanigans I see my first impression was correct.

What this country DOES NOT need is another Reagan retread stinking up the joint. Bob Barr needs to stick with what he knows, cleaning toilets. He’s more than welcome to run for that office!!

Bob,Please don’t run, McCain needs all the help he can get, Republicans and conservatives need to stick together. Any vote not for John McCain is a vote OBama/Hillary.

Good for Barr, he’ll have my vote. Yeah, yeah, I know the standard argument. “A vote for Ralph Nader is a vote for the Republicans” … “A vote for the libertarian is a vote for the Democrats” … etc. Nonsense. A vote for a independent or 3rd party candidate is a vote for the major parties to move in that direction to shore up their flank.
I don’t see how it really makes a difference whether Obama or McCain wins in November anyway. Obama is about as likely to push socialized health care down the country’s throat as George Bush was able to privatize Social Security. All the “pie in the sky” promises that major party candidates make never pan out in reality… what you’re actually left with is two parties that do pretty much the exact same thing once elected.

Isn’t this the guy who was obsessed with Bill Clinton’s fling with Monica Lewinski? And wasn’t he the one who was ultimately responsible for blowing over fifty million dollars of our tax money on a snipe hunt that produced nothing but a blue dress? FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS? Fifty mil builds a couple of really nice schools. If that’s the kind of money management we can expect out this guy - forget it. Somebody do him a favor and tell him ‘name calling’ is so grade school…we’re done with infants in the White House…

TW: R u nuts? Bobb Barr was part of a GOP jugernaut that exposed the oral sexual escapades of a president in such vivid detail that it’s all america talked about for nearly two years, and everyone talked about it so much that it got into the zeitgeist so that even today, if you manage to get a date with a babe, you are certain to get your knob scobbed. I mean, Bob Barr should be president. Period.
Now, unless you’re gay, you need to be votin’ for the man who brung face paint into the mainstream.
Lewinski goot for’d you, Lewinski goot for’d me. I love to see an intern on her knees. Lewinski goot for’d you, Lewinski goot for’d me, I’d love another BJ if you please…..(if clinton stole Charo’s act).

The last thing I remember Barr’s name being associated with was his championing an accused child molester who claimed that, after delaying his own case for 8 years, that the multiple aggravated child molestation charges should be dismissed due to a lack of “speedy trial”. The AJC even wrote an article about it recently. Upon seeing this bit of info re the presidential run, I went and checked—sure enough, Barr has filed for a “leave of abscence” as the attorney for Ed Kramer, therefore delaying the trial yet again. So much for wanting his client to “have his day in court”. What a piece of work. Both of ‘em.

Bob Barr is a womanizer who cheated on an ailing wife. He is a great role model. He may have been a good prosecutor, but we don’t want this maniac running the country. If you idiots want to waste your votes on this egotistical loser, go ahead. He did nothing in Congress. He would destroy this country. People in this country aren’t so dumb to elect this fool. It’s good you idiots are in the lowest minority; the braindead.

B. Barr why run? I’m a independent liberal, I enjoy your articles but what is the point. I would prefer you debate other politically active idealists of any stripe for the educational and thought-provoking ideas you profess. How ‘bout u, Ron Paul, Al Gore, and other’s get together to move the human race forward thru conversation.

Is Bob Bar the new Ru Paul? If so, does it really matter? If Ru Paul failed, so will Barr. However, I have enjoyed wacthing fools and their money parting ways.

Mr. Barr: Please just sit down and be quiet. It will be hard enough to beat the “Dumacrats” without you taking a bunch of redneck/uneducated voters from McCain.

Those of us who appreciate Mr. Barr has done for this country knows where he stands on issues like civil liberties, gun control, and ethics. That’s a lot more than you can say for any candidate so far. You want someone to take on Clinton, and Obama, and McCain? Turn Barr loose on them and they’ll be heading for the hills for sure.
