A U.S. Senate poll, and a not-so-mysterious YouTube clip
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Dale Cardwell, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, called a couple times over the weekend — excited by a Rasmussen poll of 500 Georgia voters conducted on March 20 — and available by subscription only — that shows him doing better against Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss than his other two Democratic rivals, Vernon Jones and Jim Martin.
You folks can debate whether the margin of error, probably at 4 to 5 percentage points, gives the following horse-race numbers any statistical significance:
— Chambliss vs. Cardwell, 52 to 36 percent;
— Chambliss vs. Jones, 56 to 30 percent;
— Chambliss vs. Martin, 51 to 33 percent.
Chambliss’ combined unfavorables were at 29 percent; Jones’ were at 58 percent; Martin’s at 33 percent; and Cardwell’s at 35 percent.
A Martin-Cardwell clip on YouTube
Cardwell, a former reporter for WSB-TV in Atlanta, is probably the Democratic candidate most overshadowed by last week’s entry of Jim Martin into the Senate race. Perhaps that’s why someone — we don’t know who — chose to post this WSB clip on YouTube on Saturday.
The undated video, labeled “Jim Martin’s Secret,” features Martin, while he was head of the state Department of Human Resources, trying to explain why many state workers were “twiddling their thumbs” because of a fractious computer system.
Oh, and the reporter was a fellow named Dale Cardwell.

Dale Cardwell has raised no money, made a fool of himself by climbing that tower, lost all his key staffers due to his inability to pay them, and has run a joke of a campaign.
The entrance of Atlanta left wing liberal Jim Martin doesn’t change much with this race. He doesn’t have a prayer either, after being crushed in his bid for an open Lt. Governor’s spot less than two years ago. He is pro abortion, pro gay marriage, and has a voting record that would make Hillary Clinton proud.
By Vern might be in jail

Don’t worry about Vernon. The Feds may put him in jail after they investigate the big purchasing scandal going on in the county. Some of his staff members will definitely be going to the pokey. And Friend of Vern, Lee P. Brown, just happens to be Chair of the Board of one of the companies that received millions in county Info. Systems Dept. contracts without approval, Sci-com. After all his shenanigans over the years, who would have guessed that doling out computer contracts in his last year in office is what will finally get Vern thrown in the slammer?

This Senate race is a waste of time for the Dems. They don’t have a prayer against either Republican U.S. Senator barring some sort of sex scandal or something.

ATL is right: Let’s just go to a one-party system and stop holding our Senators and Reps accountable for their actions. Heck, why even bother to vote? What’s the point? Democracy is so stupid, right “ATL?” Fascism rules, yo.

The Rasmussen poll is consistently showing what Georgians want. Isn’t that what polls are for?
(See Sept. and November poll results; Cardwell leads both)
A real outsider; (meaning NOT a professional politician) who’s doing what he promised: running to represent the people of georgia, and proving it by not taking the special interest “pac” money that’s destroying our democracy.
Go get ‘em Dale!

Rasmussens’ butt…. poles be-damned. This country lives off poles. Do people not know that most people never even hear from polsters, and those that do usually tell ‘em to shove it. God sprinkled too many idiots in the mix to suit me.

What a change of tune from the libs. You guys have been citing polls right and left. Now, polls are no good. This is funny. Catchem, you are right. “Poles” are a lousy instruments for measuring public opinion. I have found that polls work better. Peace.

They can have it both ways. Just ask them. Libs can say and do whatever they want, and facts never get in the way. If they lose an election, it was stolen. If they vote to support a war, Bush made them do it. Nothing is ever their fault. Peace.

Churchill’s daughter is on the pole. Just like his mother and wife. Denial is a beautiful thing, Baby. Hold on, now.

Wrong again, Churchill. Hilary knowingly voted for a war she KNEW wasn’t justified or necessary; she’s even admitted as much.
That’s why she’s in so much trouble with those of us who knew better, and have been proven right.

Bush also made the democrats demand a re-vote on the resolution on Iraq before the 2002 midterms, because the public supported the war and the libs wanted to be on record voicing their “support.” There were two resolutions!! Wow, that idiot Bush tricked them twice.

Doubt the Cardwell campaign could afford a DVR and the DSL line needed to post something to YouTube. Must be Jim Martin’s stylist, as revenge for not getting a tip.

Saxby has one major problem, he loves the war in Iraq.
Please consider watching my latest YouTube video. It’s only about one minute long, but it packs a punch. In it I contrast video clips and photos from the war with images of one of the war’s biggest supporters (Senator, Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga)).

As Chairman of the New Grady Coalition and a concerned citizen, I posted the story because I believe it catches Jim Martin in a hypocritical situation: How can he advocate for struggling families and their children, when he chose to harm them in 2003?
Specifically, (if you watch the story) he found a “back door” way, hidden from the pubic (or so he thought) to prevent Georgia’s neediest citizens from applying for Medicaid services. Martin’s failure to repair the DFACS computers helped his Republican boss Sonny Perdue cut the budget, even before Perdue ordered the across the board 2.5% cuts. Who side is this guy on? Not those who are in need and that concerns me! The revolving door to the top must stop.
Please, do your homework before you attach motives to my posting. While I like Dale Cardwell and think he’d do a better job than those who entered this race, I am not working for him and have not contributed to his campaign. I do challenge you to do some real investigative reporting and find out what Martin knew about the computer problems at DFACS and what he did or didn’t do about it.

It’s too bad that Ron Marshall’s post is buried so deeply within this blog. I hope it will see the light of day. I encourage Ron to post on some of the other blogs so these facts will come to more light.
Jim Galloway, please do the right thing and bring this up again so remarks such as, “not-so-mysterious YouTube clip”, can be seen in the light of truth.
Thanks!

Dale Cardwell has plenty more ammunition if he wants to highlight just how off Jim Martin is…as the AJC noted on January 18, 1995. They correctly identified him as one of two defense attorneys who were “more intent on protecting adults suspected of child abuse than the children who may be their victims” when be stood against a bill designed to protect children from abuse.
