Sadie Fields says she’s for Mitt Romney

After remaining on the sidelines for months, Sadie Fields, the chairman of the Georgia Christian Alliance, on Monday took the stage with GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney at a Georgia Tech rally.

Fields stood right behind Rick Santorum, the former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, and gave her personal endorsement of Romney in an interview afterwards.

“I believe that Governor Romney is the best man to run the country for the next eight years. He’s the only candidate running who has created jobs,” said Fields, whose Christian Alliance — formerly the Georgia Christian Coalition — is the most active religious conservative political group in the state.

Since early last year, Fields had refused to make an endorsement in the Republican presidential contest, declaring that none of them appealed to her.

But on Monday she said that she found McCain to be unacceptable because of his sponsorship of compromise bills on immigration and the environment, and because of his backing of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill — which Fields described as an attack on free speech.

On Saturday, Fields had declared an endorsement of McCain by U.S. Sens. Johnny Isakson and Saxby Chambliss to be “disappointing.”

When asked about Mike Huckabee, Fields simply said, “I believe Romney is the best qualified to handle our economic problems.”

An unrelated comment…out of the two of you, the guy with glasses was on C-SPAN last morning. While I liked the way you spoke about local Georgia reactions to the 2008 race, one thing p*ssed me off — you implied at one point that the politics of negativity was only embodied by people like Karl Rove. I wish you had mentioned Messrs Paul Begala and James Carville too, whoc ontinue to be on Sen Clinton’s team and are bashing Sen Obama badly. It just showed typical AJC bias, sir. Apart from that, I liked the way you portrayed Georgia to the nation. You made my Sunday and I thank you for it (the Patriots loss, notwithstanding…he he he)

Sadie Fields is a disgrace and a fraud. I would not want to be in her shoes on judgment day. For her unbiblical divorce and disowning her lesbian daughter, among many other mortal sins, she will feel the angry and vengeful wrath of a furious God. Jesus will say he never knew her, and she will be cast into the Richard M. Nixon memorial Lake of Fire, to burn for eternity with all the other Republican hypocrites and scumbags.

Sadie,

You do realize that in the private sector he actually CUT jobs and as governor he created GOVERNMENT jobs thanks to increasing the size of government in MA. I hate to tell you people but for conservatives, you’re backing the most liberally credentialled candidate out there. Shocking that so-called conservatives would do such a thing. It shows who the true and principled conservatives are.

The Base is Beginning to Rally

In addition to many high profile talk show conservatives, many evangelical leaders are also rallying for Mitt and realizing that he is the best face to represent the party. Here are a few great examples of their thinking:

Reverend Rob Shenck: “After careful and prayerful consideration, I have concluded that an evangelical vote for Mike Huckabee is a vote for John McCain, and a vote for John McCain will be a disaster for this country. Let me explain. It’s clear to me and many others that Mike Huckabee is not broadening his appeal enough to win the primary.”

John Schroeder of Article 6 Blog: “The conservative voice in the Republican party is at stake - everybody agrees on that, and Evangelicals are the energy, motivator, and banner carrier for that voice. Conservatives lose and Evangelicals are on the bench, if they are in the stadium at all. In other words, we stand on the precipice I feared from the beginning. The current electoral calculus is such that a vote for Mitt Romney is the only way to preserve that voice.”

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson: “Love of God, family and country are the most important values in my life. All are under attack in America as never before. I believe that Governor Romney, though not without flaws in his record, is a decent, highly capable man who believes in these same values.”

All politicians changes positions from time to time just to survive the harsh political environment. To see what they truly believe, look at their private lives.

“By their fruits you will know them.”

Unlike all other candidates, Romney and his whole family are scandal free. He has to have strong core conservative values to live a life like that. Plus, he is super bright with tremendous understand in the economy. That’s enough to get my vote.

Go Romney!!

Mitt Romney supporters are arrogant, just like Romney himself. How dare they say someone should drop out. I guess when you are rich you think you can do and say anything, and the “lowly” people are suppose to do whatever you say. Time for this silver spoon dandy to find out everyone knows he (Romney) is a liberal and voting for him would be just like voting for Clinton. Mitt, stop thinking you are better than everyone else.

John McCain is trying to cheat and lie to win this election. It’s just like when he cheated on his disabled wife and eventually divorced her for his rich, younger mistress.

It’s also like the Keating 5, when McCain cheated the American tax payers out of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Since McCain can’t really talk about his senate record (amnesty, against tax cuts, 50 cent gasoline tax, etc.) he tries to play up his “character”. I think his character is despicable. Cheating on and divorcing a crippled wife, wow that’s bad.

Mitt is going all the way!!!

What? Mitt Romney is not a liberal!

By SpinDizzy

February 4, 2008 11:00 PM | Link to this

Mitt brought in gay marriage in Massachusetts. Mitt was for the Brady Bill but suddenly decided to join the NRA a year and a half ago. Mitt opposed Bush tax cuts then claimed he’s supported them all the time. Jobs left MA while he was governor. More of his judicial nominees were liberal. He raised taxes and fees. Sorry but no matter how you spell it Mitt’s record is the farthest to the left of any candidate in the GOP primary. Add to the fact he endorses far left fringe candidates who march with Cindy Sheehan and demand Bush be impeached. Mitt’s words say “conservative” but Mitt’s record say “liberal”. We cannot take that chance.

Churchill why don’t you do me a favor and do some homework on the issue. Go back and read the state court’s decision. They gave the legislature 180 days to make changes. Nothing was done. Mitt told people he saw no choice but to go ahead and make the changes on the government forms and allow for registration for same sex couples. Don’t believe me? Research it. It is a FACT! Mitt did not heed the request of the court to make the legislature make the change but instead cowered down and allowed gay marriage to be enacted on HIS OWN ACTING of the matter. The court issued a request to the legislature. They did nothing and MITT MOVED FIRST making it precedent by his own action to allow for this to occur. As I said, this is FACT. Mitt just cowered down, misread the court’s request and acted on his own to make this policy. So please Churchill, not only did you show your ignorance by assuming I am a Huckabee supporter, you clearly have no knowledge of the guy you support. Before you cast a vote for him, please read up on his actions first. As the old tv line goes - knowledge is power.

Here you go Churchill. I’ll help you do some homework. This is a start. It will help you “see the light”. Mitt actually backed down instead of taking a stand. He could have ignored anything the court said since they placed this in the hands of the Legislature and NOT him. But Mitt took matters into his own hands and made it official state policy. Had he not, had he stood up for marriage, this would have just festered in the hands of the legislature and drifted away. Mitt backed down. Is this the character you want standing up for conservative values? http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2007/may/07051511.html

Nice made up facts their Spindizzy, You have sun yourself into a tizzy. A bunch of libs (the Supreme Court of MA) forced the issue. Do not lie. But libs always lie. You guys were touting the “influence” of the MA Supreme Court back when it happened. “Oh, how progressive. Oh, how forward thinking.” You cannot have it both ways. Liar.

February 5, 2008 12:04 AM | Link to this

Churchill. I cannot believe you are stupid enough to ignore facts. Every conservative group researching the issue said Mitt should have sat back and done nothing. Read up my friend. Believe what you will. Mitt’s own actions created gay marriage in MA. I never said Mitt forced the issue. Goodrich forced the issue to the court. The court told the LEGISLATURE to decide something in 180 days. When nothing was done, Mitt took matters into his own hands. The National Review is NOT liberal. http://www.nationalreview.com/arkes/arkes200405170901.asp. Neither is Pat Buchanan and Alan Keyes. Herb Titus is not either. Will you call them all liars and conspirators as well? Deny the record my friend. But these links as well as others show the facts.

Let us “conserve” the Constitution. There is nothing conservative about promoting illegal immigration or being a smarmy chameleon changing with the wind supporting a treasonous draft-dodger like Bush.

Roman Catholic McCain is mobbed-up through his present wife’s beer-distributing family and sees no problem staying on Bush’s false-war for 100 years.

Romney is a draft-dodging fraud who made his money helping to destroy American businesses and shipping capital off-shore to avoid U.S. taxes.

Huckabee wants to amend the Constitution to prevent women from having control of their own bodies and reproduction.

Please use your G-d-given common sense to make America a better place. Obama is a better man with a genuine appreciation for the Constitution.

Let’s come together as One People and elect Obama for president.

Dale Cardwell for the Senate, as well.

Thanks.

With 12 ethic charges and as a born-again Christian, I can’t understand how others continue to support the false Mike Huckabee. The rating as the most liberal Republican Governor should also give Southern conservatives pause. They have been completely mis-led by a golden tongue who never wanted anyone to see his record. His attempts to sign every No Amnesty pledge was because he had been rated abysmal by these same groups. Romney may not be a member of my Religious family, but from all research, he is not a devious hypocrite that make up conspiracy theories.
