We’ve got the audio on that Obama/Lewis robo-call

Listen to it here, courtesy of reader John Thigpen.

Turns out the co-founder of an Atlanta phone-bank firm says he did it on his own. Read the story here.

Here’s the script:

“John Lewis has repeatedly refused to endorse a fellow member of the Black Caucus running for president, Senator Barack Obama. If you want to tell your congressman, John Lewis, that you want him to support a fellow member of the [Congressional] Black Caucus for president, call his office at 404-659-0116.

“Don’t be afraid to call, and remember, King Day is on Jan. 21 this year. And we shouldn’t have a congressman in King’s own home city refusing to endorse a member of the Black Caucus. So call his office at 404-659-0116, and ask him to support Senator Barack Obama.”

The number cited is indeed that of U.S. Rep. John Lewis’ Atlanta office. The Obama campaign quickly denied responsibility for the robo-call, and said it’s asking Attorney General Thurbert Baker to investigate.

Now what did you expect a liberal like Obama to say? “INVESTIGATE” is their favorite word. At least, they didn’t say “Bush did it!”. Well, not yet, anyway.

By Will Jones

The “robo call’s” repeated theme of “Black” “Black” “Black” is “Divide and Conquer” racism ruling out the Obama campaign as its source…as if there were any question.

Until the source of the “robo-call” is proven, Hillary should be given the benefit of the doubt.

It has Karl Rove’s m.o., and those tied to 9-11-committing Bush by party affiliation have only one path to the White House, other than the vote fraud and Roman Catholic Supreme Court that got them there in 2000 and 2004: running against Bill’s “Beard” Hillary. So they have an interest in such evil, to try to make Obama look bad.

Obama is on the truly presidential “servant of the People” high road, and we, all Atlanta and Georgia, must lead America on that path.

Please get “The Audacity of Hope.” Talk to your friends and family. This must be a monumental movement to overcome the fraud in the pipeline from the same minds that killed Kennedy and King, funded Hitler, and committed 9-11.

Obama is America’s Hope. May G-d bless us, as a Nation and a People, once more.

And I thought Oliver Stone was crazy. Now you are saying that the same people that funded Hitler committed 9/11? You would think that a bunch of folks over 100 years old wouldn’t be trying to defeat Obama.

This is an email sent to Obama supporters (me) today.

As the Democratic primaries heat up, we’re seeing a lot of the ugly Washington tactics right here in Georgia.

Most recently, we’ve heard a number of disturbing reports from metro-Atlanta residents who have received automated calls criticizing Congressman John Lewis for supporting Senator Clinton’s campaign.

Congressman Lewis is an American hero, and we all owe him an enormous debt of gratitude for his courage and sacrifice. Senator Obama and this campaign respect his decision to support Senator Clinton, and we call on the source of these appalling calls to stop them immediately.

These kinds of misleading tactics are exactly what inspired Barack to run for president — to put an end to the politics of saying and doing whatever it takes to get elected. And in these final weeks before the Georgia primary on February 5, it’s up to us to show that anonymous attacks and divisive Washington strategies won’t decide the outcome of this race — the people of Georgia will.

If you have received one of these misleading negative calls, please contact our Georgia Headquarters at 404-688-1108 or email us at Georgia@BarackObama.com.

Let’s stand up for a new kind of politics and show our opponents how things should be done here in Georgia.

Thank you,

Eureka

If you listen carefully to the end of the recording, the caller actually breaks off at the end, but it doesn’t end exactly as the transcript here indicates: “ask him to support Senator Barack Obama.” The caller actually says, “support Senator Barack Obama against…” Not sure of the significance of that, but there it is.

I have no idea who’s behind this call, but I do have some thoughts about which candidate benefits from the injection of race into this campaign, and that’s Senator Clinton. It doesn’t matter how well he does in any argument with her - as long as Obama allows Clinton & Clinton to play the cards of identity politics, setting her up as the “woman candidate” against the “black candidate”, he’s going to get a losing electoral hand.

This is just like something Obama would do.

First the anti gay gospel singer, then the Reagan comments, playing the race card against Hillary. Now this.

Disgusting.

I’m tired of everyone thinking that because an African American runs for anything, all (AA) will vote for him…I didn’t support Jesse, or Al Sharpen. Obama brings a new stream of intelligence to our country. No more rich kids grown up trying to rule, company payouts…this guy thinks young, corporate, and understands the working class of America…He is more to adapt then any nominee listed on both ballads. Nobody says white all white people will vote for every white running president…Look at Obama supporters, there all colors….next 15 years from now Paris Hilton will run….what do you think of that.

Jim Galloway, is there any way you can either (a) stop Will Jones from posting his ludicrous comments or (b) automatically warning new readers that this particular reader is clearly not working with a full deck?

I’m dead serious. Regular readers —no matter what their political views may be — have learned to ignore Will Jones and to hope that someday he will get the kind of mental health treatment he desperately needs.

But, Mr. Galloway, to allow this obvious nutcase to spew his venom and preposterous comments log after log after log will, in time, drive readers away.

Before anyone types their usual vile drivel, please insert the other candidates name and replace things like “b***” with “b*******,” “sexist” with “racist” and see if that makes you feel any better.

It’s spelled “LaRouche, Polly, and no, I only follow America’s Founder and Prophet Thomas Jefferson…other than Annuit Coeptis and the other Mottoes.

LaRouche was raised by Jesuits and blames all the world ills on everyone EXCEPT the Roman Catholic Church.

Nothing I write here fails the test of reasonableness and the prophetic wisdom of Thomas Jefferson. A gloss will be provided on any Whiggish sentiment questioned. America’s birthright is standing against lies and perversion in government. That this blog, in particular, protects Freedom of Speech is a credit to the Cox Daughters and everyone at the AJC.

P.S. the f*, in my above post, was an oversight on my part, and I apologize. The term for the bundle of sticks which represents fascism, the Fasces, has for a name what is otherwise a slur. Whether the English gave it this name because of the Babylonian priesthood which formed its religion of pedophiles while gathering firewood with the women of Latina rather than venturing out with the men on war parties is lost to the mists of time.

After the clever way the Clintons put the “African-American Candidate” collar around Obama’s neck last week I was glad to see him play the same game on them this week with his obviously well thought out comment on Reagan. I couldn’t believe they were so stupid as to spring the trap on themselves (remember Obama never commented on the Clintons’ MLK trap). The Clintons are the most pro-Reagan of all Democrats and have always praised him lavishly. Most of us think Pres. Clinton was much more of a Reagan Democrat than a real Democrat. Let the Clintons play their sophmoric games and race/ethic group splitting. Obama’s brain wraps around both theirs many times, why Laurence Tribe says he was the smartest student at Harvard. Bubba and his woman are playing checkers, Obama’s playing chess.

Considering who has the most to lose, this crass phone tactic attempting to berate Senator Obama’s campaign could easily have been set up by a Clinton supporter. The Clintons thought they would waltz into the White House for another four years and found out that it won’t be a waltz. I’m supporting Senator Obama and as a female, I am disgusted with the underhanded half truths coming from Senator Clinton. I would vote for a republican before I would vote for her. I do not want to hear her screaming for the next four years. Senator Obama should stay on the high road and let her coninue to shoot herself in the foot with all of the nastiness.

Will is a Farrakhan admirer. Obama’s pastor just named the bow-tied one “man of the year.”

Birds of a feather…

By Will Jones

January 22, 2008 10:10 PM | Link to this

Farrakhan is a servant of the Anti-Christ. He called for the death of Malcolm, and his followers, with the help of the FBI, assassinated him. Any but a tool of evil would have been arrested as, at least, an accessory before the fact. As it was he went on to give his “Add it Up” speech calling for the deaths of 120 million white Americans to balance the evil of slavery and the Middle Passage. No fan of Farrakhan here. He serves Rome’s “Divide and Conquer” plan. Thankfully Barack Obama can bring us together as One Nation.

You have the tape from the call, but will you review the tape of Bill Clinton’s words at the MLK Commenoration when he referred to poor rural white Americans as CRACKERS from the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta and on the King Holiday! The Clintons are disgusting and this race baiting is ridiculous. No President should use degrading names to refer to any group or class of people.

I’ll just wait to see if the state of Georgia does what it can do to the caller: revoke his permit to do business, for not identifying who the call was from. It’s be more interesting if this had been in South Carolina, there’s a $1000 penalty per call in that state, reportedly. As he serves the interests of the party in power, I’m not holding my breath about any penalties.

When people can vote themselves money from our treasury without putting any in, we shall lose our grand country.

You mean like the way Cheney held closed-door “energy” meetings to discuss policies that put money in the pockets of his friends, and the no-bid, unaudited contracts that have emptied our treasury, run up debts higher than we can even count, and left us holding generations worth of interest to foreing countries while they stuff their untaxed dough in Dubai and the Caymans? According to YOUR logic, BILL, we’ve already lost it!!!

every year we here change is good , so far thats the only thing that can be sold to us when someone want to get something from the black communitys. the real change in my life came when i move to Ga from Buffalo Ny , and found out all blacks are not my people. and to vote for some because of they are black remind me of the day as a youth when we first saw black police officers…what a site to see, only problem after that was , the black cops and the white cops beating disrespect was the same. Hon Lewis is a man whom set the pace for us he was beating , sprayed with hoses, and attack by dogs. if we think we can have have real change with out the advise of our elders , you fooling your self. I do hope to meet Mr Louis soon,( his uncle OC keep pushing me to call him ) along with many other black leaders of our pass , it will hurt not help if anyone show lack of respect for our elder leader, ATLANTA GA IS A EXAMPLE WHY THE COLOR IS NO REASON TO VOTE FOR A PERSON ON JUST COLOR…….ATL LOST THE CLAIM OF BEING CALLED THE BIBLE BELT…….LOOK UNDER THE BRIDGES AND ASK YOUR SELF AM I MY BROTHER KEEPER..IF WE EXCPECT OTHER TO TREAT US EQUAL WE MUST TREAT OUR SELF AS EQUAL……………PLEASE CHEACK THE CONTEXT NOT THE SPELLING……

As to “George Clements”…

“George Clements is an American Roman Catholic priest who made history in 1981 by becoming the first priest to adopt a child. The Father Clements Story was produced as a film by NBC starring actor Lou Gossett Jr. Father Clements was at one time the pastor of Holy Angels Elementary School, a historically African-American Roman Catholic elementary school on the South side of Chicago.”

John Garst’s call is stupid and unAmerican in so many ways. First of all, John Lewis represents the 5th District as their Congressman, not their proxy for voting in elections. John Lewis is first and foremost an American who is free to vote for whomever he pleases. Any suggestion otherwise is simply un-American. Second, the fact that he didn’t identify himself and/or his company means he was trying to do it surreptiously, and get people to blame Hillary and her camp. It seems to have worked, which is really sad. Garst is a Republican, no doubt about it, and the token democratic clients he lists are a front. Third, it is despicable that someone who makes a living in the political arena would think it is okay to try to throw gasoline on the fire in this way. He should be ashamed of himself, though I’m guessing that, as a Republican, he’s not. He’s probably only sorry he got caught.

Rosetta Stone Communications (RSC) breaks Federal Telephone Consumer Protection act laws. I have received numerous calls from this company on behalf of candidates and officials outside of my district. All autodialed prerecorded message calls must state the person or entity that placed the call and must state a call back telephone number in the message. This call was an abuse of the privelege to use autodialed prerecorded messages. This call was not a political campaign call, it is clearly harrassment to voters and John Lewis. RSC does not have a valid telephone listed in any public directory, including the GA Sec. of State and the Public Service Commission. They don’t have any contact info even on their own website. GA PSC requires all companies using ADAD calling equipment to be registered with the state. I urge everyone to file a complaint with the PSC, this is abuse of their privelege. This compnay should be required to have on valid telephone number availble to citizens and keep a “Do Not Call” list for resident that wish to be excluded from any type of annoying, impersonal invasive, autodialed prerecorded messages.

JK @ 8:58 a.m. wrote: “You mean like the way Cheney held closed-door ‘energy’ meetings to discuss policies that put money in the pockets of his friends….”

Two words: prove it.

Conspiracy-minded left wing nut jobs write about these “closed door” meetings. Don’t most people have closed door meetings? Did Cheney break the law? If you have personal knowledge of law breaking, why not contact the Department of Justice. Or the law enforcement official of your choice. Fact is, you have not evidence. Just some “closed door” evil meeting. A VP can’t control prices at the gas pump.

If you had a modicum of knowledge about what controls these prices, you’d know that. But left wingers can’t speak in economic terms. The only such words they know are “gimme more”, “evil rich”, “rich just keep gettin’ richer.” They have to create a bogeyman just to keep their fellow left wing nutjobs fired up. They’ve never met a payroll or run a business.

I’m more worried about the $1 trillion in new spending Hillary has envisioned. Or Obama’s declaration that anyone earning more than $97k/yr. is rich and needs to be taxed more. Or that any Democrat will make us more dependent on the government which makes us less free.
