Huckabee shows the grease under his fingernails
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Michigan may show us what makes Mike Huckabee a sudden, formidable force in the Republican presidential primary.
In Iowa, he was buoyed by his appeal to Christian conservatives, the mainstay of the GOP there — and in Georgia.
Now, Huckabee has put up his first TV ad in rusting, job-challenged Michigan — and is showing off his blue collar background with what may be the best line of his campaign:
“Most Americans want their next president to remind them of the guy they work with — not the guy who laid them off.”
Not a bad message for a country on the edge of a recession — or already there. And it’s a less-than-sly dig at businessman Mitt Romney, for whom Michigan has become a must-win state.

It is foolish to listen to his campaign rhetoric and not look at his record. The are different. http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/huckabeecutcrimeandtaxes.html
Huckabee is a big government, tax and spend Republican.
He also supports amnesty.

From ALIPAC:
Mike Huckabee Touchback Amnesty illegal aliens back in days! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jKeWIrlzLw#GU5U2spHI_4
Friends of ALIPAC,
We now have our own copy of the Dec. 9, 2007 video where Mike Huckabee leaks the part of his plan you won’t find on his website, in his campaign material, or repeated on his lips. You won’t find his Minuteman spokesman mentioning the contents of this video either.
Under the Huckabee plan, the illegals return within days. They will not be giving up their jobs or leases. They will not be packing their bags.
And when they return, they will be immune from immigration enforcement and on the “path to citizenship” giving America 15-20 million new voters who were previously illegal aliens.
What do you think your lives will be like when they are turned into voters?
Please view this video and if you do not understand what is being said, view it again.
Please forward this video to everyone you know and ask them to do the same.

Huckabee is no conservative. He should be running on the democrat ticket. If you vote for someone because he is a former Baptist preacher you have no business voting. This election is about getting rid of the illegals and dealing with the terrorists that want us all dead; it is not about abortion, gay marriage, health care, etc.. If we get it wrong on these social programs, we can always correct those mistakes. If we get it wrong on immigration or the war on terror, we won’t get a chance to correct that. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

I think those of us that oppose illegal immigration should hold a quiet peaceful protest to highlight Huckabee’s stance on amnesty and his past illegal immigration stances. The news media will be at this event and Huckabee is the speaker. It will draw attention to his stance on illegal immigration..

If you know the FairTax, as huck and smart people do, you’ll embrace it. It’s the only way to save America.

You have an edited version of the interview. Huckabee went on to explain that the shortness of the return was still related to the shortness of the application process for all who want to enter this country.
In other words, they still must get in back of the line. If the process is reducted to days, it is because it has been reduced to days for all.

You guys are misinformed. I have proof on my blog that Mike Huckabee is no more a taxer than Mitt Romney. As a matter of fact, the tax burden under Mitt increased 75% faster than it did under Mike Huckabee.

Wow, Mitt Romney must have really reached deep into his pocketbook to pay all these Huckabee haters to comment here. He is trying to buy this election.

Huckabee is the only candidate for Prophident. The rest are running for president.
During these times of evil Islamo-Terroristic-Fascistical threats, we need someone that can hunt down the devil. Someone who can follow in the footsteps of our great Prophident Bush and defeat the evil evil-doerers.

I think the Huckster is a big government, tax raising, big spender fiscal liberal.
I support Fred not Mitt.
He is ethically challenged as well.

All the politicians get hammered by FactCheck.org. Just from the last debate alone, they got everyone INCLUDING Fred Thompson. So before you use FactCheck.org to play “gotcha” make sure YOU don’t have a horse in the race… he might get hit as well.

Someone who can lead Arkansas out of the Clinton/Tucker years — and slog through the budget expansion caused by the fed’s shifting of the welfare burden to the states — and who raised Arkansans’ standard of living and education, is the right kind of person for the job.

Huckabee is some sort of Moderate/Republican/Liberal hybrid. I wish he get that snaggle-tooth of his taken care of. It bothers me almost as much as his lib policies.

“his lib policies”?
Huckabee is trying to let his faith lead his actions. Try reading past Leviticus sometime.

If he wants to be a lib, fine. Just don’t try to convince everyone that it is conservatism. So now, libs are living according to God’s word because they support big government? Whatever.

Not one person wrote a serious comment. Sign of the times.
When the voters are alone in the booth, and it becomes obvious that there’s no way to surf porn sites on those confounded Diebold machines, then, and only then will the individual decisions be made, and it will confound the pundits, the pudwits, and the pudendums.
Fact. Believe it. Live it.

Probably not dirt under those fat fingernails - more likely something left over from a personal meeting with Reverend Ted Haggard or Chuck Norris…
The Huckleberry’s philosophy seems to be “sometimes to reach out, you have to reach around”.
