Blogwatch: Oh, dear. The tears
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
For Georgia blogger Sid Cottingham, a Democrat, the sight of Hillary Clinton fighting off tears today brought back memories of Ed Muskie. He’s found a good account of the ‘72 incident in the New York Times obituary of Muskie, who died in 2004.
Read about it here. See the AJC video clip of a dewy-eyed Clinton here.

The real reason for Hillary’s tears was she can’t understand why she’s losing. What was supposed to be a coronation in her megalomaniac mind has turned into a nightmare.

She is too ambitious. She is too insincere. That is why people do not trust her. That is also why she comes across as an arrogant PERSON who has more faith in herself than in the American voters. Bill Clinton was able to pull it off, but Hillary does not.

Don't compare Clinton and Muskie,It's not apples and apples.Ed Muskie was a man of integrity who just couldn't stomach an attack on his wife.He was completely shocked.I t never occured to him that politics was that nasty.Clinton, on the other hand would not be bothered by integrity, she is just frustrated that she's not the darling of the American people that she thought she was.By Mrs. RepubLady

Good job, everyone! First, because she did not stay home and bake, and instead chose to participate in trying to make this country better, we paint her to be a cold, heartless ice-woman with no feminine soul, who only stayed married out of greed and ambition, and only worked hard as a lawyer, first lady, and senator because she hates everything good and decent.
Then when she shows a human side, we either (a) laugh at her for being so weak, or (b) point out that it’s all fake.
Nice job! We have so much integrity, we can keep this country going on the great path it’s on!!!

Jane is insincere. She’s a sad woman for hating another woman for being ambitious. Jane only likes ambitious men she can use her feminie wiles on to support her so she never has to work or do anything for anybody. Jane is threatened by women who work. They are too ambitious. How arrogant for a woman to try to do something only MEN do! Jane does not criticize ambitious men because she uses them. But she loves to put other women down for trying! In truth, she hates everybody.

Has the thought occurred to the two of you that Hillary Clinton really MIGHT be a little too cold and calculating to people?
Yes, there are sexists in this country, but there are also people who would be more than willing, happy even, to elect a woman president.
But at the same time just because she’s a woman, and just because she’s Bill Clinton’s wife, does not mean that she is any more qualified than anyone else to be president.

How many think willful dishonesty and feckless incompetence and apathy are preferable to “cold, calculating” COMPETENCE and a desire and ability to actually DO the job? Because that’s what we’ve had for seven years. How many of you, in the last two elections, voted for “the kind of guy you can have a beer with?”
Guess what? You ain’t never gonna have a beer with the President. It’s the President’s job to be competent, even that means being so engrossed in doing a good job that he or she appears to be “cold and calculating.” DUH!
I’m not a supporter of Senator Clinton or any other candidate at this point, but I think if you are going to attack someone, you should do it with something beyond “her personality makes me uneasy and she’s too ambitious!” Ted Bundy was charming. Scooby Doo is likable. You’re not electing someone to yuk it up with on Sunday afternoon, you’re electing someone to a very important JOB! Wake up, people.
