Can you accept it now?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Still not taking seriously the notion of former Georgia congresswoman Cynthia McKinney running for president?
Well, maybe this will convince you.
McKinney, who left the Democratic Party and Georgia after losing her congressional seat for a second time in 2006,has officially announced her quest for the Green Party’s presidential nomination on YouTube, dishing broadsides to both Republicans and her former party mates.
Declaring “I am a Green,” McKinney lashed out at the government’s handling of the Iraq war, its response to Hurricane Katrina and its support for the oil industry.
“The Republicans have deceived us. The Democrats have failed us,” she said in the seven-minute video.
See. Believe. And, for goodness sake, don’t let yourself be distracted by the whacky TV-flag-thing gyrating behind her.

This loud mouthed illiterate racist has no business running for prez. She did nothing during her time in the past except rename a post office, and something else as uselesss re: Tupacs memorial or something. Anyone who would vote for her ought to be neutered.

No matter what you think of McKinney, you have to admit she’s 100% right on this point.

So is a broken clock twice a day.
After Ralph Nader in 2004, and Ross Perot quitting in 1992, it’s going to take someone who is a lot more impressive than her to get me to vote 3rd party.
Unless its Romney v. Hillary.

I’m not saying you should vote for her. I’m just pointing out that, as McKinney said, our two-party system is hopelessly corrupt. And will remain so until We the People get off our butts and DO something about it.

This is bad news for the GOP. The Greenies used to draw large nos of votes from the dims. Ralph Nader got 97,000 in Florida alone in 2000. Without Nader The Gorbot would be president we’d be sitting in the dark and bowing to Mecca 6 times a day. Nobody but a fellow crackpot would vote for Cynthia. We need a viable Green party to give the nutjobs a candidate to vote for.

When I read comments like this, I understand why the Green Party has had such a hard time taking hold in Georgia.
Yes, McKinney calls it like she sees it: “The Republicans have deceived us. The Democrats have failed us,” If you believe differently, perhaps 1) you are not paying attention, 2) you only believe what you want to believe, or 3) you are part of the Republican and Democrat corporate controlled problem.
And what if it is Romney v. Hillary???
Some of the comments are sad and an embarrassment for our city, our state - even our newspapers, if the media can be embarrassed.
But until we have a truly competitive multi party system in this nation, any minority voice will remain unrepresented, no matter who that minority is. A competitive multi party system is the only way for democracy to evolve in our nation. ‘Cause goodness knows, it sure is in trouble.

“bowing to Mecca”? If Gore had been president, he would have paid attention when he was told “bin Laden determined to strike in the United States” - and maybe we could have been spared all this trouble. Instead, the “decider” went back to chopping brush…
But hey, don’t let the facts mess with your “Soldier of Fortune” fantasies, Thin Guy.

“she has no business running for pres”? she could hardly do near as much damage as the current administration.
Our economy is going to be about 100 trillion$ short of where we were in 2000 by the time he’s done.
you can keep wasting your vote, but i’m voting Green Party no matter who gets their nomination for president. all the candidates that matter

Roman Catholic McKinney’s other failure was her refusal to actually point the Finger of Knowable Truth at Bush’s 9-11 treason…and instead acted, with Roman Catholic Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 911,” as a “vaccine” for the Big Lie.
Bush actually committed 9/11 with Cheney, just as his father killed John Kennedy and his grandfather financed the rise of Hitler, and the Holocaust.
“Warring against [the principles] of the people,… there is no length to which [the delusion of the people] may not be pushed by a party in possession of the revenues and the legal authorities of the United States, for a short time indeed, but yet long enough to admit much particular mischief. There is no event, therefore, however atrocious which may not be expected.” —Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Smith, 1798. (*) ME 10:56
Read “The New Pearl Harbor,” by the fully credible scholar David Ray Griffin, and listen to Our Prophet and Founder, Th. Jefferson. Believe it now and do something about it (Obama is the only candidate even making an arguable allusion to the matter) or know your children will be either slaves or slavemasters later.
Whig Truth Founded America. It is the Truth still: History unfolds as a result of the conflict between Rome and everyone else.
G-d is not mocked.

Dear Will Jones,
I bet you are the only person in Amerika that thinks McKinney somehow aided Bush’s [many] Big Lie[s]. Having said that, I must say McKinney did a fine job of questioning Cheney, so good a job that Cheney practically ran from the room. Obama was no where to be found. Ask the 9-11 Truth movement who they think has done more to help their cause: the vast majority would pick Cynthia McKinney over all the other candidates for President, and over most citizens of our nation!!!

Nan, McKinney is a national joke. I think it says alot about the 911 truth movement, and those who are a part of it, if they would support someone like McKinney. The woman is a cop beating, imbecile. Can anyone name another member of congress that has assaulted a police officer?

Death for bad writing.
Can we give the phrase, “having said that…” a rest? What is it with you uber-pundits and your hacked worn-out cliches? “duh, that sounded good, I think I’ll write it too and I’ll be the genius…duhhhhh”
RETARDS!

Does soliciting a police officer for sex in a public restroom stall count as an assault on a police officer?
If so then I guess you would have to say yes there is another congressman out there that has abused a police officer.
A Senator at that. Larry Craig a Republican from Idaho was convicted of a sex crime for acts he committed in a public restroom.
I don’t think McKinney was ever convicted.
Btw, that Republican Senator from Idaho is still in office.

The most pitiful thing about Cynthia McKinney is that, compared to most Georgia politicians, she’s way above average in intelligence and integrity.
You filthy morons have a long history of electing worthless trash.
Trash elects trash. Look around, kkklowns.

Greetings, it is We the Pope.
Ms. McKinney is more courageous that your average Georgia congressperson. Other than Mr. Lewis, most of the others would consent to onsight strip searches and eagerly await the cavity search.
Can you imagine a coward like Westmoreland, Lindner, Philicity Gingrey, or Chickenhawk Chambliss standing their ground with a stupid cop?
Of course you can’t.

Striking a stupid cop hardly constitutes a defining moment in the life of a reasonable person. A little more thought and a lot less reaction would likely lead one to the conclusion that the stupid cop was just doing the stupid job that his stupid boss gave him to do ever since some other stupid people decided that the less stupid thing to do would be to make sure that the stupid people entering the stupid capitol on any given stupid day were supposed to be there for some stupid reason.

As long as we have racist vitriol spewed out instead of intelligent dialog…whether positive or negative…we will live in a racial divide. The number of racist may be small…but, like a forest conflagration, it can be sparked by a very tiny source of heat.
Each of US can be the racists’ flame retardant that will extinguish their heat and flames by our refusing to be a fuel source for their hatetred.
