Robertson’s endorsement of Giuliani, and the fallout

The conservative American Spectator today addresses rifts within the GOP evangelical base over televangelist Pat Robertson’s endorsement of Rudy Giuliani for president:

“We had no warning about his decision,” says a senior official with Regent University, the school Robertson founded. “It has placed in a difficult position of trying to explain how a man of God could support a man who at the very least is at odds with his church, and is very likely not in good standing with his church.”

The piece also notes that last week’s endorsement has put Roberston at odds with long-time associate Jay Sekulow, a Washington insider and chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, a conservative Christian advocacy group based in Alpharetta.

Sekulow and Gwinnett County publicist Mark DeMoss have been the leading Southern evangelical figures backing Mitt Romney.

The Sekulow family were also major supporters of Ralph Reed’s candidacy in the ‘06 primary race for lieutenant governor. Reed hasn’t formally endorsed Giuliani — who came down to Atlanta last year to help Reed raise money for his unsuccessful attempt at candidacy.

But the former executive director of the national Christian Coalition has had some awfully nice things to say about Giuliani.

Perhaps Robertson is an affiliate within the same “family” branch of Organized Crime as Giuliani? Not likely any in Robertson’s inner circle, of which Susan Smith’s step-father was counted, could be anything but “birds of feather” to the “televangelist” and proven false prophet.

Maude,

Wow. And I thought those clad in white sheets and pointed hats who burned crosses were gone. Spelling is not your forte either I am guessing? You fit more along the lines of some Ron Paul supporters than Rudy supporters.

As a long-time values voter, I am confused by the Rev. Pat Robertson’s endorsement of Mayor Guiliani. Are the personal morals of the President important, or are they not? A few years ago we learned that almost nothing is more important than the President’s personal private moral behavior, as explained at length by the prevailing Holy Roller leadership faction. Now this turns that upside down. Please help!

Hey “Holy Roller,” unconcerned about the two-years’ worth of 202 visits, many overnight, to the social entrance of the White House (restricted to guests of “First Family”), by fake journalist, $200 an hour homosexual prostitute James Guckert/”Jeff Gannon”?

Bush is Anti-Christ. Whether Ted Haggard or Pat Robertson “supports” him, are they anything but Anti-Christ, as well? Got Prayer?

Robertson with Giuliani and Right to Life with Fred.

It’s the year of the sellouts.

Everyone knows that Pat Robertson’s endorsement of Rudy Giuliani is based on the fact that Robertson’s a nutjob…a Bible-thumping nutjob. Figure it out. Why else would the Reverend-of-All-Things-Holy-and-Right support a so-called Republican candidate who’s position on key conservative issues is anything but conservative?

Mr. Jones, yes, that is a concern of mine! Preacher keeps telling me I have to vote Republican to deny rights to those sodomites or else more 9-11 will happen. But clearly the evidence shows many of our Republican leaders are sodomites too. I asked Preacher if it was a sin for Mr. Guckert to change his name to Gannon and sneak into the back door (heh) of our most sacred White House and he told me to get back in the kitchen and make some more biscuits.

Love the way you think, Holy Roller….

The only real Christian conservative in the race is Huckabee. If the right wing nut jobs really cared about moral issues, and not power, they’d be supporting Huckabee.

If Huckabee were actually an intelligent Man of G-d he would shun, and work to bring to justice, the Bushite faction’s philistine Anti-Christ treason.

Robertson’s endorsement of Giuliani is a slap in the face to all pro-life Christians. This endorsement shows that Robertson is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Maybe we should just quit watching the 700 club? He is making a mockery of the Christian movement!

You weren’t turned off of him when he lied about being in combat in Korea? Robertson is a sneering tool of the Anti-Christ.
