Chip Rogers to be voice, chief staffer for Thompson campaign in Georgia
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Fred Thompson presidential campaign is about to get its boots moving on the ground in Georgia.
The Thompson organization plans to announce tomorrow that state Sen. Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) will serve as its executive director and spokesman for the Georgia campaign.
Rogers is the fellow who sponsored the big Republican effort in 2006 to crack down on illegal immigrants in Georgia.
Joel McElhannon, who did much of the strategy work for Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in his 2006 campaign, will serve as regional political director.
Steve Croy, a major developer from south Georgia, will serve as Thompson’s finance chair here. He did the same thing for the Cagle campaign in 2006. Funny how that works.
Rogers’ involvement is the personification of the crush that’s headed Georgia’s way in the weeks leading up to the Feb. 5 presidential primary.
The Legislature, with Rogers as one of its members, will begin its winter session on the second Monday in January.
Look for Thompson to make his first appearance in Georgia next month.

Dr. Ron Paul is the ONLY truly conservative candidate.
TRUE conservatives want smaller government (and the lower tax bill that comes with it) and more freedom. The only one of ANY of the current Presidential candidates that has these ideals is Dr. Ron Paul.

wasn’t it Joel McElhannon that botched the Jim Whitehead congressional campaign just a month or so ago??? If he can screw up that campaign, he can screw up anything!

Thompson could not have made a better choice than Joel McElhannon and chip Rogers. They are the best.
Jim whitehead lost his election because he allowed norwoods idiot staff push Joel out in June and he went on with Thompson. It was Norwood staffers who botched that election and ruined Jim whitehead.Joel
If whitehead would have stick with and listened to McElhannon he would be our congressman.
Thompson has made a great choice with Joel.

I think most people agree its not about campaign managers and such - its about the average joes who work so hard to help candidates win. Chip Rogers is my senator and he does a fantastic job. I met steve croy at the state convention and he’s a very impressive guy.
Thompson is off to a great start with both of them.
I’ve heard whispers that the Fred Thompson campaign has quietly built an incredible grassroots operation. I think Chip Rogers and Steve Croy will prove their worth very soon.

Ru Paul is the Mike Gravel of the Republican Party. He will not get the nod. I have got my eye on either Fred or Rudy. They could be Mrs. Bill Clinton. Ru Paul could not.
P.s. At least Thompson marries the young one. Bill Clinton goes through a box of cigars and then gets rid of her.
Anybody (politically viable) But Hillary!!!

Thompson is a CFR member. Bush and Clinton surrounded themselves with CFR members. Do you want more CFR members???
