A Rasmussen/WAGA poll on the U.S. Senate race
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Dale Cardwell, one of three announced Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate, is bragging on a WAGA (Fox 5)/Rasmussen poll that shows him doing slightly better against Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss than fellow Democrat Vernon Jones.
See the poll here.
The Chambliss/Cardwell match-up comes out at 49 to 33 percent. The Chambliss/Jones race was measured at 53 to 28 percent. That shows him the better candidate, Cardwell is arguing this morning.
But more interesting is the favorable/unfavorable line on all three candidates. Chambliss’ ratio is a relatively healthy 58 percent to 30 percent. Jones has the near reverse — 29 percent view him favorably, while 54 percent view him unfavorably.
Yet Cardwell’s rating doesn’t exactly show him to be a muscle-bound candidate, either. Those polled were nearly even in their judgment. Thirty-four percent saw Cardwell favorably, while 39 percent viewed him unfavorably. Former journalists, like lawyers, may carry a heavier burden than most when it comes to public opinion.

Its good to see Saxby enjoying such good poll numbers. He certainly deserves them. Senator Chambliss has worked tirelessly to represent the people of Georgia.
Looking forward to another 6 years of Saxby in the Senate!

Saxby has a more than healthy lead. Fill him in for an easy re-election. He’s done everything right in representing Georgia in the Senate and deserves to his large lead.

This really is bad news for the Democrats. State Party Chairwoman Jane Kidd has staked her reputation on being able to mount a credible challenge to Saxby next year.
Last week’s spat between Vernie and Jane coupled with these unfavorables for both of the Democratic challengers, really shows just how weak they are.

GREAT! That is some refreshing news. Maybe now some of us who are less vocal can get our voices heard. Cardwell isn’t ashamed to speak out for citizens who want our country back! He exposed murder, graft and shady deals for years. Now he can make a real difference for our families. YOU GO DALE!!!! We’ll back you all the way!

Saxby is THE choice if for no other reason than the constituent services staff he has in Georgia.
A public servant knows he has to dance with the folks who brought him to the ball and Saxby can walk the walk.
