Never mind. Whitehead nixes recount, concedes 10th District race
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Said the press release from the Jim Whitehead campaign, received late this afternoon:
“After learning today that a recount could conceivably take as long as a week, Whitehead decided to let the results of yesterday’s vote certification by Georgia’s Secretary of State to stand.”
Said Whitehead: “The people of this district have been without a federal representative since February, and that’s long enough. If this recount could be done quickly to make sure the results are correct it would be worth it, but to even take an outside chance we could drag this election out another week is unjustifiable in light of the time we have gone without a vote in Congress.
“For the good of the people of this district I will let the results stand and allow us to regain our vote in the House immediately.”
Send your congratulations to U.S. Rep. Paul Broun (R-Athens).

I’m SURE this has nothing to do with the little “misunderstanding” regarding the Reynolds Plantation fundraiser fiasco that appeared yesterday in the Augusta Chronicle online edition. The best man won, thanks to, oddly enough, a mix of liberal and true conservative voters.

“ALLOW US” to have a federal representative?!?
This guy’s arrogance just continues.
Whitehead: YOU LOST. You don’t ‘ALLOW US’ anything.

as a democrat , i think that the democrat party position on illegal mexican workers will continue to cause democrats to vote republican. thanks to senator kennedy for this. what america needs to do is clean up the mafia controlled mexican country. if mexicans had opportunity in their own country , many of them would stay in their own country. it is not about bigotry. it is all about mafia. mafia corruption is a tax , a hidden tax we all pay. there is downside pressure on wages in this country. it is killing our own poor and middle class. thanks to senator kennedy

Dear Ben, Let me be straight, im Republican and this is how I see it. Although I agree that the Mexican Government has many problems, I think people need to take a bigger picture of reality. At the moment, my own Republican party continues to give massive tax breaks to the super wealthy, continously ruining the middle class in America. This nation’s middle class is being destroyed from inside. Plus, as a business person, no offense, but the Mexicans seem to be the only ones willing to work cause I dont see us white folk or the black folk working in the hot sun!
