A new radio spot in defense of the immigration bill

One of the truisms of Georgia politics is that, if you bring the business community into a fight, it will certainly add clout. But count on that clout striking a bit behind the beat.

Just in time for the second round of debate, Georgia Employers for Immigration Reform on Tuesday launched a first round of radio ads in defense of the immigration reform deal in Washington. We heard it on, of all places, the Neal Boortz program on WSB.

We first learned of GEIR last month, during the state Republican convention.

The chairman is Wayne Lord, vice president for governmental affairs with Pilgrim’s Pride, the largest poultry company in Georgia. We’re looking for a complete membership list.

Here’s the ad.

The 60-second spot argues that should immigrant labor disappear — the narrator never uses the world ‘illegal’ — then “native-born Americans” would suffer, too. Here’s most of the script:

“Many people think the immigration bill is an effort by business owners to get cheap labor. The fact is, business owners are looking for any labor, period. With unemployment very low and our economy running strong, businesses need immigrant workers to keep operating.

“And what if the immigrant workers all left the country tomorrow? Many of these businesses would have to shut their doors — simple as that. And to make matters worse, millions of native-born Americans, who also work for these companies, would lose their jobs, too.

“Immigrant workers are good for our economy. And new provisions in the immigration law are providing billions in additional border security measures, and giving businesses more tools to help enforce immigration laws.

“Call your senators and congressional representatives today. Tell them you want to protect American businesses, protect American jobs. And ask for their support on the immigration bill.”

I respect the simplicity of referring to illegal immigrants as law breakers; however, the truth why no policy restricting illegal immigration has the will to pass in Congress is due to the reality of capatalism. Be assured that so many of our politicians may tell us that they want the illegal immigrants out of here (lip service to many of us), but these same politicians know that the truth behind keeping the immigrants here (including those who are illegal) is the soundest economic policy.

Let’s assume that illegals are good for the economy for the moment. What about their families? With all the free education, health care and other government services they are getting at the expense of native Americans, few could argue they are good for the economy. At least we need a bill that will discourage bringing the wife and kids over.

Those people are human beings, also, constantly living in fear as a subclass. Any effort towards giving them back some dignity counts with my support.

We don’t have enough workers because our homegrown are lazy, entitled, and won’t pick up a shovel to build a road or pick up a book and become a programmer. So we have millions coming to this country as migrant workers or just plain illegally to build roads, houses and skyscrapers. We also have a pipeline of H1B visas for Indian and Pakistani programmers because we just don’t have enough available here. The H1B issue resounds in the brainy communities too. The homegrown programmers say there are enough available but the companies cry to Congress there is a shortage so they can more visas and get foreign programmers cheaper. Then the foreign programmers, here legally and all, are slaves to their employer or they must leave — no lateral movement amongst companies. Slaves making $60k and up but stuck nonetheless.

Congress must pass the immigration bill and deal with the problem in a realistic manner. Stop the racist rhetoric and recognize that the immigrants are humans first and illegals second!!! Yes to a comprehensive immigration bill! Republicans are on the verge of becoming the extinct party. They will never win a single minority vote and one in three LEGAL Americans is a minority as of 2006. We do not live in the 1950s but the “good’ole boys” refuse to recognize this fact.

I see someone beat me to the link to the youtube vid of the lawyers figuring out ways to filter out American applicants so they can get their H1B workers. They have been lying about a worker shortage since the beginning of the program!

Count how many people in the country aren’t working. That is the unemployment figure and it is closer to 50%.

Very soon, the same people with the same money will run ads in the same place advocating for the open borders that free trade requires…and most of the above ” Americans” wil ldefend them then as well…as long as they can save a buckortwo on their OJ and a chicken sandwich.

Yuck.

What about the rule of law, doesn’t it count for anything. Illegals immigrants have broken our law as has those that hire them. Furthermore, regardless of what the pro-illegal immigrant activists would like us to believe, the simple fact is, illegal immigrants drive down the wages of American citizen low and non-skilled workers. This is a fact, and no amount of sympathy seeking is going to change it.

Shame on these businesses. They are basically admitting (loud and clear) that they hire and support ILLLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. If they were hiring legal workers, they would not need do promote the amnesty bill. I say shut down these businesses. For the umpteenth time, the controversy has nothing to do with immigrant labor, it has to do with ILLEGAL immigration. Down with all employers that can’t survive without their exploited cheap illegal aliens. Losing this business with illegal alien labor will NOT be a loss of American jobs but a loss of illegal alien jobs (YES!) and a shameless anti-American employer. Boycott all Pilgram’s Pride products. This is how our traitorous President has been “growing the economy” with sham companies that are profitting from illegal aliens and destroying our society. After getting rid of Pilgrams Pride, focus on another Georgia chicken plant— Goldkist— in Ellijay, now swarming with illegal aliens and destroying this once beautiful mountain town. Lets put all these illegal alien employers out of business and post them on the WE HIRE ALIENS site

Here is some of what illegals are going to get if S.1348 passes.

  • Amnesty Without Limits-No caps on number of people they can bring with them.
  • Bi-National Health-care-GUAPA (Guanajuato, Mexico & Pennsylvania project) assurance of quality health-care for illegals concentrating on communicable: tuberculosis, leprosy, std’s and hepatitis. Minor expense, a larger challenge to surmount political, cultural, and economic barriers that impede provision of health care on both sides of the border.
  • Illegal Aliens Eligible for In-State Tuition-But Americans are NOT.
  • No English Required.
  • Social Security Rip-Offs-2 million immediately eligible for your S.Security.
  • Border Fence Cut Short-Last year’s law was for over 800 miles, Bush lied now it’s 300.
  • 24 Hour Limit on Background Checks-They are 8 months behind on passport checks, this is a dangerous joke.
  • Gang Members Eligible for Amnesty-if they say they disavow their gang( Senator’s continued insanity, I kid you not)
  • Undermines U.S. Sovereignty.
  • Estimated $2.6 Trillion Cost to Taxpayers-this burden is your children and grand children shoulders.
  • Illegal Aliens Not Required to Pay Back Taxes-Americans have no choice but to pay.
  • Fugitive Aliens Eligible for Amnesty-Insane.
  • Chain Migration Expanded to Absorb Backlog.

Wake up America! We are loosing our Country! We have been Betrayed!

The drug laws are also impossible to enforce. If we locked up everyone who uses drugs the ecomony would falter. So why not just legalize everything? Once the Mexicans qualify for welfare they will revert to siestas instead of workaholics. Can we send them back to Mexico then?

The solution to illegal immigration from Mexico is simple. We have a national minimum wage of what $7.50/hour. Institute a North American Minimum Wage of $15/hour. Let US employers hire all the Canadians and Mexican they want for $15/hour. If you catch an employer paying foreign workers less than the $15 minimum, make him back pay then at the legal rate times 2 or maybe 3. Ultimately the cheapest labor will be US citizens.

This is a nightmare and could be the end of America as we know it today. 20 million illegals plus their families would amount to around 140 million illegals being granted amnesty and crippling our economy. If all of the illegals were to go home tonight, we would all live a safer life without worrying about an invasion of illegals! They all need to be removed immediately. This is not their country and came here uninvited. The truth of the matter is that our unemployed are no longer on the charts because their unemployment benefits ran out years ago when Bush stopped our country from deporting the illegals. Are his housekeeper and landscaper here legally? What about at the White House? Have illegals invaded that too? Stop this insanity! Impeach Bush for treason to his country in a time of war. He is pushing this bill that would allow terrorists to reside in our communities just waiting for the word to attack from within. There will be no securing our borders at that point. It will be too late!

Mexicans are revolting on our streets and waving Mexican flags while they drag the US Flag in the dirt. This is a disgrace that is not to be tolerated. http://www.mexica-movement.org/

Illegal Immigration: A Rich American’s Game

This is one of the best articles I have ever read about explaining the core issue behind illegal immigration. Congress has formed an unholy alliance with the lobbyist money changers in Washington to sell out small business and the middle class. Please read this article and tell me what you think.

By Froma Harrop

RCP-There’s a popular game in America that goes, I’ll cut your wages, but you don’t cut mine. And the outsourcing of your factory job to China is a good thing, because it makes my paycheck go further at Wal-Mart. We hear this theme a lot in the debate over illegal immigration.

Consider the recent raids on Swift meat-processing plants. Federal agents arrested 1,187 illegal immigrants at facilities in six states. Mere hours later, economists warned that depriving the industry of illegal labor could raise hamburger prices.

Illegal immigration is usually presented as a win-win situation: Undocumented foreigners earn far more than they could back home. Consumers get a bargain.

Nowhere to be seen are America’s working poor who get stomped on 13 different ways. They have to compete with illegal immigrants for jobs and housing. Low-skilled natives and legal immigrants also end up subsidizing the undocumented because they tend to live in the same communities, which must provide hospitals, police, schools and garbage pickup.

BusinessWeek Debunks the “Great Labor Shortage Lie”

BusinessWeek: A global labor crunch, already being felt by some employers, appears to have intensified in recent months. That’s in spite of widely publicized layoffs, including Citigroup’s plans to shed as many as 15,000 staffers… Corporations are determined to keep labor costs under control, so they’re reaching deeper into their bag of tricks…Some are lowering their standards for new hires or moving operations to virgin territories other outsourcers haven’t discovered…

Economists, of course, will tell you there’s no such thing as a labor shortage. From a worker’s viewpoint, many so-called shortages could quickly be solved if employers were to offer more money. And worldwide, millions of people still can’t find jobs. The strongest evidence that there’s no general shortage today is that overall worker pay has barely outpaced inflation.

SirotaBlog: Politicians…couch their bought-off immigration positions in humane terms - pretending that they care about the plight of impoverished Mexicans. Yet, most of these same politicians aggressively supported NAFTA, which deliberately drove 19 million Mexicans into poverty.

And even more to the point: advocating for so-called “guest worker” programs that provide a legal framework for American employers to exploit Mexican workers without giving those Mexican workers basic labor/human rights afforded to domestic workers is simply not a humane position either for Mexicans or Americans - it’s a position that creates a 21st Century brand of inhumane economic slavery for Mexicans, and embraces the ongoing efforts to drive American wages into the ground.

The “monied-class” does not wish to honor America’s Motto, E Pluribus Unum, and share the wealth, with higher labor costs for skilled American labor, created through the order made available by our civil society. It believes that the yeoman artisanry required to man the machines and weapons necessary to maintain our security and enterprise require too much of the profit they deem necessary for their greed and avarice - reference the ratios of executive to shop floor wages in Japan versus America.

That historic patterns of criminality and political perversion have been unaddressed by The People is obvious. The China Trade, led by GHWBush’s “private commercial trade contract” with the Chinese generals; W’s exploding the Internet Revolution to benefit the petro-chemical BIG OIL faction which missed the Middle Class’s 401K run-up; the 9-11 treason unredressed by both parties of the false elite; the false war in Vietnam predicated on the unredressed Gulf of Tonkin Hoax to benefit Rome’s Fifth Column that now wishes to usurp the Republic through naturalized illegal Hispanics: Summon the blood Americans. Black, white, Catholic, Jew, Protestant…do you want closet-queens like Bush running Our Country into the ground like a lisping Bourbon prince?

NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg has declared Independent, wisely. So must we all and end the bi-partisan false-elite grip which has seen the killers of Kennedy and King, our dead of Vietnam, 9-11, and Iraq go unpunished.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, their followers and the Democrats cooperatively allowing them to remain free are the enemies of The People and must be brought to Justice that Our Nation prosper once more.

Businesses who fail to cultivate an atmosphere of kinship and neighborliness with those “who brung them” must be shown the opportunity to take their business elsewhere. The public charters must ensure practical citizenship and conformity to common sense. If demand for extraordinary profit requires the impoverishment of The People and cooperation with the Roman Anti-Christ’s plan for conquest, Our survival as One Nation is too important for The People to fail to strike the root and source of this evil.

Individual and national sovereignty is our mark in history. The “multinational” false-elite is Rome, having successfully survived their attempt through Hitler, they have a stronghold here in the Roman Aristocracy and the Bush Rockefeller Nixon faction that sent us to their colonial wars in Korea, Vietnam and Central America, and has us now in Iraq for their oil and Afghanistan for opium.

Righteousness is our only profitable path. Businessmen who fear the eighty percent Working Class are nothing but rapacious exploiters who have hired corrupt politicians to mislead The People.

It does us no good to build the fence and allow those who have conspired against The People and Constitution to remain. America is worth protecting. In history we are as yet unique. Build the fence and take down the traitors who have designs on Our Nation.

“Babylon will fall in a day.” Let that day be tomorrow when we all find what it means to be a true Whig American and bring those whose treason is manifest to Justice.

No amnesty, no treason, end Rome in America now. Traitors must die that America prosper. Rome’s Fifth Column wishes our destruction as a sovereign People. The Working/Middle Class is the only “stopper” in Rome’s Bush Nixon Rockefeller Illegal-Immigration “Shoot-the-Moon” attempt going on now.

We, The People, must end this game and end Rome’s fascist plutocracy in America.

Title 1 — Border Enforcement Subtitle B Sec 113 (b) (3) (C) in exploring methods for Canada, Mexico, and the US to waive visa requirements for nationals and citizens of the same foreign countries Subtitle B Sec 117 (d) Federal, State, and local respresentatives in the US shall consult with their counterparts in Mexico concerning the construction of additional fencing and related border security structures along the international border between the US and Mexico, as authorized by this title, BEFORE the commencement of any such construction Subtitle C Sec 131 (a) in General - Beginning October 1, 2008 an alien (other than a national of Mexico) who is attempting to illegally enter the US … shall be detained …

Bill S.1348, thomas.loc.gov, Library of Congress web site. Read it. There is no border enforcement. It just makes all the illegals legal. The IRS wants their portion of the money being sent back to Mexico, the politicians want their votes, and Bush is pushing his NAU plan that he has stated will be in place by 2010. Every immigration and Homeland Security spending bill, from the House or the Senate, since Bush has been in office, has been to open the borders between Mexico, US, and Canada.

To those that refuse to recognize that illegal immigration is wrong and that illegal aliens do NOT deserve our respect or compassion, here are a few highlights outlined under the topic of Illegal Aliens Do Not Deserve Our Respect Other points: We do not support the break up of families but want families to be reunited in their home countries, not in the U.S. Having an anchor baby to steal citizenship does not make Americans more compassionate that there is somehow now an excuse to bring in an entire family or allow their illegal alien parents and siblings to stay. It makes us more angry, every time we hear this excuse that people who break our laws are somehow entitled to benefit from having another anchor baby, nearly 100% at our expense I might add. Even legal immigrants make a conscious choice to leave family and friends when they emigrate to another country. Shame on these lawbreaking people and church leaders that think they are Christian while ignoring the Ten Commandments. It is sinful to steal, cheat and lie just because you want to improve your economic circumstances. Tell that to Cardinal Mahoney and church leaders that are enabling this choas. Illegal aliens do not deserve our compassion, but deserve punishment and deportation along with their minor children. Also, the lack of assimilation is a major problem, though unrelated to the ILLEGAL issue. We do not need to apologize to anyone for wanting to preserve our borders, language and culture. There is no “fear of Latinos” but rather a dislike of their imposing their culture, language and widely differing values on our way of life. Call it what you want. Racist groups such as La Raza and their corporate sponsors should be banished. Their mission of promoting only “Hispanic interests” and “Latino power” is disgusting and un-American. So, thats the brief summary.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! Does GEIR actually think that Georgians are THAT stupid? We are supposed to believe that businesses NEED cheap, illegal labor to survive! Hire American workers and pay decent wages and the STRONG businesses will survive! GEIR is simply encouraging businesses to continue their dependence on cheap foreign labor as a drug addict is dependent upon his drugs. GET OFF THE NEEDLE!!!
