Bob Barr also comes out in defense of Chamblis, Isakson

On today’s editorial pages of the AJC, Bob Barr joins the ranks of those who think there’s something worthwhile in that immigration reform package.

Says he:

“If, however, those who so discourteously booed a sitting senator of their own party on Saturday took the time to actually read and understand the legislation to which not only [Saxby] Chambliss, but also his colleague, Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), have tentatively lent their support, they might discover the bill contains a number of other measures that used to enjoy GOP support.”

Dear Bob, I think that you need to read Colonel David Hunt’s new book “On the Hunt” because all the “credits” that you have just given to Saxby were in fact awarded to the Minuteman Civil Defense Corp for bring to the attention of American citizens the lack of Immigration and border security while Saxby was the chairman of the Judicial Subcommittee on “Immigration, Citizenship and Border Patrol”. Saxby held that position long before taking over Max’s seat in the Senate five years or so ago. As chairman of that committee he controlled the agenda. Saxby has been a major contributor to the mess we find ourselves in today.

According to Senator Tancredo whom knows more about the Immigration issues in this country than Mr. Barr, Here are the most outrageous aspects of this bill.

Automatic amnesty for the 15-20 million illegal aliens living here today! All they have to do is fill out the paperwork and 24 hours later they are legal.

Cost: $2.5 trillion to the taxpayer—the bill bankrupts the nation.

Thirty to forty million new immigrants in about 8 years.

Four hundred thousand guest workers every year to enter our country, take our jobs, suppress our wages, and burden our communities (and when their visas expire do you think they might join the next wave of illegal aliens).

NO back taxes for amnestied illegals.

NO English requirement for amnestied illegals.

NO medical exams for amnestied illegals.

Absolutely ZERO serious provisions to upgrade border security—our elite globalists (including the Agro-business)do not intend to secure the nation. In fact, buried in the bill is language that expresses the “sense of Congress” that believes the Security and Prosperity Partnership for North America should “accelerate”! They are trading our sovereignty for the North America Union without the consent of the people.

Crossing the borders of our country illegally makes one a criminal. They are no different than thieves, drunk drivers or drug dealers (which I believe records will show that many of them are as well). Barring any of the many other problems with all of a sudden dumping millions of people on our welfare rolls, we should remember that they are criminals. Just because the numbers are unmanageable shouldn’t create acceptance any more than large numbers of thieves should excuse that behavior.

Mr. Chambliss, Mr, Isakson and Mr. Barr should be ashamed. People who want to come here legally, and within the quotas, should be allowed to do so, but people who have entered our country without regard for our borders or sovereignty should be expelled permanently.

In an AJC article today, Mr. Chambliss and Mr. Isakson indicated that the irate calls were dying down now that people are understanding the legislation they’re working on. They should understand that the irate people are still out here, and we, to the degree possible, understand what they’re trying to do and it is UNACCEPTABLE. READ MY LIPS - NO AMNESTY, no matter how you try to dress it up and present it.
