Don’t look for any protests at state convention, says Klein
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Don’t look for any Republican uprising over Gov. Sonny Perdue’s veto of a tax rebate at this weekend’s state party convention — or so says executive director Marty Klein, who’s in charge of the details of the meeting.
“I don’t expect one. Quite to the contrary, I think you’re going to see a sign of unity and a discussion of a common set of principles,” Klein said this morning on WGAU (1340 AM) in Athens.
Here’s a link to the sound that host Tim Bryant just passed us, which includes a fairly extensive defense of the governor’s decision.

Guys,….I think you’re wrong on this one…..true conservative GOPer’s are mad as hell right now and will not take it any more!!!!
Jawja Republicans want one of their own in the Governor’s mansion and are angry at being slickered by a “converted Democrat”…..ol’ Sunshine really did show his backside with the unconstitutional “un-veto” and GOP conventioneers will show Sunshine their backside in return!!!…..a little @ss for a big dumb @ss!!!!!
Washington DC insiders say Lynn Westmoreland’s current rant against Nancy Pelosi is a prelude to his announcement this weekend that he’s coming home to Jawja to announce for Governor!!!!

Having attended every Georgia GOP state convention since the late 80’s, I will NOT be attending the convention this weekend as a protest of Sonny Perdue and also Casey Cagle. Sonny is acting like a spoiled brat and Casey is no more conservatve than Howard Dean.
