Whitehead’s up on radio: His topics are taxes, jobs and the border — but not Iraq
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Former state senator Jim Whitehead, one of 10 candidates for the 10th District congressional race, has become the first to go up with a 30-second radio spot.
Listen to it here.
Whitehead, a Republican, tries to press all the buttons likely to motivate the GOP base in east Georgia: lower taxes, a stronger economy, and illegal immigration. Not a word about Iraq, though the ad mentions his chairmanship of a Senate committee on homeland security.
Whitehead also seeks to portray himself as the natural successor to the late U.S. Rep. Charlie Norwood. “Georgia’s lost a great congressman, and I’ve lost a great friend,” Whitehead says.
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the ad is the fact that it’s narrated by a woman. Which perhaps indicates the crucial role that the Whitehead campaign thinks female voters could play in the June 19, formally non-partisan race.

You people really make me laugh. It’s a typical political ad. There is nothing shameless about losing a friend and saying as much, whether in person or in a campaign ad. God, how I wish the AJC were objective. It’s really embarassing at how left-leaning it really is.

Oh Kepper grow up. Stop blaming your man’s inadequacies on the AJC. I guess when you can’t even come up with a factual and logical rebuttal to Cynthia Tucker and have to make up info from pundits in response, it says it all. Whitehead’s a loser. He can’t run on fact (does he even know what it is?) so he has to run on emotion. I’m just shocked he has so many like Kepper lined up ready to vote for him.
Oh I saw last week you blaming his own misspeaks on his handlers. Did he have handlers holding his hand before crossing the street? I guess his handlers held his hand while typing out his AJC response to Cynthia he got wrong huh? So he’s a loser either way. Either he is not smart enough to be citing and writing his own arguments and depends on others OR he just never bothered to actually go check the source but rather depended on that pundit’s incorrect claims for his reference. The 10th really needs a stooge that gets his sources from the blogosphere. Kepper must be his braintrust.

Republicans are talking out of both sides of their mouths!
To voters: Yes, we can get rid of this illegal immigration problem!
To business lobbyists: Yes, we can provide you with an unending source of CHEAP LABOR that will be subsidized by the US taxpayer!
Our politicans are scum!

Georgians, especially voters in the 10th District, don’t drink the Kool Aid that Jim Whitehead is offering.
Jim Marlow will make us proud. Jim Whitehead is already an embarassment. Time for a person such as Marlow to be elected who will be in touch with reality and able to work with people on both sides of aisle.

Whitehead cannot even read a newspaper without confusing the comics section for the want ads. If he is the best the district has and the crowned candidate by the Norwood people, the talent pool is either empty or decent candidates were all redistricted out. The GOP is suffering because of the leadership’s mangling their main issues. Bush with Iraq, Sonny with…who knows, and now Whitehead all but saying that MoveOn.org has registered Osama Bin Laden to vote here in GA.
