Says Reed: I’m on the sidelines now, but wait til next year

Since last July, one of the more constant questions in Republican circles has been about Ralph Reed. What’s the former candidate for lieutenant governor doing? And what’s he going to do?

David Brody, the correspondent for Christian Broadcasting Network who’s been getting terrific reviews for his political blog, popped the question last week during a 12-minute segment with Reed that can be seen here.

“You’re a top Republican strategist,” Brody said. “I’m sure your phone is ringing off the hook, is it not?”

“You know, not really,” Reed replied. “I have friends who are running for president, and I talk to my friends. And I have a lot of friends who are involved in those campaigns, and I stay in touch with them.

“But for the moment I haven’t formally signed on with any campaign, but I may do so in the future. I do want to help the ultimate nominee win in November 2008. I feel very strongly that this is a really critical election,” Reed said. “I expect to be involved at some point, and I’m not going to sit on the sidelines.”

I think Ralph should open a chain of Christian themed gambling casinos on Indian reservations.

Ralph Reed is the best grassroots organizer that this state or even the nation has. He knows his trade very well. Any candidate that he works with will be well served.

Ralph Reed is a hypocrite, while he and Jack Abramoff scheamed to cheat Native Americans he continued to use God’s name. Why are you people forgetting that not only did he steal from Native Americans he and Jack were cooking up a scheme to scam old Black Americans. Is this the person you really want to be a leader? How you feel if one of these people he hurt was your family member or friend?

Right, that’s why he’s been charged with misconduct and awaiting trial for… Oh wait, he hasn’t been charged with anything, only Abramoff has. Abramoff has been sent to prison and so far everything is exactly as Reed says it happened. He trusted a very well established and respected organization and friend, that turned out to be a mistake, but no criminal conduct on Reed’s part. If so, why haven’t the charges been filed? Even the “suit” brought just before last years Primary by an Indian Tribe was thrown out of court as baseless. Bet you didn’t read about that in the paper.

Hey Ralph,

I hear there is a job opening for a sanctimonious sack of $h!t up in Lynchburg. You’d be perfect for it.

I can provide a reference if you like. I promise to have you on 700 Club regularly.

Love, Rev Pat

Does Reed really think we will have forgotten who he is in 2008? I know we’re pretty foolish, but dang. We ain’t that foolish. Fool me once, shame on you fool me twice, you can’t—ah, you , you—you can’t get fooled again. Or whatever.
