Consequences, consequences, consequences
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
After we’d walked out of the office on Friday evening, we received a note from the office of Gov. Sonny Perdue, announcing that he’d put his signature to the following measures:
SB 5, SB 19, SB 23, SB 60, SB 61, SB 62, SB 87, SB 103. SB 104, SB 116, SB 124, SB 139, SB 156, SB 162, SB 165, SB 172, SB 176, SB 210, SB 212, SB 280, and SR 246.
Not a House bill in the bunch. Imagine that.

But is it not true that 40 days after the session what the Governor does not veto or sign will automatically become law??

Yes, that is true. Whatever he does not sign automatically becomes law. But Perdue has had a policy of either signing or vetoing everything. I remember him saying that when he signed the smoking ban.

You’re right, he did say that just after he lit up a cigarette since his backside was so sore straddling that smoking ban fence for over six weeks.
There was a poll-driven leadership decision!

Then you better start signing or vetoing Sonny. You got less than 3 weeks I think.

The Governor has until 11:59PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2007 to sign a whole lot of House Bills - that’s only 435 hours and 18 minutes - but who’s counting?

Don’t forget Gov., if you get your backside in a snit and start vetoing stuff; just hold onto to them bills for a little bit and do the Sonny “un-veto” dance!

Hey Gov. it’s me, your boy Ben - please, I had nothing to do with that override vote - it was all Glenn’s idea - please sign my bills!

I think we came closest to electing adults before 2002. Since then it has been a tumble down hill.

Taxpayer - I fully agree, Glenn and Earl have been incredibly embarrassing to the entire state! You can add Mark B. and Ben and Jerry to the three ring circus of childish behavior. The Governor and Mr. Cagle need to get the Gold Dome Day Care Center under control!
