Giuliani cancels in Savannah

Republicans and business types from here to the coast have been quietly touting a Saturday, invitation-only appearance in Savannah by Rudy Giuliani, the front-running Republican in the ‘08 presidential race.

But this morning, Larry Peterson with the Savannah Morning News reports that Rudy has pulled the plug, citing a scheduling conflict.

The occasion was an opening gala for the $800 million Savannah River Landing project.

Reality check - the more Guiliani is uncovered, the more likely he is to cancel more and more events. Make a bet - come February 5, 2008, Rudy’s name won’t even be on the ballot!

Well, looks to me that Rudy is rising in the polls and the Queen Bee herself is sinking like a rock. Hillary has watched her lead over some unproven junior Senator with a name like Obama go from a double digit lead, then single digit lead…then tied and now she is behind two points. She can’t even beat Obama! Just wait until Obama is not handleled with special care and the gloves come off and the press realizes its not racism when they finally tell the truth about this man and some of his asscociations. Rudy will remain on the ballot. I realize a lot of people want a change, but not her. Rudy fits well with people, he is very electable across many deomgraphics.

Ed — Rudy is going to have a difficult time explaining to Georgia’s GOP his current and past positions on abortion, family values, divorces, gay rights, etc.

As abominable as Obama is, he fares much better than Rudy in these categories.

To ensure Obama goes nowhere, the GOP had better come up with a better “family values” candidate other than Rudy.

Do tell us Ed, what are these “truths” about Obama?

McCain is leading in NH, IA, and SC by comfortable margins according to American Research Group numbers. I’m not sure where Ed gets his numbers that Rudy is rising since even nationwide polls show he and McCain tightening.
