FYI, Boortz seems to be on the side of the NRA
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
As we write this, WSB radio talk show host Neal Boortz has taken up the guns-in-parking-lots issue, and appears to be siding with the National Rifle Association.
Boortz says trial lawyers are exaggerating the threat to vicarious liability issue (for details, see the post below.) And says he keeps guns in some of the cars he drives to work each day.

Who cares what Boortz thinks. He is just another divisive Republican mouthpiece. The Georgia amendment died in committee this morning and rightly so. By the way, did Boortz even pass the bar? He is not listed in the Georgia Bar directory. What makes Boortz’s an authority on varcious liability? He is just a shock jock espousing the talking points of the NRA and Republican Party.
As for the NRA tell that to the parents of the murdered children at Virginia Tech. Republicans are mean spirited and wrap themselves around the 2nd Amendment as if the framers intended it to apply to average citizens. They did not. There is strong evidence that the framers meant only to protect State Militias by enacting the 2nd Amendment. Why would our state legislature even attempt to pass such a bill? It is obvious they are not concerned with safety. Can any of them say road rage—-disgruntled employee. Any legislator who introduced and supported this bill should be defeated.

Cheryl, I don’t care for Boortz either (he’s just a loud mouth mean SOB) — but you are typical liberal idiot.

typical liberal idiot? Not hardly. She makes valid points while you just flamed. Maybe if you could counter with a valid arguement you could win a legitimate point.

What valid point? “Boortz is a divisive Republican mouthpiece”? “Varcious (sic) liability”?
It is typical liberal crap. No, Neal Boortz is not a member of the Bar. Neither is she. She says that the framers of the 2nd amendment intended it to only cover State Militias without offering any argument or proof as to why that’s true. And she pulls out the old crap about Columbine-type shootings when nobody knows if the gun used in the campus shootings today was legal or illegal. Her post is a sad combination of bizarre logic and name-calling. That would make it typical crap of both parties.
If you want a counter, all other rights granted in the Bill of Rights are interpreted as applying to individuals. You have freedom of speech whether you belong to a newspaper or not. You can peaceably assemble even if you aren’t a pre-registered organization. So why would you interpret the 2nd amendment to only apply to those on the side of the government? That’s generally what gun-phobics argue, that protecting the National Guard (as it is today) is why the 2nd amendment was written. How sad that Cheryl missed the opportunity to tell the world of this “strong evidence” she has stumbled across. Oh well.

Wrong Aquagirl, I am a member of the Georgia bar. Look me up. Secondly, it is obvious you lack any formal legal training. If so, you would state facts instead of attacking me. In my opinion, you simply regurgitate what your puppet masters tell you. You show a lack of respect for civil discourse by attacking me personally. Do not hate the messenger because you hate her message. I am right. There are been no court decisions which state that the Second Amendment applies to citizens.
The Second Amendment reads, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Aquagirl you fail to read the first part of this amendment. By the way, Aquagirl you do not know me and I suggest you stop making broad over-generalizations, which you cannot support. This is America and I am entitled to my opinion. Comment on the topic and not me. It is obvious you know little about the Constitution or about me.

Oh, Cheryl, broad over-generalizations like Republicans are mean-spirited? Or the legislature being unconcerned for safety because they don’t agree with you, Madam Expert of the 2nd amendment? Saying you’re a lawyer on here means nothing; you could be Chairman of the Tibetan Yak Herders Association. And you don’t know me either; it’s a blog, honeybunch.
And if perchance you are a lawyer and are so easily offended, and make such weak arguments with unsupported assertions you may want to look into other work. Hiring you would be legal suicide.
You’re entitled to your opinion on what the 2nd amendment means. When you assert to know what a bunch of dead guys think about it, that’s not a legal opinion, that’s a seance. Now what exactly did you want the NRA to tell the parents of the murdered students? And what does that have to do with Constitutional law? Your assertions have no basis in law. We currently have no idea what happened today. Your blaming the NRA is just hysterical blabber.
BTW, if you can’t take it, don’t dish. you show a lack of civil discourse by attacking others, then getting your allegedly bar-approved panties in a wad when the flapping of your pie hole isn’t greeted with thunderous applause.

You are babbling now. I make no pretences about what or who I am, but one thing is for sure, I am not your honeybunch. Again, your immature insults show you are not capable of a civil debate. Therefore, I will not respond any further. As for my statements about the NRA and the legislature, I stand by my opinions. Finally, it is my opinion that most Republicans are mean spirited. Just read your post and others who label me liberal because I do not agree with you. My statements are not over generalizing—-they are based upon facts. Have a good evening Aquagirl.

I’m not a Republican, honeybunch. Not surprising your logic-challenged mind doesn’t encompass anything besides Republican/Conservative or Democrat/Liberal. You’re free to call me mean-spirited though, since I don’t agree with your knee-jerk weenie gun-bashing.
Yes, another law will surely prevent a tragedy like the one at VT today! Laws, the NRA and the GA legislature had nothing to do with it, weak sister. I dislike morons who want laws to make themselves feel better. That would include NRA members who want a law infringing on an employer’s right to determine what they bring on their property, be it a slingshot, handgun, or 155 howitzer. And mealy-mouthed “lawyers” who think because they feel a certain way, laws should be just like they feel!
You put as much thought into your opinion as a screaming girl scout puts into running from a spider. Bring some facts next time that relate to your opinion. You are unable to work up a logical train of thought since you are a “liberal” and “conservatives” like guns. Therefore guns=conservatives=bad.
This is why courts are so stupid. They’re full of lawyers who reason like you. I don’t label you mean-spirited because you’re “liberal” and I’m “conservative. I label you mean-spirited because you think as long as a law doesn’t upset your little applecart, it’s okay. But if your precious opinion (guns are carried by scary NRA Republicans) is reflected in the law, then it’s peachy. Nice legal reasoning, wunderkind.
Have a super evening bashing Fox news and doing other liberal-approved things! And try taking that brain for a training run sometime. You could start by explaining “varcious” liability. I’ve never heard of that, must be a super-specialized field for whiz “lawyers” like you.

Aquagirl Seriously, You need to get laid. Tonight ask your “partner” to flick your bean for about and hour. Afterwards, grab all your handguns and hold them like your children while your “partner”, oh let’s call her Pat, recites the second Amendment over and over. Finally the two of you can snuggle up to some Hannity & Colmes. Feel better honeybunch?

Where oh where has my Aquagirl gone? Were you always a bully? Did you take milk money from other little girls when you were young (maybe you still do)? Being sexually confused as you are, you’re going to want to ease up on the Rosie O’Donnell type tirades. Actually, you should give her a call you seem like her type. Now run along and go find a Conservative who’s behind you can kiss.

Aquagirl Are all lesbians so angry? Is that why you like guns so much? Just wondering.

Hey, schizo poster, I’m right here. And I’m not confused, as opposed to someone who went from Bob to Mary in under 30 minutes. Can they really do those operations so quickly nowadays?

To Mary and Bob, So what if Aquagirl is “in the family”(that means gay). What does that have to do with stating her opinion? Aquagirl represents what a lot of the Gay community thinks and feels. I applaud her courage for not only being open about her sexuality but her position on gun control. You go sister!

Yes, they can do those operations that quickly. You should know. Seriously, can’t we all just get along. I agree that you are an angry sexually confused man/woman who is a bully. You can agree that I’m a schizo poster (who’s had a sex change) with nothing better to do than put bullies like you in their place. Come on sister (yawn) is that the best you got? See I’m one of those rare breeds of people who don’t care, get offended, or cry myself to sleep over comments by bullies like you.
I miss your sweet retorts.

Aquagirl Gotta run. It’s time for my hormone therapy. All of those shots. Ouch. Tonight when I’m comunicating with the mother ship, I’ll be sure and mention that you and I talked. By the way, was there ever an Aquagirl because I could have sworn Aquaman was gay? Till next time honeybunch.
